We are four adult sisters, 60+. The cabin was comfortable, had everything we needed for a good stay. It’s located right on the water and so convenient to all the sightseeing we wanted to do. I would highly recommend as our stay far exceeded our expectations.

Wonderful and peaceful stay. We brought a small boat and were able to put it on the side by hand carrying it . Lots of kayaks and standup paddle boards as well as plenty of floats . Bottom half of house stays cool as it is built in to the hill. able to keep cool with fans . Great time ! Plenty of life jackets . Washer and dryer on the small side but we managed . Could have used maybe a brownie pan :) Pots and pans and kitchen stuff was well equipped. Great stay !

This rental was exactly as presented, with great waterfront views of the lake, and easy access to the town of Damariscotta.

We staying with our 2 daughters and absolutely loved the cabin and the lake. They kayaked, paddle boarded and swam. The cabin itself was perfect for our family. I hope we are able to visit again!

This was a perfect lake location. Excellent for kayaking and also short distance to amenities. Best of both worlds!

We loved staying here for our anniversary! Warm sunny days and gentle breezes off the lake most days. Everything is provided that you might need with some fabulous lobster and restaurants close by. Our boat tour to see the Atlantic puffins was such a treat. Laura was very accommodating and helpful. A ten out of ten!

My husband and I adore this place and plan to return. It was clean and had everything we needed (kitchen and bathroom necessities, etc.). The cabin is right on the water (it appears to be a renovated boat house), has a large fire pit, has several kayaks and paddle boards for use, and has a large deck with a grill. Also had a hammock and a porch swing. It's the perfect summer weekend getaway!

This is our second visit to the "Kayakers' Cabin" and just as wonderful! It's so nice to have the option of a few day's stay as opposed to a full week which is hard to do with work. Thank you for sharing your sweet spot on my favorite Maine lake!

The cottage was perfectly positioned for the amazing lake front view. Inside the cottage was cozy and had everything we needed to cook our meals. Having two bathrooms made everyone more comfortable. The host was very accomodating and responsive. We hope to come back in the summer to swim in the lake and sit around the firepit on the shoreline. Thank you for sharing this special place.

Perfect location and size for a couple/small family getaway by the lake. The seating area outside by the fire pit was relaxing - we loved the lake view and its wildlife. We even enjoyed lunches at the table on the deck! We visited during the fall, but
a spring and/or summer visit would be amazing too! The amenities inside of the home included everything you would need for your stay. I wanted to give this location the full 5 stars, but the indoor couch/chair and primary bed could use some sprucing up, in my opinion. But overall, I would recommend this home! Wonderful location and great property management.

We very much enjoyed our stay in early October - we loved that the house was right on the water. It was cozy and comfortable - a perfect getaway spot for two - or more if you had kids in tow. We’ll definitely think about coming back sometime in the summer to enjoy swimming next time…

I stayed with my boyfriend for two nights. I am already planning a return trip with my twelve year old daughter and another trip with my girlfriends.
Just a short drive to town, property with plenty of beds, outdoor chairs, and kayaks/paddleboards makes this a fantastic retreat for couples, families, or friends.
I didn’t want to leave, I was so relaxed.

We were in the area for a couple of nights to coincide with a birthday dinner reservation and this place was great, on the lake and in the woods, with lots of towels, a tv and even foosball downstairs. Great spaces inside and out, and close encounters with Osprey, a Barred Owl and Loon! Highly recommend.

We loved staying at this little cabin by the water and felt at home almost immediately. We’ve been coming to the Damariscotta and Pemaquid area for 15 years but never really got to know the lake. Absolutely delightful and we visited all out favorite places- truly a gem on the water. Swimming and kayaking included!!!

One of my adult children and I spent a few days midweek in the cabin . It was perfect! The fire was already laid in the fire pit , the cabin so welcoming and comfortable. We felt immediately at home. Laura was incredibly responsive and so helpful with recommendations as well . We stepped out of the cabin and onto the Water. My only regret was that I wasn’t able to book more time ! I hope to be back very soon

Our family of 4 had a lovely time kayaking on the lake and playing foosball and other games in the cabin. We took advantage of fun activities in the mid-coastal Maine region, as well, such as the botanical gardens, Hardy Boat Cruises, and enjoyed a couple of visits to Round Top Ice Cream. The cabin was a great little base for exploring the area as well as a wonderfully relaxing and beautiful location to enjoy. We were pleasantly surprised at how quiet the lake was during a July weekend.

We had a wonderful long weekend at the cottage! It was just what we look for...a cottage vs a house, yet it had everything we needed! Loved the layout/remodel. Such pretty views of the lake. We enjoyed the property as well despite the voracious mosquitoes. Lovely porch style swing, a hammock and a great firepit lakeside. We read, had blueberry pancakes every morn (July in Maine...get the blueberries!), used our paddleboards and spent a lot of time in our old Boston Whaler fishing, swimming, tubing and just exploring the lake. We used to live in the area and loved the cottage's proximity to the town of Damariscotta. The lake is so large most rentals are a good 20+ minutes from town. If available, we would definitely stay again! :)
ps...the owner left a kind of 'camp log' which begins with her take on popular eateries, places of interest, etc. It was well done and thorough! We found a new favorite sandwich shop because of it! Find it in the main bedroom on the bookshelf ;)

Great getaway
The cabin was cozy and clean with a beautiful view. We spent our days in the water, kayaking and watching the fish jump and we absolutely loved the sandy beach. Thank you for your hospitality and we would definitely recommend this little peace of heaven.

A lovely view
The view of the lake is really lovely. Unfortunately, it rained during our entire stay so we didn't spend much outside, but I was dying to make a fire in the fire pit by the water. The cabin was comfortable, and we had a pleasant stay. My only complaint is that I wish we had received slightly clearer directions for how to check in. I messaged the owner through the VRBO app asking if there was some sort of lockbox code, but they didn't reply, so I texted and then they explained how to check in. We had travel problems, and arrived late, and the cabin isn't marked with a house number so we were driving up and down the gravel road trying to figure out where to go. I felt bad texting the owners at that hour, but I had no choice, and to their credit they responded quickly and explained where to go, so we weren't searching for too long. Once we checked in everything went smoothly. It was so nice to walk out to the living room each morning and see the lake right there.

Great place to relax away from the city
I rented the place for a week, to relax away from the city and replenish on some fresh air (guaranteed Covid-free ; ) ). The place is exactly as described on this website, with a stunning view of the (frozen) lake. The check in/out was seamless. Communication with the owner Luke was easy and clear. He was very helpful in answering any Q that I had. He even came to make sure that my car wasn't stuck after a snow fall !
A charming small town is 5 mins drive away, for groceries, etc. Several parks (hiking trails) are 10 mins drive away form the cabin !
In summary, I completely recommend this place for a quiet relaxing gateway.

Very clean, and taken care of. Great location on the lake
The host was very attentive and a wonderful person. The location on the lake is beautiful. It was a winter stay so I didn't get the opportunity to enjoy the lake as you would in the summer.

Quaint area and relaxing getaway
This was the perfect place to stay for our relaxing getaway. We loved the cabin. It was perfect for us. It was clean and near everywhere we wanted to go. The host promptly responds and had everything ready when we arrived. The view of the lake was lovely no matter what time of day. We had a wonderful experience with this host and our entire trip.

Fantastic Stay on Damriscotta Lake
Occasionally, you arrive at a place like this one and feel immediately at home, as if you already live there and to the extent reality hits you and you realize you don't own it, you want to own it. Upon arrival, the house was immaculate and the lake beckoning. Faced with a too short stay, we determined to take advantage of all this lovely lakeside retreat had to offer. We went on walks, paddleboarded, swam, sat on the swing and read, lounged in the hammock, napped with the the lake breeze blowing the curtains, ate outside, ate inside, ate in town, and played tons of games. At our very last moments, we peeled ourselves out of the water, puckered and happy, planning our return.

Amazing Lake Cottage
Our family of four (including two young kids) had an amazing time here! The cottage was clean and provided plenty of space for a week by the lake. Beautiful views, loon calls, a short drive to the center of Damariscotta, Oxbow Brewing right down the road - so many reasons to come back! The lake swimming in summer was excellent, too (bring water shoes, although it’s a sandy entrance). You won’t regret staying here!

Serene Getaway
It was a spur of the moment decision to book this getaway to just relax and hang out. Even though there are other homes around, you get a feel of privacy. This place is right on the water and the views are spectacular. The cottage is simple but it's all about what you see when you look out the window. We booked another weekend in July and will bring our granddaughter with us. The down stairs is finished off with bunk beads. It looks like a great place to swim and boat in the summer and the place is well stocked with games. I wouldn't call it fully stocked for cooking so if you are going to stay a long time, keep it simple with the cooking. Its a perfect winter get away or summer adventure.

Gorgeous location and property
This place is truly amazing! It could really be put to use well in the summer months for a family with kids! Winter months are better off for just a couple as the bunk room is not heated. Overall the place was well appointed and super clean. The owners were responsive and kind. Great place!!

Amazing stay!
It's hard to put into words how wonderful this cottage it. Literally right on the lake. The lake was frozen so we were able to get out to the middle at night and see the milky way and again in the morning to catch the sunrise. The sunsets here are equally beautiful. Lots of activity on the ice. We saw some folks ice fishing, snow machines, cross country skiers, and even a float plane landed and took off a few times right outside our window! Luke thought of everything for sure. Many board games, smart TV, portable heater, extra blankets, and everything you need to cook meals. The wood stove was an added bonus. The bed was super comfortable and all the linens were clean and soft. Do not hesitate to book this place. You'll be glad you did.
