A word about Traveler Reviews
Our Lakeside Log Cabin was very recently added to VRBO...thus just a couple of Traveler Reviews so far. However please see below our 4 large vacation rental lodges also at Stone Lake with their VRBO listing numbers. Among our 4 lodges we have over 285 Traveler Reviews...99% are VRBO's top-rated 5 Stars. We've earned these high rankings over the past 10 years by following the Golden Rule. We invite you to take a look at some of these reviews.
A word about our Rates.
VRBO's new format of their Rates section makes it impractical for us to input every possible rate combination for 365 days a year. The rates that VRBO automatically provides are often incorrect. Our apologies - we provide exact quotes in our responses. Pricing for the Pontoon Boating Pkg is provided when we respond to inquiries. An administrative fee of 3% applies to VRBO reservations as well as the State of Michigan 6% "Use Tax."
The Lakeside Log Cabin is not available to rent independently from June-August. During these months, it is rented as part of our Woodlands Lodge (VRBO #262334).

We loved our time at this little cottage. It was cozy and had a well equipped kitchen. The bed was comfortable and we enjoyed relaxing and reading by the fire. The negatives, was that the cabin was freezing when we showed up at 9:00 that evening. It took a while for us to thaw out. Second it was close to train tracks. Trains woke us up in the night 4-5 times. They weren’t as active during the day, which was nice. There are a lot of great restaurants nearby which was a blessing.

Stayed at the cabin hoping to do some stargazing down the road. Sadly, it rained all weekend. But that worked out well for just staying in the cabin and relaxing. The smell of the cedar was amazing. The cabin was the perfect size for a couple’s weekend away. It had all of the essentials you’d need.

Wonderful cabin
The cabin is cozy and adorable. The owners’ attention to detail is apparent and refreshing, going above and beyond what you would expect. It was just what we were hoping for for a relaxing, snowed-in weekend at the cabin. We would definitely stay here again!

Fun Stay/Great Hosts
We were looking for a small winter weekend getaway and we weren't disappointed. By day we meandered around town and other municipalities and by night we were cozy by the fire place while cooking a feast (note the oven is a little small, so don't bring a turducken or a roast suckling pig). I imagine this place is hopping in the summer as the lake is big and there are probably more places open, but for a little R&R in the winter, this is the place to be. Breweries and distilleries are within driving distance and plenty of places to hike. What was wonderful with the cabin and the serenity was only surpassed by the communication from our hosts. They not only have pages of restaurants and things to do in the area, but they've categorized it as family friendly or whether the places sell alcohol. Overall the stay was phenomenal and the city is in good hands with ambassadors like Ted and Brenda!

Beautiful, clean, Little cabin.
Cabin was very clean. Smaller than it appears in the pictures, but beautifully done.
It was cold out when we were there and we did have a hard time getting the temperature right, it seemed it was always cold the bottom 3 feet of the cabin and hot in the rest of if.
If you’re a light sleeper you should know, there is a train that goes by often and the outdoor heating unit puts off quite a bit of noise. There was also a bright outdoor light that we couldn’t get turned off that shined in the window, even with the blinds closed.

Rustic Cabin for a Perfect Weekend Getaway
A nice little place right on the water for a weekend getaway. My husband and I enjoyed the quiet & peaceful break from busy life. We enjoyed the view of the frozen lake and even drove to one of the winery's and took a tour. Ted and Brenda were always available and had excellent communication leading up to our stay! =)

Very Cute & Cozy Cabin!
My husband and I had a very nice stay at the cabin. I love the look of the place, and we spent time dreaming of the day we might have a cabin just like it! We spent 3 nights here, and enjoyed the gas fireplace, making our own food in the kitchen, and watching movies with the nice tv/stereo at night. We had dinner twice at the Broadway and highly recommend - the food and service were great. The hosts of the cabin were very nice, and communicated well both before the stay and during.
A few things to be aware of: In the winter, the view of the lake was blocked by the plastic surrounding the deck. I expected this as it was in the photos. Though it does the job of keeping ice/water off from the deck - just be aware that the 'view' really isn't there from inside the cabin. We also found that the couches were not too comfortable as you sink quite a bit into them and it's difficult to sit up in them.
Overall - a nice spot to stay for a brief getaway. I'm sure it's enjoyable in the summer with the lake

Great cozy cabin!
This cabin was a winter delight! It looks just like the pictures. As mentioned in other reviews it smells of cedar so if you're not into that bring a candle. Quite modern heating and lighting and an updated bathroom and kitchen were great. It was a bit chilly so I would suggest to pack slippers and robes to stay extra cozy. Bring your own coffee as well. It was nice to walk along the lake and see the geese and swans. Ted and Brenda were great, providing excellent directions as well as area suggestions and being on call when needed. Would love to come back in summer. A great way to start 2022.

Great get away
It was the perfect location and cabin for our anniversary. We wanted a low key quiet cabin in the woods. The lake was beautiful and we really enjoyed the kayaks. Ted and Brenda were attentive and great hosts! Would return for sure. I already have ppl on social media asking me for the town and link to the cabin because of the pictures I shared.

Love the cabin!
Had a great time. Cabin is magnificent! Location is fairly quiet except for the lodge two doors down. Not a lot of traffic on the lake except for few fishing boats. Will definitely go again.

Great Getaway at a Peaceful Place
The log cabin is small and cozy, just like the pictures. The hosts are very likable and responsive. It was a perfect place for two people to get away and relax. Everything was there to cook your own meals enjoy the lake sunsets and sunrises and get the basics from the nearby towns. I cannot wait to stay again!

Lakes aren't just for the summer
Talking to the owners, you get the feeling they really want you to enjoy your stay at their properties. After walking in the front door, it's obvious. Granted, this was a winter trip and we didn't get to take full advantage of all the amenities a cabin on a lake has to offer, but it was peaceful and serene, this time of year. That's exactly what we were looking for and it delivered. Beautiful little cedar Cabin. Very well kept. The smell of fresh cut cedar fills the air when you walk in the front door. It's just as charming as the pictures. Highly recommend!

Cabin in the Winter
Ted & Team were responsive, attentive, and hospitable. Great cabin and very high quality.
A few comments:
A bit tough to figure out the final cost, looks like fee's brought up the total +30% but I found that out at the end...
We were a bit concerned about the fan inside, it looked a bit loose on its mount so we were cautious about turning it on.
All the essentials for cooking were included, heads up no dishwasher however.
Cozy quaint and sustainable cabin for a few people for the weekend. AC Units and fireplace were great, soundbar on TV had solid quality too.
Would like to come back in the spring to try out the kayaks.
Overall we loved our stay!
