About this house rental
BAYVIEW BUNGALOW VACATION RENTAL is a charming sanctuary for visitors looking for distinctive vacation or longer-term accommodations. Located in the heart of our small, but lively and diverse city, Arcata’s numerous amenities are within easy walking distance.
Bayview Bungalow is centrally located, yet private, quiet, and cozy. Our property is a stand-alone, two bedroom home built in the 1940s, and recently renovated with contemporary tastes. The interior of our bungalow has a modern decor with an eclectic array of fine art and illustrations from the local area. The living room has a beautiful dining/conversation island made of local and exotic woods and surrounded by comfortable, bar-height chairs. A mini wall mounted gas fireplace provides both ambience and warmth for those cool nights (and some days!). A flat screen television with ROKU TV and wireless internet will keep you entertained and connected. There is a full kitchen, stocked with the necessities should you opt to dine in. The two bedrooms have queen-sized beds with memory-foam mattresses. Our guests can enjoy the views of Arcata’s historic Plaza, Arcata Bay, and forested horizons from the expansive porches. We do allow dogs but we charge 30.00 per day per dog.
Bayview Bungalow’s location allows you to experience all that is wonderful about Arcata while leaving your car parked. You can easily stroll to shops, restaurants, movies, the Arcata Marsh Wildlife Sanctuary, or Redwood Park trails. Bicycle rentals are also available within a few blocks if you want to branch out a bit – Arcata is very bike-friendly. Within a few steps of the front door, Wildberries Marketplace has everything you could ask for in a grocery store and more: conventional and organic foods, juice and salad bars, scrumptious deli offerings, made-to-order sandwiches and ready-to-eat dinner specials, and a coffee/espresso bar. If your looking for a late night meal try Toni's 24 Hour Restaurant.
Just minutes away by car, you can experience some of the exquisite natural features in the area - sandy beaches, wild rivers, coastal trails, and giant redwoods. Eureka’s historical jewel, Victorian-Era Old Town, graces Humboldt Bay’s waterfront with fine dining, shops, and bookstores just ten minutes’ drive to the south. Fifteen minutes north, Trinidad is a picture-perfect coastal village with a vintage lighthouse, the local fishing fleet moored in Trinidad Bay (and of course, fresh, locally-caught fish!), and our favorite wine tasting room - Moonstone Crossing, where local vintners Don and Sharon offer a fantastic selection of their award-winning wines.
Whether you are here on vacation or business, are a visiting professional, a parent of an HSU student, or are simply passing through, we hope that spending some time at Bayview Bungalow will enhance your travel experience to Arcata.

Clean, comfortable, great for our small dog; nice amenities; across from a great grocery store; noisy at night because of the busy street

We have come to find this sweet little bungalow our second home. We love it! Close to old town and all the fabulous restaurants. Where can you find a bakery that also serves pizza! We love sitting on the deck and looking at the bay having our morning coffee. I would definitely recommend this property 💙

My wife and I had a wonderful stay in this great house. Perfect location for walking in town to restaurants, bars and shopping. If you are a runner you can easily run to the beautiful city park or the paths around the marsh. Has a cool little running store the Jogg’n Shoppe! Great place for cycling and perfect local if you want to venture up to the Redwood National and state parks as well as near by small beach towns like Trinidad for fun and exploring. Highly recommend the Bayview Bungalow and hope to return again in the near future.

Super cute and cozy cottage. We appreciated the parking in the driveway as it is located on a one way street. Super quiet neighbors and a lovely backyard. We had a restful stay and look forward to coming back!

Sweet cottage, east walk to plaza and excellent grocery store right across the street. Worked well for four adults, kitchen is nicely outfitted. Host was flexible when I started with the wrong dates, thanks.

I was really impressed at the practical layout of the place.

This is a beautiful little cottage. Amenities were well thought out. Great location across from Wildberries Market and a short walk to Arcata center and the dining and shopping of the area. Really good communication with the owner while we were there. Only comments of note I could make are the beds are low to the ground (getting harder to get out of as I seam to be getting older, lol) and the mattresses are a bit firm for me as well, though after the first night my body got used to the mattress. That said, will definitely be on our short list of places to stay again when visiting our Son. Thank you!

This is the best location we have stayed at in Arcata. The house was clean, spacious and beautifully decorated. Our host was very helpful with immediate response to any inquiries. Will book again next time we visit Arcata!

The improvements made to this house were excellent. Newer windows, flooring, dining island, lots of electrical outlets, comfortable beds and great leather furniture in the living room. Our only downsides were lack of railings on the front steps andbusy street (but great people watching) .

Except for an issue with the washing machine that I informed the owner of, it was a good stay.

Very comfortable cottage in a great location. The kitchen was well stocked, beds were comfortable and a fenced yard for the dogs made for a great weekend retreat from the inland heat. Easy walking to Arcata Square and groceries across the street. Good central location for exploring the coast...just a short drive south to Eureka or north to Trinidad.

Basically needed a place to stay close to family who lives in Arcata. Came for relative's graduation. House is well supplied even though we just slept there.
The rug in the bathroom is dangerous. Does not grip floor.
Felt VRBO on sign outside advertises tourists inside.
First time I have ever had to start a load of wash in a rental!
But it is cozy and handy to downtown.

This was our second stay at the Bayview Bungalow and it didn't disappoint. The property is centrally located and it's easy to cross the street to get to the market, or walk a few blocks to be in the town square.
The home itself is easy to access, clean and exactly as described. The yard is nicely fenced in, which our pup loved.
Toni was communicative and helpful. We would certainly stay at the Bayview Bungalow again.

Great space in a great location! Space was perfect for our party of 2. Used both bedrooms and we both thought the beds were comfy and there were plenty of linens available.
The shower is amazing! The bathroom is plenty big. Easy check in and check out.
Was traveling with a 4 legged friend and there is a great backyard with plenty of room to play around.
Great location!!! Just a quick walk to the town center and plenty of restaurants.
A great market with everything you need is a few steps away!

Just right as a base for our north coast adventures. The Bayview Bungalow was comfortable and cozy with a surprisingly well equipped kitchen. It is ideally located within a short walk of Arcata’s interesting shops and restaurants. We’ll be back!

This place is very very expensive for what you get. It’s not very nice and it’s not in a great area but they take dogs and the only place we can find on short notice. I stayed in Arcata many times before and this is my least favorite place

Close to Cal Poly, close to downtown, across the street store.
Will rent again!

This small cottage has a great location, across the street from Wildberries Market, with a bakery, sandwich shop, hot food and salad bar, as well as a full-service grocery. It is a very easy walk to the Plaza, restaurants, and shops. The bed is comfortable, and the kitchen is full stocked with appliances.

Great location close to the University, within walking distance to local shops and restaurants. The Bungalow was very clean and as always a fully stocked. The kitchen was small but suited all our needs. If you do need something there is a great store across the street. We love all the cute decor it made the Bungalow feel very cozy and warm like a home not a rental. Thanks for the hospitality we will definitely be staying again!

I would give 10 stars for the property management as they always responded quickly when there was an issue. The bungalow is situated in such a way that you were able to see the bay from the porch. That was our favorite spot. There is a wonderful grocery store across the street… I had made friends with several of the employees by the time we left ha ha… The view down to the plaza was definitely reminiscent of San Francisco. I would have given five stars in every area except that the bungalow was much smaller than we anticipated. We were looking for three bedrooms, this is two bedrooms and a sofa in a very small living room.
Our only other issue would be with check-in, it states that the keypad is on the front door, you actually have to open the screen first which we did not try as we thought it was locked. That was not a big deal and again the property manager took care of our issue right away. And was very friendly about our mistake. Thank you for a lovely time, we made many wonderful memories with our family.💙

Arcata Bungalow
Nice , comfortable 2 bd/1bath home in convenient location. However, Fan in bathroom didn’t work and hinge on door in first bedroom is broken. Curtains are see through - would prefer privacy curtains. Overall, pleased with property.

House was cute and clean. We loved the location, which was central to anything we needed in town and we were able to walk everywhere. We loved the porch and the backyard too. House was equipped with everything we needed to enjoy our stay. A little tight for 5 guests though seeing as there is only one bathroom, but other than that the house is perfect. Would stay again.

We stayed in Arcata due to its proximity to many state parks and the National Park. The house was very comfortable, and the location and town were great. The host was very responsive and the property was in excellent condition.

Cozy Bungalow!
Our foursome of 2 couples thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The whole place was spotless and very-well maintained - including inspirational-quote artwork on the walls. The on-wall fireplace was amazingly effective as well as beautiful: it heated the whole house. Fully-equipped kitchen. Location is an easy walk to downtown, groceries right across the street. Nice view all the way out to the bay (if the weather is nice). Comfy beds, washer and dryer, convenient driveway parking for 2 cars. Easy access (no keys to deal with). Huge redwood-filled public park with hiking trails about a mile away - and picturesque Eureka just around the Bay. We had lots of fun / beautiful photos and memories from our short stay here. We will definitely stay here again when in the area!

Fantastic!
The house is on a fantastic area! We walked to the movie theater, dinner, cupcake shop, farmers market. The grocery store was right across the street which was also fantastic. If we ever wanted to move to Arcata we would hope this house was for sale because it was so cute and location was just spectacular!! Loved it!
