Very comfortable, tastefully decorated, very homely, very well equipped. Great position in the centre of the old town, a couple of hundred yards from the seafront. Don’t be fooled by the modest looking entrance down the back alley - a short climb up a few steps leads to a Tardis-like collection of beautifully decorated “period” rooms. Bakery and other interesting shops only a few yards away, not to mention a wonderful variety of traditional pubs within a few yards.
Unloading access a little tricky - unloading bay at front usually occupied, best to drive up “ Winding Street” which leads to the alleyway. On street parking possible but very difficult, other car parks available within 10 mins walk though expensive as a long term proposition.

Wow, what a beautiful property
Flawless

The house is furnished in a very comfortable old style, but with a very modern kitchen. Lots of space for our family to get together or spread out.

It was very hot in the upstairs rooms, but that was a small issue.

The house was wonderful for us, the location could not be better. Lovely little touches like bread, wine and milk left for us on arrival, bubble bath by the baths really elevated our experience. Also the kiddies toys were a welcome surprise.

The property is full of character and charm. Great location in the heart of the old town and close to the sea front and other holiday facilities. The house is very well appointed and spotlessly clean.
Nothing. The quirky access off the high street may not suit everyone but added to the charm for us.

The house was perfect for us. We had quite a short break (unfortunately) with 4 generations of the family (and a dog!) all meeting at the English seaside, having arrived from different parts of Europe. There was some trepidation about the age of the building and whether with children and a dog we would feel intimidated but it was homely while at the same time having all mod cons. The kitchen / dining area was the ideal room for such a family get-together and it is probably even better in the winter. The lack of parking was no problem for us as we only had one car, which we parked some distance away for the duration of the stay. We had all the attractions of Hastings Old Town at our doorstep and the plain by the Castle up the hill from the house ensured the canine family member also went home happy. The hosts were incredibly helpful and the artwork throughout the house is stunning (mostly the work of various members of the owners' family). We had the added bonus of carnival week and the Old Town Pram Race keeping us entertained under the living room window. Oh and don't forget Judges Bakery next door but one for the breakfast croissants! Just superb!!
We didn't stay long enough! (Parking may be an issue to be solved for car dependent visitors).

it was so unique and had lots of interesting bits

the house was perfectly located on the high street and was big and had plenty of space for us all. it was very clean and the hosts were so helpful. we needed an extra fold out bed at the last minute and Jane came immediately to help us out. All communication with Jane and Lisa was very easy , quick and helpful.
The only thing that was a bit tricky was finding available parking outside or in the car park…. probably due to the amazing location on the high street and also because of half term.

Perfect central location, so close to all amenities and just an absolutely beautiful property. Absolutely everything we could have wished for at the house too, from coffee and tea to sauces, toys and all the cooking equipment you could need.
Beds were incredibly comfortable!! Like a home from home.. just much more special!
There wasn't one thing we didn't like! Absolutely amazing, just beautiful.

The whole experience was faultless!! Exceeded all of our expectations on all levels and we cannot wait to go again! The house is stunning, beautifully decorated and very comfortable. Minutes from the seafront and right in the middle hustle & bustle of Hastings Old Town. Jane was a marvellous host!!
Literally nothing that could have improved our stay, apart from staying longer!!
