About this house rental
The villa is ideally situated halfway between the Roman settlement of Glanum and the historic town centre of St. Remy. The main square in the heart of the city is only about 8 minutes walk away.
The property is situated in a very quiet side street, which is only used by residents. From the living room you have a direct view of the Alpilles.
The garden is 1800 sqm in size and offers a lot of shade due to its old trees, but also has some sunny spots, especially near the pool. Many of the plants are typical for the provence. There are about ten olive trees, several cypresses, a lot of lavender that lines both sides of the path from the gate to the house, and a palm tree. The pool is at least 40 square meters big, has several steps on one side, and can be illuminated at night. At the pool there is a small independent house with a double bed, private bathroom and shower, fridge and air conditioning. In front of it there is a vine-covered seating area including a sofa, as well as several loungers and a sunbathing lawn.
The garden is watered automatically.
The property has four parking spaces, two of which are covered by a carport. The gate is electric and can be operated with a remote control.
The main house was built in 1930 by a Parisian family and is typical for the Provence. It was completely refurbished and extended in 2005. In 2020, it was renovated and the interior was re-equipped. It has thick walls, high ceilings and large windows with shutters. Together with the stylish brickwalled house by the pool, the living space is around 140 sqm.
Altogether, the living space is comprised of a large living room (32 sqm) with fireplace, dining area and flat screen TV, a fully equipped, spacious kitchen with dining area, three double bedrooms, three bathrooms and a laundry room with washing machine and dryer. Outside of the kitchen, there is a BBQ grill and a large boules court (approx. 75 sqm).
The house has modern central heating, as well as air conditioning, and can therefore be used all year round. With its spacious garden it invites you to relax - also together with friends. At the same time, it is located in one of the best locations of St. Remy. It is so close to the restaurants and shops of the town that it is worth going there just for a small coffee. At the same time, the main sights of St. Remy are also only a 15 min walk away: Glanum, one of the most important ancient sites in all of France, and the abbey where van Gogh lived and created some of his most expressive works. Last but not least, the property's location in the southern part of St. Remy means that it is particularly close to the Alpilles, from where you can enjoy great walks, bike rides and gliding.
We believe the ideal number of guests is six, but if required, up to eight people can easily be accommodated.

We loved our stay in St Remy. Our eldest daughter loved the independence of staying in the pool house, and the house was perfect for us and our youngest teen. The garden and pool in particular are just gorgeous. The location is very convenient for walking into St Remy, but also for visiting nearby towns like Arles and Avignon. There are several very good restaurants we visited in St Remy, recommended by Astrid.
Astrid was very helpful throughout the booking process and build up to the trip. Jocelyn was also brilliant through checking in, particularly as we were delayed by poor service at our car hire firm.
We would definitely recommend and use again.

A 100 years old typical house with a exceptional beautiful garden and large swimming pool. All that in walking distance from Saint-Remy. What can anyone want more?

We had a wonderful stay at Astrid and Armin’s comfortable home in St. Remy. We loved the house, the location, the boules court, the pool and the peaceful garden. It was such a treat to return to our home away from home in St. Remy after our outings. We also enjoyed being able to walk into St. Remy for provisions or for meals. The property manager, Rhys, made checking in and out easy and was most helpful with restaurant and other activity suggestions. I would be happy to return for another visit and I do hope that I will be able to do so one day.

If you are looking for the perfect stay in Provenance, this is the place. Located walking distance from the city center of St. Remy and around the corner from beautiful hiking trails and excellent wineries. It’s no wonder Van Gogh found so much inspiration in this area. The property is clean, perfect for a group of 6 adults and even two toddlers. There are ample areas to relax, and the pool is clean and refreshing. The hosts and concierge are very helpful and responsive. We will definitely come back and relive amazing memories and make new ones.

We stayed in this beautiful home for a week while exploring the South of France with our three teens. The house was so lovely and the grounds were like a dream! It was wonderful for everyone to be able to relax during long afternoons by the pool, enjoy fresh dinners under twinkling lights in the garden, and sleep peacefully in the comfortable house. The locations was perfect for exploring all of st Remy on food - adorable and fascinating town with great restaurants and wineries (domaine Milan is 2 km down the road - must stop!). We could also explore so much of Provence in our car as almost all of the towns we wanted to visit were close enough for easy day trips. recommend 10/10!! Thank you for our stay!

We had a great stay at this beautiful house in St Remy. The house has great character to it and was perfect for our family. The AC in the bedroom was a godsend for us on those days where the temps got high in the area, and we loved the pool on those hot afternoons. The gardens are gorgeous and very well maintained. Having screens on the windows was also wonderful, and definitely not commonly seen in France. Communication with the owner leading up to our stay was great, as was the property manager/concierge, Rhys, during our stay. We were able to walk to town easily, and there was a fantastic playground on the way into town that our little one loved. I would definitely recommend this property!

We had a delightful stay in Saint Remy

This property was perfect inside and out and it is a short walk, 10 minutes, into St. Remy. We stayed there with another couple and it was spacious and offered privacy. The house is equipped with many amenities, tastefully decorated, and it had an added luxury of a pool and pool house. The garden is delightful, quiet, and a beautiful respite after a day of touring, or just relaxing for the day. Astrid and Rhys were very helpful and kind, and replied to communications promptly. I would recommend this property whole heartedly

Wonderful stay in this lovely property. Rhys, the propert manager, did an amazing job. He was there day and night for things such as extra hair dryers. And suggestions for places to visit off the beater path. Highly recommend the heavenly spot

We spent a week at this wonderful St. Remy property with 2 other couples. The property was perfect. A beautiful home with 2 bedrooms and. 2 baths in addition to a poolside house with another bedroom and bath. The home had everything we could have needed within a 10 minute walk of the town center.
The owners were incredibly responsive and helpful. The property managers, Rhys and Noemi were wonderful. We had them prepare dinner for us twice: it was amazing. They were both incredibly warm and helpful with whatever we needed.
The pool, gardens and outdoor spaces were beautiful as well. This property is a gem. I can't wait to return!

Overall this was a very nice property. The house was a good size and in good condition. The concierge Rhys was very lovely to interact with and responsive when we needed him.
The grounds were beautiful and private, although you can hear the neighbors playing in their pool, etc. Our only real complaint is that the bed linens are very rough and poor quality. Given the price it would be nice to have slightly nicer bed linens on the various beds. Also just to note that the largest King bed is actually in the separate pool house - so not ideal if you're traveling with young children or want to sleep most comfortably connected to the main house.
Town was a very manageable walk and we enjoyed playing at the town playground very much.

Perfect Provence
My family spent two wonderful weeks in Provence. The property was beautiful and the gardens idyllic. The attention to detail was excellent providing everything we needed to make it a comfortable, pleasurable stay. We all enjoyed spending time in the gardens so much and the pool was wonderful. My son especially had lots of happy times spent in the pool and was one of the highlights of his holiday. St Remy is a short walk away and it was a perfect base to travel to surrounding areas when exploring, The host was so helpful when making arrangements before we travelled and Rhys our concierge was brilliant whilst there, nothing was too much trouble and together they made our holiday such an enjoyable experience. We were sad to leave and hope to return soon.

Living the Provence Dream for one too-short week!
From the crunch of the gravel in the shaded parking area beyond the electric gate when we drove up, to the songs of the birds and the hum of the cicadas, to the scent of the lavender and other flowers that lined the winding stone path leading to the front door, Provence filled our senses at this perfect house. The garden spaces were even better than described/photographed, offering dappled shade for breakfast, lunch and dinner. We enjoyed apéro hour under the pergola beside the pool. The huge windows (with wonderful bug screens--very rare in France!) brought in the cool night air to the traditional Provencale house, so we only once even used the very efficient A/C. The kitchen was well stocked, the abundant towels were the fluffiest we have ever had in a French rental house, and we loved the marvelous tiled floors. The pool was fabulously cool and refreshing when we returned from a walk (10-15 mins away) into charming Saint-Rémy. And the concierge--Rhys--was knowledgable, fast, and efficient, for example sending us a complete list of recommended restos and setting us up with a new hiking app so we could explore the area. We can't recommend this home enough, and our only regret is that we booked it for only one week!

A uniquely special place
Our family spent the most idyllic week in this beautiful home during August 2020. The minute the electric gates closes behind you, you feel almost transported back to the 1930s, in these lavish grounds brimming with lush green lawn, lavender and olive trees. It has a stunning swimming pool and pool house, which forms part of the accommodation, several outdoor eating areas along with quiet corners to enjoy a glass or two of Provence’s finest rosé, and a charming pétanque area that our girls absolutely loved. A far cry away from the crazy Covid 19 situation that was still causing havoc across Europe and the world. We almost forgot all about it!
The house itself is stylish, tastefully furnished and very well equipped, keeping a slightly old fashioned touch whilst being fully functioning.
You won’t spend much time in there though because the outside space is just too magical.
We were blown away and are 100% going back next year!
