About this house rental
Heart of the Sunrise is a spacious, private, oceanside, saltbox home among the trees with three decks near the Point in Emerald Isle. 3-minute nature walk to the beach on a private path from the neighborhood.
Open floor plan on the top floor with a half bath, kitchen with two eat-in islands, dining and living room. Lots of natural light with ceiling to floor windows and an upper deck to take in the tree tops. Kitchen has pots and pans (including a crock pot), two coffee makers (including a Keurig), plates, cups, eating utensils all provided and a dishwasher for convenient clean-up.
On the middle floor - three bedrooms (queen; queen; full and twin), a bonus room (full), and two spacious full bathrooms with two sinks each. The en-suite bathroom has a shower and a jetted tub for soaking and relaxation. Two decks - one in the front and one in the back off the main bedroom. The main bedroom closet has an ironing board and iron for your convenience. Floor to ceiling windows in the bonus room let you observe our local wildlife - deer, turtles, birds. A box fan is also available. Three of the rooms have TVs.
The ground floor has a laundry room with provided laundry detergent and dryer sheets, garage-turned-game-room with a ping pong table and darts, cornhole, bikes and helmets for your use, balls for soccer and volleyball, boogie boards and sand toys for your use, and an outdoor shower for rinsing off after the beach. Firepit in the side yard, a tree swing in the back, and almost half an acre of wooded property to explore around the home. We challenge you to find and visit our fairy houses with windows that glow in the dark!

The check in process was super smooth and we even were able to check in early! The house was very clean. Having a beautiful path for a short walk to the beach was AMAZING. Biljana checked in on us through text when we got there which was very sweet. House is beautifully located and well kept. Definitely would stay again.

We had a fabulous time! The house was beautiful and so spacious. Everything we needed was supplied. There was a cabinet of board games and a game room downstairs. The kitchen was fully stocked with supplies and appliances that made it easy to cook and serve food. The host was communicative even before we checked in. It was a dream vacation!

We ventured to Emerald Isle with another family and was impressed with the vacation home. The home was clean, spacious, comfortable, and accommodating. The host communicated with us prior to arriving and that gave us comfort with asking questions about our stay and protocol. We adored the shady walk to the beach and found it to be easy & quick for 4-6 year olds. We would recommend this home and host without hesitation and hope that we can return annually.

A fantastic location! Awesome amenities at the house. Loved the split level set up — game room on first, bedrooms on second, kitchen/living on third. Porches galore! We especially enjoyed them in the evenings and mornings. Beach was an easy/short walk for all ages (3 to 70). So many toys, chairs, bike offerings at the house too.
Highly recommend. Would definitely stay again.

What a great spot! Easy walk to the beach, close to everything and tucked away to give a secluded retreat feel! Owners super responsive and hospitality was top notch! Recommend this house for sure and we will be staying here again!

The place itself was lovely, in a great location and there were ample activities at the house to use, although half the bikes were barely holding together. The positives end there.
Apparently one of our friends broke a patio seat. I apologized and told her to run it through the insurance. This did not stop them from sending multiple texts lecturing us about it.
I thought that was the end of it, a lecture from someone that isn’t my mother, but no. A month after my stay I receive a text asking to mail back a Roku remote we “stole”. I don’t know why she would think we stole a cheap remote from her place, maybe because we are young 20 somethings that supposedly broke a chair, that insurance covered. This text a month later was completely unprofessional and completely uncalled for, because story didn’t even ask if we had it, they just assumed, telling us to mail it back.
I would recommend this place if you are staying with a family maybe, but staying with friends and being treated like a child is not okay in any respect. We paid a pretty penny for the place, and bought insurance for the off-chance something did happen, and it covered the patio chairs. I do not need to be inappropriately lectured for the chair nor the remote we didn’t steal.
In short, I would not stay here again because the professionalism was not there.

My family of 6 stayed for 6 days and would certainly recommend this place to anyone, with kids or not. My kids walked to the beach every single day, we had game night upstairs regularly, soaked up the sun on every deck, and just made memories we will never forget. <3 Thank you so much for sharing your incredible home!

Lovely property, but some of the mattresses were really uncomfortable, and the broken toilet was an irritant. Kitchen is totally not functional if you plan to do much cooking, but for a vacation rental it was adequate.

We found the property to be clean and very comfortable- a true home away from home. We loved the quiet and seclusion. Plenty of things to do, but the beaches were the best! We stayed for a family weekend wedding. Biljana was wonderful to work with, it was a plus for us being in the same neighborhood as my parents home. This home is very spacious and private with all the trees. Everyone was comfortable with sleeping. Master shower is great!!! Highly recommend this property. Lots of space in the well equipped kitchen. Loved the wine refrigerator to keep your drinks cold.

The house was really nice. We were not coming from home. We were coming from DC when we found out that we needed to furnish our own towels and sheets. When we let the owners know the situation They came through with sheets and towels witch saved us from having to go out and purchase them.

We have stayed at numerous places on different beaches but this one was by far the most amazing. Every single inch of that pace was gorgeous, so well thought out and bedrooms were spacious and even a deck off the master besides a large deck off the living room and a front deck. Not loud and busy but a great home away from home and can’t wait to save my Pennie’s for next summer❤️couldn’t have been any better at all. Just the huge kitchen island was awesome. Seated six stools on the one side of it. ❤️loved it.

We had a wonderful time! The house was a great location. It was a short shaded walk to the beach. It was so quiet and relaxing at the house too. We had plenty of room for all 6 of us. We liked that the house had beach chairs and beach cart that we could use. Whenever we texted the owners there was a quick response. The ping pong table provided a fun family game night! We had a wonderful time at the beach. The house fit us very well. We had our two young married sons with their wives (one set flying in from Seattle and the other driving up from Chattanooga) and our other two single children. We ate in all our meals and the kitchen and living area served us very well for doing that. The walk to the beach is shaded and the beach is stunning. The four new beach chairs are wonderful... backpack chairs.

The property is nestled in the trees, and is very private. The owner is extremely responsive and will answer any questions or address any issues immediately. There are abundant dishes, pots, pans etc for any cooking you wish to do. The decks are awesome for a relaxing time after fishing all day. We enjoyed staying at Biljana's property at Emerald Isle. The house was so bright and open and had plenty of room. The walk to the beach was very easy and followed a walkway through the woods. The house was also convenient to a couple of grocery stores and several good restaurants. Biljana provided bikes and an ample number of beach chairs for us to use.

What a wonderful place to spend a week at the beach! The owners are so welcoming and responsive that we knew right away that this house was some place special. Beautifully decorated, very clean, well stocked with everything you need, comfortable beds, and so close to the beach. We saw all kinds of wildlife- from frequent sightings of deer to a turtle crossing the yard to tiny frogs hanging out on the back decks. My teenage girls loved challenging their mom and dad to darts and ping pong, or just sitting and chatting outside on the comfy outdoor seating. Hands down, one of the best beach homes we’ve stayed in. We will definitely be returning!

Best vacation ever!
This house is amazing! We had such an awesome time! We always saw some kind of wildlife on the wooded trail to the beach. The beach is not crowded. The kids had fun playing darts and ping pong! They have a variety of bikes and helmets! The top deck is amazing you are up with the tops of the trees! They have really comfy deck furniture! The owners are wonderful and accommodating.

We had a beautiful and comfortable stay at Heart of the Sunshine. It was well kept and very clean. Nice and spacious for a family of 5. It’s located in an awesome part of the island- close to the point. We will definitely try to stay at the same place when we come back!

Excellent vacation house!
We had a great week staying in heart of the sunrise! The house is beautiful and was perfect for our family of 6. The location near the Point is fabulous. The wooded path to the beach was nice & convenient & we loved all the wildlife we saw each day! The kitchen was well stocked & the house & decks were very clean & comfortable. They also provided a nice beach cart & other beach supplies, as well as bikes, a ping pong table, fire ring, grill, etc. the host, Biljana was very responsive and kind in answering all my questions. I would definitely recommend staying in this house & I can’t wait to go back! One tip… make sure you read the welcome packet so you know to bring your own sheets & towels, including hand towels for the bathroom! I didn’t think to bring hand towels, so we had to use paper towels & kitchen towels. Other than that, this vacation house was perfect!

A wonderful week in a beautiful home
My family of 4 loved our week in this beautiful home. It was clean and tastefully decorated. The 3 balconies were great. Lots of comfy seating inside and outside.
It was a short walk to the beach on a shaded walking trail.
The kids got use out of the beach toys that were available.
We brought our own bikes, but we didn’t need to. There were PLENTY to choose from! Lots of sizes for kids and adults.
We didn’t bring our own beach chairs, but wish we would have. There were only 2 true beach chairs, and they didn’t recline back-so they weren’t comfy to sit in at the beach. There may have been 1-2 camp chairs, but we didn’t consider using those at the beach.
The washer and dryer was nice and big-they worked perfectly.
We loved seeing all of the island wildlife. Tons of deer! Box turtles. Tree frogs. Birds.
Don’t hesitate to book this great property.

This was a perfect family vacation spot. The house is beautiful and spotlessly clean but best of all is the location! Short, easy walk to the beach and the beach was not crowded at all. Great anniversary weekend
My husband and I, plus our 2 adult sons, daughter-in-law and 8 yr old grandson celebrated our 50th anniversary at this lovely beach house! Having the bedrooms on a separate floor gave everyone privacy. The bathrooms were roomy, especially the master bath. The beach path to the beach was wide, safe, and quick. Just turn right at the back of the house. My sister's family visited and we walked over several streets to the beach stairs for the best views of the sunset. We have gorgeous photos, including the sunset through sea oats. The living area and kitchen were great. And our grandson wanted to play ping pong ever spare minute. We will definitely go back in the future! (Btw, we ordered a delicious decorated cake at Lowes in Cape Carteret.)

This property has all of the amenities for a beach trip! Bikes for all sizes in great condition, beach chairs, boogie boards, toys. The kitchen is well-appointed and the indoor spaces are cozy for rainy days indoors. We absolutely loved the top deck for dinner and late-night chats. This wooded home in the live oaks captures the Point’s beautiful ecology!
