The location is great, it's a quiet and small street at the edge of Valletta near the water. We slept well and overall found the apartment suitable for our needs. The communication with Caterina the host was easy and quick. She sent me all the information beforehand, and the check-in was hassle-free even that we arrived almost at midnight. Even in this late hour she was available and stayed in touch to make sure we managed to check in and that we have everything we need.
It is a cave-like apartment, damp and humid. Most of the furniture and the equipment was old, dirty, and/or half-broken. (For example: the shower leaks water on the floor; one chair had a broken leg; the washing machine was broken and there was really smelly water inside; the tap in the kitchen squeals when you open it; the toilet does the same after you flush it; the standing fans were not clean; the dresser was smelly; laundry rack is half-broken and dirty; even some cups and plates were dirty.) The photos are too flattering, I assume they were taken a few years ago, when the apartment was in better shape. The light in the apartment is low, especially in the shower. When we checked-in to the apartment there was a strong bad smell in it. We thought it's some kind of chemical; eventually we found out it came from a few wet rugs with floor cleaner liquid that were left in the apartment. The owner suggested that we turn on the fans and the ventilation system, which we did, but it did not solve the problem. Unfortunately, this was not the only bad smell we encountered in the apartment, there was mold-smell in a few places including wardrobe and kitchen.

Excellent location and comfortable accomodation.

The flat is big and well located in the center of Valletta. Our host was very nice and arranging.
The humidity was so intense that we had trouble staying in the flat. It is really unfortunate because the flat is really nice. The smell was so thick it was really uncomfortable...Lack of natural light.

The location is perfect and the host is very kind and helpful.
The house provides you with everything that you need.
It is seldom you get to stay in a house with so much character :)
Like others already mentioned a very very minor point is the smell due to the the fact that there are less windows but it is not at all a deal breaker.

Position close to centre

Very good choice .. close to the centre of Old Town Valletta.
Characteristic old traditional Maltese townhouse ,spacious ,clean and very well equipped..
There is smell due to the dampness of the basement but staying in such a beautiful old building makes it a small detail..
We would definitely stay here again!!!

This apartment is really unique! It is a gorgeous basement apartment in an old building with beautiful Maltese tiles and decor. It was very clean and comfortable and had everything we needed. Overall would recommend.
We had some issues with the washing machine, our clothes came out smelling terrible and due to the dampness of the basement, the clothes took three days to dry. There were also flies everywhere due to the dampness of the apartment.

The apartment was awesone. Clean, spacious, equipped with all that you may need. The location is great, a few minutes from the center of the Old Town. Bars and restaurants are close by. Caterina is a perfect host. Extremely nice and helpful!

First of all, Caterina was just brilliant, good communication and was there if you needed her via WhatsApp.
The location was absolutely perfect, just 2 mins away from St Elmos Fort and only 5/10 mins walk to the centre of Old Town valletta. It was very very quiet but you could be at a bar/shop in less than 5 mins.
Very old and traditional maltese townhouse and you get the entire ground floor. Being a traditional townhouse there wasn't much natural light but that was great when you want to sleep.
Well equipped kitchen, we had a living room area with a TV and table to eat at.
Just felt like a home from home really and being able to stay in such a beautiful old building was amazing.
I would and will be staying here again
Thank you!!

An outdoor space would have been nice

Spacious and clean accommodation, nice furniture and decorations, well equipped kitchen, owners careful at detailes. A genuine maltese house. Looks like in the pictures.
Placed at the end of the main street of Valletta, near Sant' Elmo port, in a quirky conner. The apartament is like a coach and has just 2 windows, at the beginning and at the end, therefore there is no natural light.

The apartment was very clean and spacious. The location is super close to the center of Valetta but still very quite. The owner was super helpful and very quick to reply to any questions.
In the beginning it was quite cool, but the owner provided us with radiators.

Host - Caterina is extremely nice and very responsive, she has ensured the entire trip that me and my friend were ok and had everything that we need.
Location - the apartment is situated in the loveliest historical center of Valletta, really quiet neighbourhood and in the same time extremely close to the fun side of the city, bars and restaurants, 5-7 minutes walk.
Apartment - full house at semi basement, waggon-style: entrance hall with a sofa and a nice table, full equipped kitchen, a big bedroom with a queen size bed and big storage space, a second bedroom with a bunk bed and a nice storage space as well, and lastly the bathroom with walk-in shower. The construction is entirely made of stone in the maltese style, that is why even it may get cold, the 3 mobile heaters inside the apartment will do their job. For summer time the apartment for sure it's awesome and a real cooling space, a getaway from high temperatures. The apt is equipped also with a washing mashine.
I wouldn't say that it's something that I didn't like, since me and my friend were away in our Malta trips the most part of the day, but in case someone is a little claustrophobic, you should take into account that you have some natural light only in the last bedroom, at the end of the apartment, due to the fact that it's a semi basement construction.

The accommodation is in a perfect location, just a stone throw away from the restaurants, cafes and bars. also, the number one attraction in Valetta - St John's Cathedral is just a 5 mins walk away. The apartment is in the very centre of the beautiful city of Valetta. Owner was very responsive and reachable. The apartment has all the amenities one can think of along with the nice comfortable beds. It's a perfect 10 on 10 for me.
Can't think of anything

location good but you need to be ok with many steps
the host was terrific and good at communicating
it was very clean
the sheets didn’t fit the bed
it would have been nice if the kitchen had had usable coffee and sugar and not dried out container. and it would have been nice if there had been soap

Spent 4 days in the house and it was amazing. Very good position, very quiet and peaceful. Few minutes walking from everything, bars, restaurants, shops etc. The accommodation was super clean, it is very large and fully equipped. Caterina is an amazing host, she is very nice, helpful and really makes you feel welcome. Love it!
Nothing. Everything was OK.

The position is really good with bars and restaurants nearby but far enough to be very peaceful - also close to war museum and beautiful sea views - really perfect location. The accommodation is spacious and very well equipped with a full kitchen, plenty of storage, sockets and fans. The main bedroom is huge. This is a traditional Maltese flat at ground level.

The communication was extremely good. The accommodation was perfectly close to the city centre and Caterina was a really sympathetic host.
