We did not expect this property to be luxury since it is dog friendly. However we experienced some issues that are too big to ignore: Severe mold in two bathrooms was disconcerting, towels that were wet and had a bad odor were laid out to use in baths, cracked tiles in master bath and kitchen, and severely stained carpet throughout. The cracked tile in kitchen came out of place frequently and had a jagged edge. Furniture is very old, worn, stained, and some broken (side table and dining chair).
Pluses: great location, nice deck and hot tub, well stocked nice kitchen, great layout for our group of 7. We appreciated the responsiveness of the Avant staff for handling small issues promptly.
Highly recommend installing a gate at top of stairs on deck for safety of children and pets.
For the price & it being an 'AvantStay' property our group expected it to be better maintained.

We had 7 people and 2 dogs and this location was perfect for us! They had everything we needed.

The accomodations were just what we needed. It really is a great set up with 2 seperate apartment style rooms with their own kitchenette and bathrooms on the ground floor, the 2 larger bedrooms w/ en suite on the main floor and the 2 queen room upstairs.
We had to do some extra cleaning in the apartments (AvantStay was awesome and quick in their communications with us).
They layout was really great for us. If I had to be picky - new couches would be a welcome addition. Also, the stairs to the 3rd floor are very steep. Nothing young adults can't handle but a little suspect for the aging population.
All in all this was a great vacation. Thank you AvantStay, you were great to work with. Hope to be back soon!!!

We had a wonderful time for my husbands 70th birthday. They even bought him wine and bought dog bones for my dog. Very nice and thoughtful!

Very Nice property in East Vail, about 10-15 minute drive to Golden Peak base, or a bit longer on free town shuttle-bus. This older home easily accomodated our family ski trip with 8 adults, 1 toddler, 1 infant and 2 well behaved/trained dogs. Although some TLC is needed in areas (eg worn stair carpet and floor tile issues in kitchen and baths), the roomy living area & kitchen were comfortable for the entire family. The deck's hot tub and fire-pit are only accessible through either of the two adjacent bedrooms. Two other bedrooms are on the first level. T hot tub needed service call due to leaking. Overall, we had an enjoyable weekend!

We had a wonderful stay at the house which was really convenient to Vail Ski Area & Restaurants. We had 5 teens, 4 adults and 2 dogs. Everyone had a bed with plenty of room. Thanks for a great Spring break.

The house was perfect for our group of 10 people. Spacious bedrooms and living area, and the kitchen was well stocked. The East Vail bus stop just a couple blocks away was so convenient for getting to the mountain. Highly recommend!

Excellent location and house is very cozy. Didn’t realize the house is so big and xan accomodate a large party. House was very clean and well maintained. Must stay!

Great rental property for groups. Everyone in our group had their own bathroom. Great location.

This house is old and tired. While it has a renovated and well equipped kitchen and the bathrooms are fine, the overall vibe is old and worn. It should just be torn down and start over. At the very least the very old and unattractive carpeting should be replaced. Plus East Vail is not the best - highway noise is loud and constant - but that is true of all of Vail. I would recommend Beaver Creek or Edwards.

The location and floor plan was perfect for a family trip.

My wedding party and I stayed here for a few days to explore Vail. It’s perfectly tucked away in the mountains in a beautiful neighborhood. Just 10 min from Vail Village. The place was super clean, easy check in, and beautiful! It’s perfect for a big group.

The house was very nice and spacious and served our ski group of 8 guys very well. Quick access to the Vail shuttle was a hit. If you choose to drive in for paid parking at the resort it’s about 5 miles and 10 minutes away. The only issue we had at check-in was the smell of natural gas which ultimately involved a 911 call, a visit from the fire department, and ultimately a technician from Xcel to repair the outdoor valve. It was not a major issue…but added some extra hassle dealing with the local resources to resolve this. I will say the property management contacts were very helpful and responsive. This should be a non factor for future guests. Also…they came to clean the hot tub on Sunday which may be the routine…this left some disappointment for some after skiing as the water took about 24hrs to hear back up. All in all it was a good stay, the group had a great time, and we would stay here again. Last thought…the local access road and the driveway were pretty icy/snowy with the conditions during our stay. AWD/4x4 suggested for getting in and out of the sloped driveway.

We had a great time at this location! Everything was clean. Very spacious for 12 guests. The bus stop to vail was a quick 2 minute walk around the corner. Everything was just as we’d hoped from the pictures.

Originally planned for a group of 12, but only 9 of us ended up coming, and there was more than enough space and beds. Was really great to have multiple full bathrooms, especially after long days of skiing. The East Vail shuttle picks up about a block down across the street from the house, which was extremely convenient since it's hard to find free parking around Vail. The house was well decorated, cozy, had a well stocked kitchen (oil, coffee, spices, cooking supplies, etc), and was easy to find. My only complaint was that some of the towels looked a little dirty or stained (in all fairness though, I didn't let the host know), but otherwise this was a very lovely stay and I would highly recommend!

We found out at the last minute that the Bighorn property had a leak, so AvantStay moved us to another property in the area at no additional cost. This is an advantage of booking a host like AvantStay that owns multiple properties. AvantStay communicated with us frequently and promptly responded to all our requests.

Great location. We enjoyed the space and layout . Very comfortable and relaxing. Vail was quiet because it was off season but enjoyed being in the mountains.

This house was great for 7 adults. Everyone had their own space and several were able to work remotely. The living space was set up to comfortably accommodate everyone being together and the kitchen was well equipped. Great location and would return to stay at this home again.

This 5 bedroom with 4 1/2 bathrooms Vrbo was in a convenient location on the outskirts of Vail, and a great value for the price. The open concept kitchen, dining and living rooms were perfect for our group. One recommendation is to replace the open uneven steep flight of stairs to the second floor bedroom with a standard enclosed staircase. It’s quite treacherous the way it’s currently constructed, and unsafe for children and many adults.

Overall we enjoyed our time here. It’s a nice property with a nice deck and hot tub that we enjoyed hanging out on. It’s super close to the free shuttle to town which was great.
Only thing was cleaning could have been better. While it was obvious the place had been cleaned, there were a few things that were a little disconcerting: there was a stain on the floor of one of the downstairs bedrooms- totally understand that some stains don’t come out completely, but we were able to clean some of it up pretty easily which makes us think it hadn’t been given too much attention. Also, while the beds were made with what at first appeared to be clean sheets, a few sheets on the beds had rips and stains, one of which also smelt. Thankfully they did have a supply of spare, clean sheets in the laundry room to replace them with.
Hate to leave a kind of negative review but thought these few things were worth mentioning. Minus these things the place was very relaxing and we enjoyed our stay.

Nice and spacious property close to amazing hikes and nature activities. Quiet neighbors. Overall cleanliness was good. 4 stars instead of 5 because house was not completely ready when we arrived at check-in time: hot tub was not filled and code to enter did not work for about an hour after check-in time. After initial hiccups, we had a wonderful stay! Thank you!

This property is in East Vail—about a 10 min. drive from Vail Village. It has a very steep, long staircase leading to the main living area on the second floor. If anyone in your group has mobility issues, this is NOT the property for you. The neighborhood is terrific, right around the corner from a dog park, and the hot tub was fantastic. There is a fair amount of traffic noise as it is close to I-70.

We chose this comfortable home for its quiet neighborhood and large lot. There are 2 shuttle stops within a block or two, so easy walking distance. It’s only a 10-minute drive to Vail Village. The renovations have definitely updated this 50-yr-old home. The Great Room’s expansive windows and sliding doors offer natural light. The new kitchen, which is stocked with all essentials, is the best feature of the remodel. Sim’s Market is only 1.7 miles and City Market is 9 miles, so buy groceries if you want to prepare some meals at the house. The deck is larger than most rental properties offer and mature trees provide privacy as well as shade in the summer. In winter, views of the surrounding mountains will be spectacular. The bedrooms are spacious and beds are comfortable, but not all beds are created equal ; the queen beds in the basement rooms are quite firm. Suggestions to the property manager included adding chests or bureau in bedrooms so guests have someplace other than closets to put clothing. There is plenty of room for everyone and privacy is provided both upstairs as well as downstairs. The abundant welcome gifts included liquor, wine, snacks, etc. We recommend this home for a comfortable retreat if one prefers to be near Vail village yet enjoy a relaxing respite from the crowds.
