About this house rental
Enjoy the stunning river views and fantastic proximity to downtown while staying at our quiet and comfortable Riverview Downtown Cottage. Just steps from the original settlement in the historic district, our cottage is within a few blocks of multiple museums, restaurants, the Ft. George and other breweries, the Bow Picker and the riverwalk. This cottage features off street parking (a rare find in downtown), laundry and kitchen. Park your car, enjoy the views and walk to everything.
Our one bedroom cottage can sleep 2 persons in the bedroom (queen bed), 2 more on the fantastic Murphy bed (queen) in the living room and another person on the pull out bed (twin) within the ottoman. All beds have quality, well supported memory foam mattresses. We have a full kitchen (fully stocked) and bathroom. Situated in the historic district our cottage was rebuilt in 1980 and beacons wonderful river and marine traffic views while maintaining a large green space amongst the surrounding historic architecture.
Usage of the sidewalk and stairs to Exchange Street is allowed while maintaining quiet respect for the the long-term tenants in the adjacent/close apartment building. Views from the lawn beacon, but because of a 7ft drop to Exchange Street we require guests and their pets to stay within the boundary of the fence.
We offer a secure keyless code entry that will be unique to every booking. We live very close and are available if the need arises. We provide a house manual with suggestions for activities, restaurants and house rules.
Live like a local while staying in our Downtown Riverview Cottage and enjoy being located in Astoria's historic district where a variety of beautifully restored Victorian, Mediterranean, Tudor and Craftsman homes and buildings can be seen.
Although we accept pets, we charge an additional fee of $20/pet/night (max 2 pets allowed) to accommodate for the additional cleaning required.

The good stuff - we were able to check in early, the w/d worked, the view out the front window was good and the location was central to things. The not good - cost. And the place is tired and worn. My college dorm room was cleaner and nicer. There is not a coffee maker as the listing states, just an electric kettle and the “drip cup” which the owner said was their “coffee system”. There is a distinct musty/stale odor in the house and when hoping to air out by opening windows, found the only window with a screen was not able to be opened. You have to be standing in front of the window to get the great view. There is only one end table in LR and only 1 bedside table in BR yet there is room for both. If you are on the “not side”, your phone, glasses and water are on the floor. The sheets are thin and worn and the towels equally worn. The only fan found was very dirty. The cloth seats to the table were dirty and needed cleaning. There was dog hair on the only place to sit in the LR. The kitchen is poorly stocked and unsure I would want to cook or eat in the place. It was missing very simple conveniences and niceties with would cost the owner very little and made all the difference. We were so disappointed, especially based on prior posted reviews and the $$$$ price. For what this place cost, it should have and easily could have been comfortable. In hindsight, the Hampton Inn would have been better and about 1/2 the cost.

This house has everything needed for a getaway with a great view of the river and passing ships. Best of all though is the location…you are within walking distance of everything. Thanks for a great stay!

Nice spot. Lots of walkable eats and drinks. Lovely view of the water from the bench outside.

Lovely little one-bedroom/one-bath with a murphy bed in the living room. Great, well equipped kitchen, which we didn't need to use much of. Would have liked to see a Keurig/Pod type coffee maker, or at least directions/measurements for the drip-coffee (never used that kind and made it waaaay too strong, lol). Toilet seat needs updating as it's loose/wiggly. Lovely water pressure in the shower! Great spot to set off on foot and walk the city and you can see the river from the front window. Comfy couch, comfy bed, lots of pillows and blankets. We did find it very chilly and ran the heat our whole stay. It can be a little tricky getting in and out from parking to the entrance if you have mobility issues, as you step over railroad ties or navigate slippery walkway (it's the coast, it's expected!). Anyway, we would absolutely stay here again and would recommend it.

We had the best weekend get away at this amazing cozy cottage! The location can’t be beat, it’s out the front door and directly into the cute downtown area. The beds were very comfortable, and the interior was clean and so cozy. Communication with the host was fast and they were very quick to answer any questions asked. I would definitely stay here again, the experience was a favorite for us!

Comfortable and well equipped home. Great bed. Will stay there again. Beautiful homes in the neighborhood to see while getting some steps in.

Comfortable and quiet house in downtown Astoria. Short walking distance to shops, restaurants, and waterfront. The house was reasonably well equipped and we experienced no significant issues. The bathroom shower/bathtub was not cleaned before our stay and that was noticeable, but overall not a big problem.

The location was perfect. We walked everywhere. The view of the river and the ships passing by was the best we've ever experienced staying in Astoria. It is a nice little cottage. We will stay there again!

When I come to Astoria, I like to leave the car parked and paint the town with my feet--so many cute places to check out and a lovely river walk path. This rental is perfect for it! And the view from the living room window actually made it hard to want to leave! Working with the hosts was easy and they were very flexible when we had an accidental issue at the end of our stay. I will definitely stay here again when I return to Astoria!!

Great location and a great view. Within easy walking distance of downtown and waterfront Astoria, though you do have to climb a bit to get back to the house. Quiet at night, good off street parking. I'd prefer a king sized bed but you can't have everything. I would definitely stay here again.

Comfortable and clean. Great location. Within walking distance to everything. Did the underground tour and another local tour. Both great. Traffic on 16 was loud when the windows were open. I would stay here again.

pleasantly surprised. While some of the descriptions mad us a little apprehensive, the unit was really nice. Sould us a little more in the way of kitchen dishes, etc.

This property is perfectly located for easy walking to the museum, shopping, and restaurants.
Very nicely appointed kitchen, extremely comfortable bed, great bath towels, delicious coffee, and a kind, responsive host.
This was our first trip to Astoria and we were surprised by the quaint quirkiness of the city.
We dined at Silver Salmon on Commercial Street and give it rave reviews as well.
The Column is worth the effort and $5 parking fee.
We will happily stay on this property, if we find ourselves back in Astoria!
Thank you!

My son, dog and I had a great stay for the weekend. The home had everything we needed. Fantastic location—we easily walked everywhere. On our first day, I accidentally locked us out of the house and had to contact owner who came by within 10 min to get us back in. We loved our stay and would stay here again!
