Very well equipped home at a beautiful location overlooking the water. The pool was a real treat for the kids in our group.
The property manager was in regular communication and quickly dealt with one item that needed attention.

Overall, we had a very nice vacation. The house definitely needs some TLC. I spent the first 2 days taking pictures of things that were damaged or broken prior to my visit. I did forward to the management company, and they were quick to respond. The reviews stating flies and bugs are true, we had both, but I believe it is due to being on the water. The Cambridge area is very nice and we found some great places to eat. The pool and pool area were kept very clean.

Our family of 14 ranging from 2 months old to 74 years old had the best week staying in this house. We spent so much time playing in the pool, fishing and catching crabs off the dock and playing billiards inside (I’m not sure the billiards table was ever unoccupied). A few of the older kids and adults enjoyed the kayaks too. We loved drinking our morning coffee on the back patio overlooking the water and were awestruck by the beauty of the sunset each night.
The kitchen was stocked with everything we needed! We had brought extras of kitchen essentials, but didn’t need to. The labels in the kitchen were very helpful too.
Early in the week we asked management to remove the vacuum from the pool bc it was getting in the way of the kids swimming, but we regretted having them take it out bc it then got a little dirty towards the end of the week. So I recommend just leaving the vacuum alone and letting it do its job.
The bedrooms were great! Everyone was very comfortable.
The management team was super responsive and helpful.
Our family looks forward to staying here again in the future. Thank you, again, for everything!

Fantastic house and property that exceeded our expectations. Perfect for a Thanksgiving holiday with extended family. Rooms were much bigger than they seemed in the photos and there was plenty of space for six adults, four kids and a dog. The property felt secluded and the views and the location, which was right on the bay, couldn't be beat.

We had a fabulous time at this property! House was clean and super organized. Had everything the listing indicated that it would. Host was very responsive. We were an extended family of 15 people ranging from ages 20 months to 70 years old. House was great for that. Along with pool and lake activities, house had tons of board games, lego and puzzles for our house. Would definitely stay here again soon. Only challenges - pool table was broken so we couldn't use it and there were no shades in the master bedroom - gave this feedback to property managers and they were very responsive.

Overall nice time
The house offered everything stated and we had a lovely time. I would note the master bedroom does not have curtains or a door so it connects right through the bathroom to the double bed room. There were also some minor upkeep issues such as loose outdoor siding and the pool gate was a bit broken. The team is extremely responsive!

This is a lovely venue which needs some TLC. The lid on the toilet of the powder room was broken and the upstairs fire alarm needs a new battery. However, more importantly, there is severe leaking of the door walls on the Bay side when it rains. We used towels and even buckets to catch the water. The kitchen door wall is especially bad. I took pictures if you need them. The fly problem is very annoying as it appears they are breeding within the house itself. We noticed almost no flies outside but had MANY indoors no matter how many we killed.
In spite of the negatives we all thought the house was very spacious and suited our needs perfectly. The view is beautiful, the area serene and the pool and kayaks were splendid.

This is a wonderful home to visit with friends and family. The property is in a very quiet and somewhat remote area of the lovely town of Cambridge MD. Great place at a time when you want to have a safe vacation. The property and facilities were exactly as described. We were a large family of 14 and had an absolutely wonderful time. We will cherish our memories at the The Birds Nest.

We enjoyed our stay. The house is big and being on the water was great! The views are awesome! But It is time for updates to be made throughout the home. It feels tired and it would be nice to play pool without worrying that billiards will fall through the pockets and land on toes. We expected more for the price.

It really feels like you are visiting friends or family and staying at their home, not like a rental property that gets treated roughly. Beautiful view across the Bay to the Western Shore. Sadly it was a bit too chilly to enjoy the kayaks or the in-ground pool in mid-October. Kitchen is well stocked with dishes, utensils, and appliances. Comfy furniture and beds. Plenty of space to spread out, even for larger parties. Satellite Internet worked well. Driving out from Cambridge, mobile service goes from LTE, to 3G, to 1X, with no service in a couple locations. Mobile service is good at the house.
Rated check-in at four stars because I didn't know how check-in info would be provided until less than an hour before check-in. The listing didn't say -- go to an office, get a code, something else -- and calls to various phone numbers weren't answered. VRBO customer support was finally able to put me in touch with someone from the property management company, who told me that I would receive e-mail right around check-in time with the door code. From another call with the property management company, it sounds like there were some miscommunications between the company and VRBO as this was a new listing on VRBO. It worked out, but it was quite stressful until I knew we could get in to the property.
Would definitely stay at the property again, especially during warmer weather.

Beautiful setting!
We had a wonderful stay! The kids had a great time in the pool and we all loved our daily outings in the provided kayaks. There are beautiful views from the main living area, the master suite and many of the other bedrooms. The bedrooms are very nicely done. One thing to note is that the master suite includes a room with a king bed that is connected to the master bathroom and open to a guest room with 2 twin beds (no doors between these 2 spaces).
