When I first opened the door, I was overwhelmed by the strong stench of urine (dog?). I thought it was coming from a rug in the living room, so I put it outside, but soon realized the stink also permeated into the flooring.
Within 10 minutes of arriving, I responded to the Vacasa check-in text, “If you have any questions once at the property, reply to text..”
"This place reeks of urine!!! It seems to be coming from the rug under the table. I had to put it outside. I couldn't stand it."
For three days (6/21-23) I sent Vacasa text detailing the problem and asking for someone to take care of the problem. Some of the responses:
“I will notify our Local Operations Manager”
“I will let our local team aware of this”
“Is it okay to enter the home if you are not present”
“Is this the best phone number to reach you”
“…a full refund of the cleaning fee will be compensated”
“The rug will be removed shortly”
Every day I was there, I had to keep the windows open, and when I left, I knew the stench would be there to greet me.
I left on 6/25 and no one had called or stopped by; the rug was still on the porch; there was no closure of anything.
One more thing. I checked previous reviews

Was fine after I removed the rug.
I appreciate a pet friendly place but this rug has seen it's last days. I had to keep it outside to be able to breathe.

I cannot recommend this to anyone who has sensitivity to urine smell.

I appreciate a pet friendly place but this rug has seen it's last days. I had to keep it outside to be able to breathe. Bed was very comfortable. Everything else was nice and clean. Not the owners fault that people's dogs peed on their rug. It happens. But it's time for a new rug.

I cannot recommend this to anyone who has sensitivity to urine smell. The bed is unable to be slept on. Great location. We actually got to see the crematorium firing across the street. Lots of things to do just blocks away. Lots of neat shops and good food.

Pictures do not provide the pure experience of exactly how small the bedroom/bath area really is. Felt like a ship - not fun. And the bed, holy crap could that have been any firmer. It was a foam mattress that could have withstood an elephant laying on it. Not fun either!

Convenient location, pet friendly. Kitchen had what we needed. Bed was comfy, pillows not so much.

Comfy bed, yard for dog. Practically everything you need in kitchen. I would stay again.

Good property overall. A few issues with cleanliness, but quick response from owners. My only real issue was how many homeless people open carrying weapons and clearly using drugs there was around the property. Just a few blocks from a church that allows them to camp in their property so it gets rough at night.

House is good for a night or two stay (we stayed 4) and good for one person or a smaller sized couple. Easy parking and quiet. The location is perfect to walk into cute downtown Springfield and close to shops and restaurants. However as mentioned it is across the street from a funeral home and crematorium and one night we did notice a weird smell so be Ok with that. Bathroom is small but nice shower. Bed is hard but husband though it was fine. Very narrow between walls and bed and small eating space. Was overall clean but we found massive dust bunnies under the bed and couch.

Stayed alone at this property, it was clean, comfortable, quiet and felt safe! Loved the little porch and chair. Bed was very comfy! Close to downtown and Eugene.

We would definitely stay here again. The bathroom ceiling is a little grubby and could stand to be cleaned really well. Also, the door handle to the bathroom is wonky and could easily lock you in.

Loved that it was in the heart of the historic homes. It was fun to walk the neighborhood & see all the older homes. It is also a very short walk to the cute downtown. Highly recommend Planktown on Main! Good beer, cider & delicious food!
We stayed here as a transition from moving from California to Oregon before we could get into a temporary place while we search for a home to buy. We were there 14 days, which I don’t recommend unless you are very small people! We are both tall so after a few days we just needed more space. Perfect place for 3-4 days that is centrally located in Springfield & just a quick drive to Eugene. If you plan to be out & about & just need a place to sleep, shower, make a few simple meals & relax for a bit look no further. It is a little weird because it’s l across the street from a funeral home, but it wasn’t a big deal. VERY quiet street during the week after 5pm & on weekends. You can hear a nearby train horn throughout the day & night, but it’s not terrible. We stayed in the smaller unit on the left facing the house, the one on the right is bigger. One thing that I didn’t catch until we were there is if you stay in this unit you have to go outside to the back of the building for the shared laundry, but the other unit has entry from inside their place. Never had issues with laundry sharing while we were there. Nice grassy area in the back & front for dogs, but no fenced in area. I would give it 3.5 stars if that was possible, overall great just became a little to cramped for us after a bit.

Great Little Place
We had a lovely Memorial Day weekend visiting family with our Pug. The home and bed were both comfortable and easy to access, and very clean. Great assortment of dishes and kitchen tools for cooking, and a comfy couch! Walking distance to downtown and all the new restaurants there...especially close to the Public House! :-) We will stay here again if the opportunity arises.

Craftsman Cottage Springfield
We’ve stayed in both units in this home. Both are clean and comfortable. The location is ideal to walk to restaurants in town, as well as an easy short drive to much in Eugene.

Comfort and convenience in Springfield
This is the second time I've stayed at this address (the other time on the other side of this house). It's walking distance from downtown Springfield and green space and a short drive to Eugene and UO. The accommodations were clean and comfortable. My only negative comments are that a street light shines into the bedroom window, the kitchen could use more lighting, and there seems to be a moisture issue in the bathroom. But I would stay here again nevertheless..

Peaceful, Clean, and Sweet
I needed a weekend to relax by myself. This space was adorable and clean with good vibes. I found the neighborhood to be very quiet and peaceful with a lovely coffee shop just a walk away. I had everything I needed to relax and be cozy for a weekend. So grateful for the thought and attention that went in to making this a beautiful and comfortable space.

We wanted to take our newly rescued malamute to meet our grandchildren, as well as meet our three month old granddaughter. We were comfortable and the kids enjoyed playing the games. We were convenient to take out, and a couple of dog parks. My grandkids thought it was such a great place for us that we should buy it and move there.

Everything we needed and then some
We wanted to be near Eugene and Mt. Pisgah. We really didn’t have a lot of expectations of the property and our booking was last minute. We were pleasantly surprised by how well appointed the apartment was with myriad loving details. The kitchen had everything we needed. The linens were really nice. All of the appliances were new and worked well. The neighborhood was super quiet and very quaint. We appreciated being within walking distance of the Willamette River trail to Eugene. All in all we had a very nice time.
