Nice property and very convenient walk to MVP arena

The apartment worked well for my colleague and me while we were at a conference in town. There is nothing fancy or unique, but it is clean. Worked well for two people on a budget. Not the worst but I would likely not stay here again.
Pros:
Owner is very responsive in the app. When we figured out that the heat wasn't working, he responded quickly and resolved the issue by nightfall. The kitchen is outdated, but it was nice to have a fully functioning kitchen to use during our stay. The bedding, towels, and overall space are clean. The check-in process is easy and contactless.
Cons:
Immediate neighborhood is sketchy. There are several people on drugs in the immediate vicinity, which made walking around uncomfortable, especially after someone accosted and shoved my coworker as we were walking down the street. The listing is outdated. Many of the amenities and decor are not there. The washer and dryer are in a closet full of stuff and inaccessible w/out contacting the manager a day beforehand to use them. There is no gaming system. The couch is incredibly uncomfortable, sagging, and lopsided. We ended up sitting around the table. Bedrooms do not have mirrors, and the light switch in the back bedroom is just a suggestion. It also does not seem like someone checks on the property before guests arrive. When we arrived, the gas was turned off (not any fault of the owner), apartment was freezing, and stove did not work. Bed is pretty uncomfortable. TV streaming was laggy.

The apartment was very nice and cozy!

It was the perfect setup. Plenty of parking right in front, 5 minutes from our event, and the property had everything we were looking for. It was very clean and spacious enough for two people to coexist. Getting in and out was easy. We would have liked to use the deck but weather did not allow.
4.3
Close to everything downtown. Great location when attending events at MVP arena. Off street designated parking is a very nice bonus for this location. Host was very easy to communicate with and very responsive.

Property is located right near downtown and the MVP arena! Host was very accommodating.

I agree with the reviewer that said it's clear someone cleans the place, but that's it. It's a historic property, and yet the character has been eliminated. It is sparse and depressing. The floors are cheap and uneven. There is nothing artistic or detail-oriented about the decor. One of the lamp shades was melted in one part. Melted! The "plants" were plastic. Our bed was broken and therefore collapsing in the middle and extremely uncomfortable (and it was an overly soft and non-supportive mattress). The cot mattress our son slept on was so thin it was more like a mattress topper than a mattress. each metal bar could be felt through it. There were pillows without protectors, which is gross. There were fingerprints on the kitchen cabinets. There were ants and many small flies in the shower (which is totally bizarre to operate), and yes the bathroom fan makes a horrible grinding noise. My husband said none of the controllers to the game console worked. The air conditioners were in, and working, which was appreciated since it was so hot, but they needed to be cleaned badly (as in, take out the filters, etc). The communication with the manager was excellent, and this is the stand out about this property. The whole building is apartments that appear to be short term rentals. It's clear that there is high turnover and minimal investment. I actually dreaded returning to this place at the end of the day, and it made our weekend overall quite uncomfortable.

Not at all comfortable.

The property was -fine-, as in it provided shelter, water, a set of beds that had clean sheets, and it's clear that someone does come in and clean the apartment. There is a nice park behind it, and the block it's on is indeed historic. However, the apartment is just dingy and run down. It has stains on the walls. The fan in the bathroom makes an atrocious sound. Some of the smoke alarms were taken out and the one that was still there was beeping incessantly. The blinds are all broken on the back door. The building is right next to the highway also.
My colleague and I chose the apartment because we were looking forward to having a space to cook and relax and not have to spend all our time in a hotel or our office. But we felt so depressed in this apartment that we actually didn't sleep there the second night.
It's clear that those who are operating the building do care about the folks who are staying there-- they are very responsive and nice. If you're budget is your priority, then this is an option, but there are so many hotels that provide a nicer situation for a similar price.

Ok for a cheap place to stay, but I won't be staying again
