This is contemporary architecture and interior design at its best. The Studio remains a favourite of our regular guests who still can't believe what you can fit into a 35m2 space!

Underfloor heating, polished concrete throughout and many hidden design features in the birch plywood walls, make this a unique and fun space. Every little detail is considered.

There’s a private garden to enjoy your morning coffee or your evening sundowners and a Bang and Olufsen portable speaker to provide the tunes! We've got lakeside sauna house with plunge pool for our guests' use and enchanting woodland paths throughout our 150 acre farm.

Wintertime is just as special as the summer in Fernwood. Draw the blinds, grab a good book and cosy up beside the wood burning stove. (Or stay in the bed and binge on your favourite Netflix series!)

At end of a country road and at the beginning of the Connemara Greenway, Fernwood is a true oasis with the benefit of being 2 minutes from Clifden town.

Our organic farm is on a 140 acre private estate comprising of native woodland and bog, on the shores of the Salt Lake. Walk out your front door to explore, in complete solitude, our 2km of woodland paths, the wonders of the Connemara bogland or relax in our newly constructed lakeside sauna house with plunge pool.

You can chose to stay in our new refurbished Studio conversion which is finished to the highest spec with underfloor heating, wood burning stove, sheepskin rugs and feather down duvets

For the ultimate experience chose our luxury treehouse dome/tent or better again a Stilt House Suite with private wood-fired Swedish Hot Tub.

Our stay at Fernwood was absolutely beautiful. We both work busy corporate jobs & wanted to get an opportunity to reconnect with nature & ourselves. I loved waking up in the morning and going down to the lake with my coffee and a book I also got to reignite my passion for cooking which I find i’m to tired for when I get home from work. The kitchen was well equipped, comfortable beds, great shower, and fire place

Everything is very well thought, the studio is perfectly organized with the most confortable bed. Beautiful view all around and the woods are an enchanted place with the private sauna that makes it very special.

The Studio was so nicely decorated with plants and cool design. We loved the fireplace and the sauna. The woods are truly magical, I walked the trails everyday and drank a nice sundowner at the lakeside.

Couple of nights break away in Clifden. The Studio apartment is stunning. Compact but still feels spacious. The studio has everything you need and the attention to detail is well considered. The studio is beautifully decorated. The surrounds are also gorgeous. Lovely short walks and rope bridges to explore. Anne was very warm and welcoming, as was their adorable dog!

Had a wonderful peaceful week in Fernwood enjoying the quiet location and lovely studio, close to lots of beaches and walks, including on the farm itself. The sauna and plunge pool were a bonus, and the plunge pool truly is a game changer. The studio accommodation was perfect, with everything that I needed. Anne even provided supplies to ward off the midges.

I liked how it was private and able to walk around the farm and feel at peace, not too busy but Abel to go into clifden for some food or drinks. Self catering and the little touches gave it such a homely feeling. Very unusual and beautiful sauna really made it.

I loved the location, close to Clifden but in nature. The aesthetics of the studio was lovely, good use of natural materials. We loved the sauna and plunge pool experience. I also love that everything is done consciously towards preserving the environment and a low carbon footprint.

So cosy in the studio while the rain hammered on the floor to ceiling window. The woodland paths are a treat to explore with the rope bridge over the river rushing to the lake. The sauna and plunge pool completed an anniversary trip to treasure.

The attention to detail, the sugar, tea bags and coffee freely available along with the fully stocked kitchen! The books were so interesting aswell. We loved the bathroom and sauna. Maybe some flip flops would be nice with the sauna too!

The property is amazing! Tucked away in the countryside surrounded my nature. I stayed in the studio house which was minimal and chic, it had everything you need including the most comfortable big bed. We went for a walk thorugh the forest and enjoyed the sauna and plunge pool over looking the lake. I can't wait to come back and stay in some of the other houses. I would highly recommend staying here!!

We had the most wonderful time at Fernwood. The attention to detail and the quality of the cottage was exemplary. Close to Clifton for access to food and restaurants, yet completely set in peaceful nature to allow for optimal relaxation. Quality shower and a fully stocked kitchen makes the stay that much more comfortable. Highly recommended the short forest walk in the farm down to the lake, or a stroll down the Greenway if you're looking for a longer stretch late afternoon.

We rented out the tree house dome and the studio and they were both great. The treehouse was such a unique experience! We also loved the walking trails around the property. We walked over the rope bridge, down to the lake, checked out the sauna and plunge pool and visited the owners farm to meet the donkeys :) I would highly recommend!

We stayed in "The Studio", which was beautifully appointed and had everything we could ask for/need for our stay. Beautiful grounds, lovely walking paths and scenery, and the perfect setting for a relaxing getaway. We explored the surrounding woods, had some fun on the tree swing and walked sound the lake and over the rope bridge. Enjoyed the view from our big gorgeous window and relaxing outside in the garden. Petted the donkeys and listened to the birds sing. Only regret is not staying longer

What an amazing place the lovely Anne & Simon have created in Fernwood. Myself and my partner stayed in their beautifully modern studio that catered for all our needs. The studio itself is beautifully designed from the log fire stove to the amazing bed that puts any 5 star hotel to shame. I cant wait to stay here again looking forward to staying in their treehouse dome and the newly opened stilt house.
