Truly magnificent views of the Pacific Ocean and the rugged Southern Oregon Coast await at Rainbow Rock 303, a two-bedroom, two-bathroom condo in a spectacular oceanfront setting on a rocky bluff in Brookings. A stunning escape in every season, this condo will uniquely position you for a romantic escape, a couples' retreat, winter storm watching, summer beachcombing, or some of the most scenic hiking on the entire Oregon Coast.
The living space is inviting and comfortable, offering plush furnishings, a fully appointed kitchen, and a private washer/dryer to refresh your salty bathing suits and hiking clothes at the day's end. But the heart of this condo awaits outside on the oceanfront balcony, where you can take in a dramatic, 180-degree view of the ocean, the sea stacks and small islands that sit just offshore, and the California coastline off in the distance to the south. If you follow the short trail down the bluff from this small, gated community, you'll reach a secluded, sandy beach that's perfect for strolling, tidepooling, and exploring the rocky caves.
What's nearby:
Rainbow Rock is a tranquil community of five oceanfront buildings that's truly special in its seclusion. The community owns the entire bluff down to the ocean, with access restricted to owners and guests. Here on the southern border of the Samuel H. Boardman State Scenic Corridor, which is widely regarded as the most beautiful stretch of shoreline in Oregon, you can meet up with the Oregon Coast Trail right on the grounds of the property, allowing you to reach Cape Ferrelo (just over a mile north) and scenic spots along the entire 12-mile length of the corridor. Harris Beach State Park is two miles south, with the charming little coastal town of Brookings just one mile beyond, where you can find every convenience and even pick up fresh crabs at the docks in season. This is also a region that was seemingly designed for scenic drives, with dramatic ocean vistas and gorgeous rocky shorelines for more than 100 miles north and incredible groves of old-growth California redwoods - including Jedediah Smith Redwoods State Park (25 miles) - to the south.

The views were incredible and the beach was perfect. The unit was quiet and relaxing, but simple things like pots, pans, dishes and silverware could definitely use some upgrading. I think for the price of the unit you should be able to expect better kitchen utensils. Overall though, it was awesome.

Property was as described. Easy check in and out. Well stocked. The path to the private beach was wonderful. The views from the balcony were fantastic!

Proximity to the beach, privacy, proximity to scenic spots.

We absolutely loved the stunning view of the beach and ocean from this condo. It’s unbeatable. Condo was perfect for our needs. Definitely recommend this rental !

The veiw is breathtaking. The beds are comfortable. The pillows were flat and hard. Bathroom supplies were generous but no spatula or other normal cooking utensils in condo. Pans were scratched. But the bare floors made our feet dirty(no shoes allowed in unit) and the carpet was full of dirt spots and stains. We would not stay here again.

A nice clean place well stocked and awesome views. Don't forget to take the path to the beach which feels like your own private spot!

This property is a great place to stay.
Spacious, comfy with wide open views and a private path to beach.
Highly recommended.

Over the years we have stayed in different units at Rainbow Rock and have always enjoyed our stays. The views, the quietness and the residents we have interacted with have kept us coming back. It's the perfect place to kick back and forget the "real world"!

The property is super easy to find. There was always parking available. The unit itself has a weird smell, but we got used to it pretty fast.
The floor plan is nice and open with lots of comfy seating. The view of the ocean is amazing!!! There is also a trail down to the private beach which was perfect to watch the sunset!
I will definitely stay here again if I ever find myself in the area again. :)

This place seemed to be a retirement facility. We received a lot of mean glares everytime we arrived. The appartment was old. It had a nice view of the ocean but was too scared to go out on deck because it felt very unstable. The beds were so hard and old that we actually checked out a day early. pillows were old and uncomfortable. Kitchen didn't have proper cooking ware. We had to go buy. Water pressure for shower and toilet was really bad. 1 towel was dirty. Freezer was stained/dirty with yellow on it.

Some of the reviews mention the carpet stains, it’s a white carpet in a short term rental - honestly I was expecting worse. Regardless of the small stain here and there you can tell it is cleaned regularly AND it feels nice underfoot. Isn’t that what really matters?
As far as being “dated” I don’t know about that. I’d say “no frills” but the place has its charm. Kiddos love the coffee/sand table too.
I’d highly recommend!

The beach front views were breath taking.

Location and view were great. Condo needs attention and updates to woodwork, lighting, fireplace area, and rearrange furniture to look out window for view.

The unit had basics covered, essential kitchen items, but not much character in the decorations or furnishings. The keypad lock didn't work and we had to contact customer service to gain access. Loved the views, the traffic noise not so much.

My husband and I loved our stay. It had everything we needed to make our stay enjoyable. And the view was fabulous!

The view is fabulous! Access to beach doable over some rocks with my walking sticks. A 1970’s vibe and clean.

The view from the kitchen, dinning room & out on the deck is fabulous. We only got to see it when we first arrived because by the next day, fog for the rest of our 5 days blocked the view.

This place is cool. It’s dated but well maintained. Great views with an amazing private beach. Very quiet . Would book this again in a heartbeat.

Both the condo and the location were lovely, and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. However, it also smells weird- probably due to humidity in the carpets. Finding the actual unit was harder than it should have been. It would have been a lot easier if we had been given a building identifier (Building B) in addition to the unit number. The 10 am checkout also seems unreasonable (we ourselves are hosts and find that such an early check out doesn't work for most guests). Still, these were minor inconveniences, and we look forward to returning.

Great location, clean; too much road noise in background competing with sounds of crashing waves; smelled stale, must we first got there - turned on fan, opened balcony door and was fine within a half an hour; kitchen cabinets functional but pretty beat up; second bed needs a new mattress - 3 inch foam topper doesn't compensate for old worn mattress; Condos are well-kept paint and maintenance; beach area is wonderful - just a little steep trail in and out, but well-maintained; like the relative isolation from town and closeness to state parks and trails; appliances are good; plenty of hot water; comfortable furniture; south Oregon coast is just great with lots of excursions to go on; enjoyed fishing out of Brookings Harbor

We loved the location and the private beach (it is a hike, and you have to walk across a section of driftwood and rock to the sand). Bedrooms were nice. Seating was nice.
The big disappointment/frustration was how poorly stocked the kitchen was. No cookie sheet, no casserole dishes, no spatulas (the bowl scrapper, or pancake flipper kind), no mixing/serving bowls, no functioning can opener (the one they have does not work), no ladle, no measuring cups or spoons, no water pitcher, no blender (well, there is one, but it’s from the 60s), one single hot pad. Bring your own knives for cooking, and scissors. Fridge needs an update as well as the drawers are hard to open and the shelves in the door are all broken. I know we had to rearrange our meal plans because of this, and want others to be aware so they know what they need to bring. They also need another mat for inside the house at the entry since they ask for you to remove shoes—there’s not enough space for more than one person at a time to go in and take off their shoes.

The view from the condo was beautiful! The condo was clean, but rather dated., especially in the kitchen. We did find everything we needed, even a small fan we used in the bedroom.

Girls trip!
My best friend and I stayed the weekend and had a wonderful time. It’s clean, comfortable and you can’t beat the view! We’ll be back for sure!

We loved renting this condo!! The view was spectacular!!! Location was close to town. The private trail to the private beach was lovely (for those that have health/joint/mobility issues it may not be ideal). The condo’s living, dining, bedrooms and bathrooms were all great size and well equipped.
Our only negatives were the kitchen needs an update (especially the fridge), it was lacking drinking and coffee cups (had lots of wine glasses though). We also never found a clothes iron (but there was an ironing board) and I was hoping for a hair dryer too, but there was none.
We would rent again!

My Birthday Weekend
We have stayed at Rainbow Rock many times before in several different units. In comparing rates with other condos, this one seems a bit overpriced. It's not that it wasn't clean because it was. It's not because of the location because you can't go wrong with the views from all of the condos - magnificent! It was the lack of upkeep maintenance that disappointed us. The finish on the wood cabinets are worn down to the bare wood. The refrigerator has seen better days and is missing some of the shelving. In fact, it's not even the fridge shown in the listing! The area rug in the living room, although very clean and pretty, is a trip hazard because the corners are curled up badly. Although my comments are only my opinion, I think the owners would be wise to invest in a little repair maintenance if they are going to continue to charge the higher rates. I don't object to paying for quality, but I do expect to receive it once I've paid.

Great view and beach
The property is as shown and particularly as reviews state
Dated, very slippery shower, etc. but the view makes up for and defects. Sit on the deck or walk down to the bench and watch sunset or sunrise, spectacular.

Gorgeous, Restful
The view is spectacular! The condo was well and thoughtfully furnished, and the beach was incredible.

Beautiful view, wonderful home!
This was the perfect place for a recent "girlfriend" weekend! The beds were comfortable, extra towels and linens were provided, water pressure was awesome, the TV worked perfectly and allowed us to "binge watch" a few shows on Netflix and the Oregon Ducks football game! The orientation of the deck allows for both morning and afternoon sun -- so lovely. The kitchen was well equipped with utensils, knives, wine opener, blender, crock pot, toaster, and even a panini maker! There were left-over containers, some tea, sugar, basic spices, even a Brita water jug in the frig. There are enough wine and margarita glasses for an army! The coffee pot was a Kuerig (no coffee pods provided) but I noticed that in the photos prior to our arrival and actually brought my own drip pot, coffee, and filters. There were puzzles, binoculars, a chess set, comfortable chairs and so much more! While the cupboards are a bit outdated -- who cares? Everything was clean and just delightful! The refrigerator did seem to not keep things super cold, but the freezer worked just fine. Also a big thank you to the VACASA folks for wonderful communication and for letting us check in a bit early and check out a bit late. The gate code and key box codes worked perfectly. We had no problems with anything! Thanks again -- we'll be back!

We've stayed at Rainbow Rock multiple times and know how nice these units are, so we were quite taken aback by the state of this one. It's not at all kept up to the standard of the other units. A broken window frame, broken blinds, tattered screen door, loose tiles on the balcony - it needs a little love. And by love, I mean the owner really needs to put some money into basic repairs. It's like the poor man's version of Rainbow Rock condo, except you're still charged the same price.
There was a hiccup with the room not being cleaned when we arrived (owner forgot to request housekeeping when he left), and we were very pleased with the prompt and friendly customer service response from Vacasa!

Amazing Breathtaking
If I could give 10 stars I would. The best place I have stayed. Breathing views. Amazing trails. Only 1 problem, refrigerator never got cold, but freezer worked great. Other then that, Thank you we can't wait to back again this time next year. Fairytale come true.

Views are underrated
The pictures of the views don’t do it justice. That’s the first thing you see when you walk in and is breathtaking every single time. The only thing that I would change is the smell in the home. It has kind of an older home smell. Other than that, beautiful place!!

Minimalist
Our overall impression is that this condo would benefit by some attention. The house keepers did a fabulous job of cleaning as everything was sparkling! The kitchen needs attention: only 1 dinner fork, only plastic tumblers, toaster only toasts one side of bread, the refrigerator barely kept food cold, and the only coffee pot was a Keurig (with no k-pods) which was not mentioned in the amenities. The microwave worked great! The condo was comfortable but lacked those little details that turns a so-so trip into a time to remember. We would not return to this particular place again.

Beautiful view
We had a great stay, and even better weather, wish it was longer. Couldn't ask for a better view, and a pretty trail down to the beach. Private and comfortable. Hope to stay again in the future.

Great Beach but Worn Condo
Beach front was fantastic.. very scenic and tide pools were awesome! Condo definitely needs some attention. Many things not working well or broken. Ie, tear in screen door, broken window frame, refrigerator was not cooling food well, carpet is really dirty, kitchen light burnt out/no replacement bulbs and missing kitchen essentials.. such as no cookie sheet. Would be helpful to know kuerig type coffee maker.

Nice place but terrible Vacasa communication
Overall we liked this place but there were problems with some of the features. The view from this condo is unmatched and the place was clean. The condo was well stocked but the coffeemaker was a Keurig, which is ok except that they don’t supply coffee pods. We discovered that in advance so brought some of our own but an unsuspecting guest might have issue with that.
There were some problems: the master bedroom window wouldn’t open for fresh air (second bedroom would) and a part of the window frame was broken.
Also, the shower door has a gap in the master bedroom… water leaks on the floor.
Another problem was that the refrigerator wasn’t cool enough and didn’t keep our milk safely cool. We emailed Vacasa and got a call from someone named Travis who tried to get a repairman out to no avail. One repair person told him that the refrigerator needed to be manually defrosted and they’d had issues with other similar refrigerators. He suggested I turn off the refrigerator for a couple of hours to defrost it. That did not solve the problem as the frost inside the freezer was extremely heavy. The next morning, I turned it off again, opened the freezer door and used a hair dryer to defrost it. That finally solved the problem
In my conversations with Travis he told us that we would receive a credit for our troubles. To date no indication of any credit applied to our account and Vacasa has ignored our many messages. It is because of the poor communication plus the few mechanical and cosmetic issues that we have rated this a three star. The condo, otherwise was pretty nice and quiet.
We have used VRBO to reserve vacation units prior but never one that had Vacasa as a property manager. Next time we reserve, we’ll be avoiding Vacasa. :(

Wonderful vacation spot
Private access to a peaceful secluded beach made mornings magical. Everything we needed to be comfortable could be found in the house. Host was responsive. Brookings was a great place to explore.

Walking in to this spacious, well furnished condo, you immediately see the incredible ocean view. The balcony, which is protected from the wind, allows one to take in the scenery. From the condo there is a short walk, down a private trail to the beach where you can walk and admire Rainbow Rock.
