The house is located on a private secluded 11 acre wooded estate in the picturesque village of Peru, Vermont in the middle of Green Mountain National Forest.
In the winter enjoy skiing in nearby resorts of Bromley, Magic, Stratton and Okemo. Bromley Mountain, only 5 minutes away, is great for kids as well as for novice and intermediate skiers. It is so close, you can come back to the house for lunch and then back to the mountain. Two excellent x-country skiing centers, Wild Wings and Viking Nordic, are less than 10 minutes away. There are also options for snowmobiling.
If this is not enough, Manchester and its surrounding areas offer several unique and unforgettable sleigh ride experiences, including dogsledding.
In the summer enjoy numerous hiking or cycling opportunities nearby. We had lovely time at the property. We celebrated a special birthday with eleven adults and five children, had s'mores at the fire pit and a dance party in the basement area. Young adults liked being able to work out and the infrared sauna was wonderful! We paddle boarded and kayaked around in the lake/pond. Great place for a reunion!

This house is georgous is all I can say. It is huge to accommodate lots of people to be comfortable. It has everything you need to make a vacation tremendous and the host was super responsibe. I can't say enough about this property and host. I will definitely return. Our group of 11 loved it.

The house was great, all the amenities were as described (plus an extra kayak and a treadmill!). We enjoyed the lake, the fire pit, grills, hot tub especially, the large kitchen, etc.
Having room for everyone was great. We could have used a couple of extra chairs in the dining room and some additional hand towels and utensils but overall we had a great vacation.

This house comfortably fit our family of 12 people which included kids, adults, and grandparents. Kayaking on the pond was lots of fun especially for this kids, and they also loved making s'mores at the fire pit. The house was clean, well stocked, and comfortable.
The location is also great...minutes away from Bromley mountain (kids loved the Alpine slide and treetop adventures). It's also close to Manchester where our family did a lot of shopping.
The owner (Patrick) was friendly and prompt in his responses to any questions. He also provided a great list of local activities to consider. We would definitely consider coming back in the future!

We enjoyed our stay at this lovely property. The house is spacious and easily handled our family of 10. The variety of equipment provided delighted the kids, especially the hot tub. Patrick was very responsive to questions both before and during our stay. The lake is private and peaceful which we found attractive and well-suited to the kids. Adults seeking longer kayak outings might prefer a larger lake.

This whole weekend was perfect and so much of it had to do with this house! There were 12 of us and it was so spacious and everyone was able to have their own room and space. It was cozy and clean and was in such a beautiful setting. Pat was very communicative and helpful and welcoming. We would absolutely rent again!

This was a perfect place for our families to spend a summer week. The house was big enough for the 10 of us, even though we had to move some chairs around to fit us all at the same table. Patrick answered all my questions before the trip, checked in a couple of times (via text) during our stay to make sure all was ok and there was someone in the area to contact should we have needed anything. This was one of the best stocked houses I have rented - plenty of tableware and cooking items, paper towels, TP, soap and shampoo, towels and blankets. The small lake was a wonderful to kayak in the provided kayaks. Loved cooking s'mores around the fire pit, several of us used the in home gym, the basement refrig was nice for beverage overflow and the hot tub was an added bonus! Would consider renting this property again if we find ourselves up that way. Great location to several mountains for skiing in the winter!

My friends and I loved staying in Peru. There's a lot to do in the surrounding towns and Pat's house was great. It has an awesome hot tub and a great fire pit area. The house was clean and Pat was easy to communicate with. I would definitely stay here again.

Girls Getaway
We had a fabulous weekend enjoying the house and all of its amenities. Cooked group meals in large kitchen first night. Local restaurant on our next evening. Hiked the local trails. Kayaked in the pond. Then enjoyed hot tub under the stars. Would definitely go back.

We had a great trip to Peru. Patrick’s house is beautiful with tons of space for the group to hang out and enjoy the view. We loved taking advantage of the hot tub and lakeside fire pit. The house is located close to many cute towns In the area with shopping and restaurants to enjoy. Would definitely visit again!

Fabulous midweek getaway
Our group had a fabulous time enjoying the outdoor activities and then heading into Manchester for dinner at one of the many fine dining places. Pat’s house was short drive to everything. On the nights we stayed in, the large kitchen had everything we needed to prepare meals. Plenty of space for multiple cooks. The house was immaculate and well supplied. The house had ample space for our entire group. There was a cozy loft with views of the lake, which became a favorite reading spot. Large living room with lake views for everyone to gather. In addition, the new lower level was ideal for playing games, watching movies and working out. The hot tub was clean, large and a relaxing spot to watch the stars at night. The host was accommodating and responsive. I would definitely recommend staying at The Lodge on the Lake.

Spacious and Luxurious
Pat’s place was beautiful! While we explored a beautiful hiking trail and small town nearby, we also enjoyed our stay on the property just as much. From outdoors, the house is on a small lake you can kayak in and a fire pit for those nice fall nights under the brilliant stars! You can also enjoy the sounds of nature from the hot tub on the deck that overlooks the water. The house also has a small workout area, game area, and a sauna! We were quite comfortable and our only complaint is that we did not spend another couple days there. Pat was also a responsive host and made sure we were all set.

The stay at Pat's place was great. Manchester is close by, which has a nice downtown to explore. We took advantage of some of the nearby hiking trails. The house itself is well appointed and spacious. Loved relaxing in the hot tub at night surrounded by the peaceful quiet. It was also nice to be able to have morning coffee out on the deck with a view of the lake. Thanks again Pat!

Relaxing Week on the Lake
We were 13 friends from summer camp that met up for a reunion for a week and the property didn’t disappoint. The house was large enough to spread out, but intimate enough for us to hang out and catch up. The lake was amazing and we were able to swim and kayak to our heart’s content and we had near-nightly fires around the fire pit. The kitchen and dining rooms were spacious both for cooking and eating, and the foosball table was a huge hit. There were tons of summer activities around including putt putt, alpine slides, trails, historical homes, and we even met up with a famous local tiktoker to learn about the local historical cemeteries. And don’t forget the shopping in Manchester! Pat, the host was super responsive to our questions and a dream to deal with. Overall an awesome week was had by all!

Great summer getaway with extended family!
Loved this vacation spot! Very quiet location that is off the beaten path but close enough to a couple small towns that made shopping easy.. House was plenty big enough for our group of 10. Several recent upgrades! Patio and fire pit were a perfect place to wind down. Lake provided some fun for the kids...would definitely stay here again!

Summer Vacation
Pros:
This house accommated 16 family members very comfortably. The house is beautful and very clean. The deck, jacuzzzi and sauna were great! The caretaker was absolutely wonderful and went above and beyond assisting us.
Cons:
Even though the house was great, we experienced a couple of outages in the kitchen when cooking breakfast for our large group. The patio/firepit was nice, but it was under water several days due to the streams in that area so we didn't get to hang out there as much as we wanted too. The house is not necessarily on a lake, but more of a small body of water like a pond. We used the jacuzzi to cool off rather than the pond.

Fun Family Get-a-way
This is a beautiful property that easily accommodated our vacation with my large extended family. Patrick provided thorough information for all of our questions and even took the time to talk me through the layout of the house by phone so we could make a plan for room assignments ahead of time. The paddle board, kayaks, and game room provided a lot of fun for the old kids with us and the hot tub was a nice way to relax after jumping in the colder water of the lake. We struggled a little with the later check-in and earlier check out, but overall Patrick's house was a great experience and we would go back again!

Family Reunion
This was a perfect location for our first family reunion since BC (Before Covid). Though the weather didn't cooperate for several days, there was plenty of space for everyone to hang out, play games, work puzzles, gather for meals and just enjoy being together for the first time in a year and a half. Lots to do locally on the sunny days. The adults enjoyed Bromley Mountain as much as the kids did! Due to the weather, our final night was the first night we were able to enjoy the fire pit, with s'mores and a beautiful full moon!

Fantastic escape from the city
There's certainly a "wow" factor when you walk into the living area and get the double-height ceiling and view of the lake. The wood burning stove made it feel super cozy and kept the house surprisingly warm. The home is very spacious so we all felt like we could sprawl out and be comfortable. We made good use of the hot tub to warm up after hours of being out in the snow. With Stratton and Bromley so close, it was really easy to take advantage of the winter activities available. Highly recommend this home if you're in need of a retreat that feels very secluded, yet is convenient to anything you might want: shopping, hiking, skiing, horseback riding... or, honestly, I could have just curled up with a good book and not even left the house. Perfect Getaway
We loved our stay at the Lakeside Lodge! Checking in was extremely easy and Patrick was always responsive. The house was very clean and had everything you may need including plenty of kitchen supplies, towels, and extra blankets. The house itself is huge with plenty of areas for groups to hang out in. We enjoyed evenings in the hot tub and nights sitting by the fire playing games that were available to use. The location is very convenient with a local market just down the road and another full grocery store a few minutes farther. For skiing, there were several options all close by and Bromley mountain is under ten minutes away. We enjoyed exploring the nearby towns of Chester and Manchester which had cute shopping options and nice restaurants for lunch. Would love to come back to explore more of the area soon!

Absolutely loved this house. My family and I had a great time. The place is gorgeous, spacious and well maintained. The shoulder jets on the hot tub were amazing.
