We had breakfast there twice. Each was extraordinary. Guests were treated with gracious, sincere, warm smiles at arrival. The food was outstanding, delicious, hot, beautifully presented and promptly served. It launched our day so positively.
I can't imagine how the stay could have been improved.

The breakfast was delicious, and exceeded our expectations.
The air conditioning kept the rooms quite cool, almost cold which was uncomfortable

Elegance of the establishment and the care given to it by the staff. The 'innkeeper' was extremely nice and the breakfasts were inventive and delicious.
The location could not have been better and parking was easy and convenient
Not used to a streaming method for the TV and not much access to current news.
Was somewhat inconvenient having the bathroom separate from the bed location but you get used to it......

Stayed in the Captain "loft" - lots of space and comfortable, tasteful furnishings, including a fireplace. Stayed 2 days, and the breakfast was delicious both days. The hosts provided 24 hour refreshments in the breakfast room. The location was outstanding - a short walk to Festival Theater or Queen Street.
No complaints. We would not hesitate to stay here again on our next visit to Niagara on the Lake.

The owners were very nice and accommodating but allowed the guests privacy. Breakfast was served on time, and each of the three mornings, we had a different selection.
Also, the private lock on the front door allowed guests to come and go at will. Our room was larger than expected and had good natural light and was very quiet.
Everything was good

Secretary room could have proper curtains as it gets quite bright in the morning.

This is a truly stellar place. It is clean, room was spacious, owner is a very nice and helpful person, parking and access was easy, and it is about a one-block walk from the Festival Theater. We'll certainly be back! Breakfast, labeled "continental" was excellent, varied, and substantial. In spite of a full house, the place was very quiet.
Liked everything!

it was a beautiful wood paneled B&B that had originally been a school. The guest rooms are each named for a different school staff, e.g. The Principal, The Secretary, etc. It was a great location as the main shopping and dining street was just one over. Very easy walk to get to. We were able to park our car in the driveway and leave it. We visited NOTL in February so parking wasn’t as much of an issue as I’m sure it is in warmer weather. Our room had a small sitting space (love seat, TV, chair) with our queen bed in a loft. It had a nice gas fireplace that you turned on with a wall switch…safe and easy. Although if we left it on too long the loft area got very warm. The loft has a ceiling fan which helped cool down the space. I cannot say enough about the breakfast we had. It came on a three-tiered tray with two of each item. The top had yogurt parfait with fresh blueberries, granola, drizzled with honey. The middle tier had fresh fruit cups with pineapple, melon and honeydew. The bottom had two huge, warm crescents and two slices of freshly made chocolate zucchini bread. Coffee and OJ, as well. The living room served as the dining area with tables for two and four. there was another fireplace making it cozy. Always available were ice/soda; coffee and tea; fresh baked treats under a covered cake dish to help yourselves to. Carrie, our host, met us at the door and showed us to our room. She made sure she answered any questions and we had her cell number in case we needed to ask her anything.
People need to know that there are STAIRS! There is one room on the first floor directly across from the living/dining room. All the other rooms in the house are up stairs. We had to go up 20 (I counted each time, lol) to get to our room, The Principal. My boyfriend and I workout so we didn’t have an issue, but it could be a challenge for others, and anyone thinking of staying here should know.

From the time I booked this property, the owner Carrie communicated with us on a number of occasions. We were allowed to check-in early before going to see a Shaw production which was very nice. The property is well located just off the main street of NOTL. Carrie was there to meet us upon checking in and provided us with useful information about the property. Our room (The Secretary's Suite) was very spacious with a king size bed, fireplace, couch and chair, and a large bathroom. The bed was very comfortable. We were able to park our car and walk everywhere we went. Good free wifi. The breakfast was fantastic, served like a high tea would be with a selection of yogurt granola and fruit, warm croissants, egg and bacon, apple spice cake, fresh fruit cup and orange juice. My wife also had a lovely cappuccino with her breakfast. This is all served by Carrie in beautiful dining area with fireplace. I have been to NOTL several times and this was by far the best experience that I have had and I would highly recommend the School House c.1859 B&B to anyone. Thank you Carrie for making our stay in NOTL very special.
Nothing, everything was exceptional.

The charming property is situated in a great location which made it walkable to all the boutique shops and restaurants that Queen Street has to offer. It also made for a very nice accommodation to return to after visiting several nearby wineries each day. The room size was much bigger than we had imagined, with an upstairs bedroom loft. Everything was immaculate and we appreciated the mini fridge full of water and Bubly! An in-room coffee maker was also a wonderful addition. The weather was gorgeous while we were there, so each morning we had our breakfast outside. The breakfast was different each morning and was absolutely delicious! In the main dining room, there was always a fantastic selection of coffee and teas, as well as a mini fridge containing an assortment of free sodas and Bubly. Carrie was an exceptional hostess, always checking to see if we needed anything. We enjoyed this property so much and are already making plans to return!

Quality-Location-Bontiful breakfast--Elegant decor with fine wood details, stain glass and beauty abounds in the entire B&B.
Our room had a well appointed living area and a spacious loft bedroom. Carrie the host, is gracious, keeps the place spotless and includes many extras. Rooms are quiet and you are only a short walk from shops, dining and the Shaw theater.
Wine visits are all close and easy to visit by car.
