When booking on line you are never 100 percent sure that the house will be all that you hope for. However this was not the case with Casa Costello. The accommodations were beautiful, comfortable and scenic. But that was not the best part. Mauricio the Concierge, Karen the housekeeper and Dillion the groundskeeper were an added bonus. They were committed to make our stay exceptional. It wouldn't have been the same without them! We had a lovely time.

Beautiful home. It has so much character. Beautiful views in every room. We had a great time at this property. Absolutely wonderful for the two days we were there. The staff on site is super helpful. The walk down is definitely not for the faint of heart. And walking up is even more so going to give you your exercise for the day. So be prepared for that and hopefully have a 4 x 4 vehicle like it states. The monkeys let themselves be known sometimes. And it was absolutely serene and beautiful. Would definitely return!

We held our annual retreat at Casa Castilo. It was a perfect setting with beautiful views of Espadilla South Beach in the background. Each room has its own AC unit, which guarantees a comfortable environment for sleeping and provides a sometimes necessary respite from the heat and humidity. The pool was wonderful, we saw howler and capuchin monkeys there often. Maurizio was a great communicator and cared for anything we needed, including a private chef to cook the local cuisine we wanted to experience. I look forward to the next time we get to stay here!

The house is great with plenty of indoor and outdoor space to enjoy the beauty of Costa Rica. Monkeys and toucans visited the property and entertained us with their antics and behaviors. If you get a chance to stay at this location, take it … you won’t be disappointed!

Great house, great views
Beautiful well maintained house. Alex was very helpful and was available for any questions. We had a group of 15 and everyone had a great time. Monkeys came right to the patios, which was pretty amazing to see. The lady who came to clean every day was fantastic as well.

The home was beautifully designed with great views of the ocean. Lovely pool and great sitting area. Each bedroom has own bathroom which is convenient. There could be a few more amenities in the bedroom like end tables at each side of the bed with a light for reading. The manager Alex is beyond wonderful and fully available for all needs. Excellent maid service and chef. All in all a great stay.

I (single mom) brought my 3 teenage sons for a week vacation. My first vacation with my kids ... go big right?! I fell in love with Costa Rica & Manuel Antonio — and Casa Costillo is amazing. My kids “snapped” video from the beautiful adventurous STEEP drive down the street and driveway to our secluded home for the week and the “oohs and aahs” throughout our initial tour with Alex. That says a lot right?! Alex was 💯 accommodating, helpful and arranged excellent adventures for us .... and introduced us to the best Chef in the country .... you must request Glenda. The 2-3 meals we tried from recommended restaurants did not come close to the flavors and combinations Glenda and Anjelo (son) would prepare. My boys requested Her french toast every morning. They even prepared a Thanksgiving dinner for us!
And the surrounding beauty, nature, Wild life, views. I couldn’t get enough. It’s hard to describe what it’s like to be awakened in the AM by the pounding feel of monkeys in the morning running across my roof.
If any of this resonates with you, don’t hesitate and go for it. You won’t regret it ... fair warning... you will need to hike up a steep driveway for any tours. We didn’t mind at all.

It was great
Casa Castillo was absolutely beautiful! Spacious, all the amenities to make our trip absolutely perfect. The balcony's, the views, the pools, everything was well maintained, clean and perfect. Bedrooms and living spaces were great. Great kitchen with everything you need to prepare a great meal or have a chef come in and prepare it for you! We had Chef Glenda come in one night, she was awesome!! Her daughter Tiffany assisted and helped make the night memorable! Our group was made up of 8 adults and 1 toddler. The home is not child proof but we were able to make it safe for Baby Otto. He had an awesome time too! Check out Otto sees the world blog! The location was great, near the beaches, near Manuel Antonio, some great restaurants at the corner of the street. Amazing places to view the sunset over the Pacific. We had Monkeys come visit and many birds. The pictures do a good job of showing the place off, but being there is the real treat! Alex our host was incredibly helpful, from helping plan our trip to Costa Rica/Manuel Antonio, to setting up excursions, recommmending restaurants, and even having his lovely wife baby sit Otto! I can't say enough about the home, our host or Costa Rica! If Costa Rica is not on your list of places to visit, you need to consider adding it! Great time! Thanks Alex!

Beautiful view, excellent space to accommodate a large crowd. Monkeys and beautiful nature surrounds
3.5 stars. The space was ideally located not far from breathtaking beaches and the entrance of the State Park. The house was spacious and accommodated a very large group of our families, and comfortably sleeps more than 12 guests. The nature and beauty of the jungle surrounds the house and the howler monkeys loud roar woke us up the first couple of mornings until we got used to them. My only complaint was the steep hill to the house could only be accessed by a 4X4 vehicle due to the steep decline/incline the final 50 yards or so, and therefore our group had to walk that steep incline every morning (not for the faint of heart or elderly). There was also a mix up with our parking spot at the top of this hill, but that was more a complaint towards our neighbours. Alex was very helpful with advice and booking of activities, and quite friendly and accommodating. The maid service was an added touch, with clean laundry folded on our nightstand at the end of the day! Very nice. I'd recommend staying.
