Sea Shanty Cottage
The cottage is very well situated within Wells Next the Sea and very easy to pop out to shop/eat. We loved Wells and Norfolk - it was our first visit. Overall we found the accommodation to be rather basic/small. The lighting in the living room was very poor with just one side light and the rest ceiling spots which made it difficult to read and create a sense of cosiness - a minor issue in the grand scheme of things but we stay in a lot of holiday cottages where soft touches and decor (e.g. pictures on walls) are important to us. The 2 major issues for us however were the black mould on all the corners of the window frames and glass that and the sink in the family bathroom was INTOLERABLY minute- totally impossible to wash face or teeth without cascading water onto the floor. There were no bathmats provided in either bathroom so we had to use a hand towel from the twin room which was less than ideal. Really disappointing as the 2 bathrooms otherwise were nicely done. The kitchen was lovely and light and well stocked however the welcome pack woefully poor (again in comparison to other places we have stayed). We did have a lovely holiday overall but you did ask for feedback so hence the comments. In saying this we would recommend the cottage to others as so well positioned for the town and the area.

Superb Holiday Let
We loved our stay at Sea Shanty Cottage, the cottage has been renovated to a very high standard, it was well stocked with everything we needed for a stay and the heating had been put on prior to our arrival. The location was superb, an easy walk to the main shopping street with a Deli, butcher, grocer, fishmonger, bakery and mini markets available aswell as restaurants and takeaways. The short walk down to the quay and to the beach provided plenty of exercise and our dogs loved the dog beach. The firestick was a bonus on the day when it poured down and we had a cosy day in the cottage. Our daughter loved the top floor suite with it's stunning views. The beds were all very comfortable, we'd happily stay here again. The only downside to this property was the lack of parking, we bought a week ticket for the nearest public car park, which was very reasonable in price and there was plenty of space in February but I'd worry about where to park in the summer season when parking spaces are limited, other than this minor detail the cottage itself and location was faultless and we really enjoyed our stay.

Beautiful Cottage
Sea Shanty cottage is beautifully decorated, comfy and cosy home from home. The location is perfect right in the middle of Wells. The shops, Delis and restaurants are only a few minutes walk away. The Quay and beaches are within walking distance and the town is so dog friendly. We will definitely be staying here again.

Great location, clean and well equiped
We loved our stay at Sea Shanty cottage, the location was close to the heart of Wells whilst still off main drag of shops and main traffic route, so was quiet from traffic noise etc. The cottage was decorated to a high standard and very clean. Only negative I had was that we had to provide our own soap, cleaning products, loo roll etc which seemed churlish after paying peak prices for the property.

Short break
We booked here as a last minute break, it was more than we bargained to pay for, but I suppose as the current situation was expected. Cottage was clean, not spotless. Decor was nice, the only snag were the bathroom sinks, were a bit small even for just cleaning your teeth in, an there was no bath mat so had to use the towels. Other than that was great location for the beach and restaurants.

Lovely cottage in a great location.
Sea Shanty has been recently renovated and is perfect for a stay in lovely Wells. Great kitchen if you plan on cooking - well equipped. Easy enough to park at the rear and unload the car through the back gate, before moving the car to either the car park or street nearby. Lovely bathroom and en suite. Courtyard is quite small but adequate. We were only here for the weekend but it would be perfect for longer stays.

Stay at sea shanty cottage was good
Everything was good about the cottage with the exception of arrival. Our instructions said entrance by back door key in wall safe. On arrival the back gate wouldn’t t open I could see the key safe over high wall. After travelling to venue tired and wanting to get in I had to find the office to complain. They informed me the key was at the front in the top of porch. I said about the back gate but nobody came all week to fix it so we couldn’t t use back entrance at all even to get to the bins. Everything else about the venue was excellent.

Lovely central Wells stay
We had a wonderful stay at Sea Shanty Cottage in Wells. The property is so well equipped (high chair, cot, stair gates, kitchen utensils etc) and finished to a high standard and the location is fantastic. There were a few areas that could have been cleaner and we found the beds a little uncomfortable but would not hesitate to return again.
