Nice place, modern, spacious, clean. Easy parking. In town but not in the Old Port.

The unit was very nice and well furnished. However, the ac was not adequate for the unusually hot weather and the unit was very hot when we arrived. The suspicious individual camped out to the side several times and graffiti where we parked were not very welcoming.
where we parked did notwent.acomfort.

Kingsley was a great and very communicative host and the place was in a great location. Nicely renovated and lots of little necessities were present, including a fully stocked kitchen. Place was very warm upon arrival but did cool off, but I would not recommend this unit for 6 adults as the loft is not a valid bedroom in the warm summer months. Overall would stay again!

My friends and I stayed here in early September and we loved the location. You are within walking distance of countless restaurants and bars. We loved Roma that’s literally steps away and Bramhall that’s below Roma. There are also 2 coffee shops just right down the street and convenience stores.
One issue we had was how hot it was in the unit. When we visited Maine, it was during one of the hottest weeks of the year and there was no air conditioning running in the unit when we arrived. It was hotter inside than it was outside (93 degrees). It took about 36 hours to cool down to 76 degrees. It would have been nice for a least one of the a/c units to be running to circulate some of the air. We also could not really go up to the loft area because it was so hot. There is also no elevator since it’s an older building, so pack light or be prepared to carry your bags up 3 flights of stairs. This was all things that we didn’t really think of or consider when booking.

The location in Portland is great, easily accessible to everything. Quaint accommodations.

The location is hard to beat and the apartment was lovely. Even in the hot days the apartment cooled down quickly. The two bathrooms were a really great plus. The lofted room was hot and the third bed was not the most comfortable for a long stay. Just be prepared if you’re looking to sleep five or six adults for many nights. Overall great and would book again!

A gorgeous old building with a very modern renovated apartment. The apartment doesn't offer much in the way of kitchen supplies, but with this amazing location in this awesome food city, you should just eat and drink out anyway. Kingsley was responsive and available if we needed anything during our stay. Only one of the bathrooms had shampoo, etc and a hair dryer. There is no central A/C, but a window unit in the main bedroom and a portable unit in the living area. Both are loud but effective for the warm Portland summer. The other bedroom has a fan but could use an air conditioner.

Great location to stay in Portland, Maine
We had an excellent trip to Portland, Maine in mid-September for a family wedding.
The experience was enhanced by the VRBO properties we stayed in – two apartments both owned by the same host – Kingsley, on the second and third floors of a building, very well situated in Portland’s West End area. The apartments were spacious, clean and comfortable and ample parking was provided.
This apartment on the third floor was advertised as sleeping 6, which included a mattress in the boutique loft (up a narrow spiral staircase) which was not very convenient for our two grand children and we had to bring the mattress down to the main floor. A proper bed there is needed for the apartment to accommodate 6 persons or else a sleeper sofa on the spacious main floor.
There were insufficient towels/hand towels when we checked in (as someone else has also commented). However, the host was extremely accommodating and on receiving a message from me, promptly provided the necessary additional towels within an hour or so.
We gave a 4-star to the check in process, only because of the uncertainty of the same. Our host though did email us when we enquired, that he would send us the details on the morning of our start date - unfortunately we received details of this process during our flights to Portland.
Other than the above, our entire experience at the apartments was excellent.
A positive, helpful host is always a big boon when staying away from home at rented properties. Kingsley was the epitome of a good host! He was also very helpful in shipping back to us our 8-year-old granddaughter’s favorite soft toy that she had left behind. Thank you Kingsley.
We have no hesitation in recommending this place.

Nice place but could use some work...
Wifi so slow (I measured <20 Mbps!) that TV kept shutting down for "no internet connection". Couldn't finish watching a movie on my own subscription. Also too slow to cast a stream from an iPhone without hanging up each minute.

Great Place
We very much enjoyed staying at Kingley’s property for our long weekend stay in Portland. Located across from a delicious bakery and about a 10-15 minute walk to the Old Port Neighborhood, it’s super convenient to all of the major attractions in Portland. We will definitely stay here again when we return to Portland.

Great weekend getaway
Overall, the property was perfect for us.
Pros:
*Great central location, close to bars and restaurants and an easy walk or drive down to the Old Port area
*Loved that it had 2 full bathrooms--we were 2 couples traveling together so it was nice to not have to share a bathroom
*Unit was spacious--plenty of room to relax
*Had two parking spaces
*The rate was reasonable
There were a few minor reasons that I didn't give it 5 stars.
Cons:
*Unit is really close to the hospital so it could be noisy at night with ambulances, etc.
*There were AC units, but the temperature control was a challenge
*It would have been nice if extra towels were provided--we only got one bath towel each and then a random towel to use as a hand towel
*It would have been nice if the house had toiletries, laundry detergent, etc. It doesn't cost much to provide things like this and makes a big difference in the experience. Most places I've stayed have provided basic toiletries and welcome snacks
*It would have been nice if there was communication beyond the check in instructions. There was no note or instructions in the unit and we didn't know what we needed to take care of before leaving. I sent a message through the app when we left and didn't hear anything back. Again, most places will leave a welcome note with favorite places nearby, etc. as well as checkout instructions
*The unit needs more decoration. There is only one piece of art on the walls in the entire unit. It made little issues with the drywall, tiling, etc much more obvious because there wasn't anything else to focus on
I know that this stuff is really picky, but it makes the difference between having a really good experience and an amazing one.

Great Location
Overall our stay was very good. The location of the apartment is great! It’s in a beautiful old building. Walking distance to a lot. The little bar next door was nice in the evening. Everything was clean. The host was great at communicating and offered tons of local suggestions. We liked everything we tried! The only things that I think could be improved on would be little conveniences. The listing states it sleeps 6 and we are a family of 5 yet we only had 4 bath towels, 4 sets of silverware, etc. A few extra touches other rentals do that make me feel more welcome are small things like starter toiletries, some basic spices (the host did offer to bring some), coffee filters, that kind of stuff. We try to cook lots of meals while we travel since eating out constantly with 5 people gets crazy expensive. I recommend staying here. Thank you!

Property manager went above and beyond.
We stayed at this property during an unseasonably hot few days. It was up to 95 degrees outside. Kingsley brought in 3 additional AC units to help us stay cool.
Very clean, great location.
