Loved the cottage, very cosy and right in the middle of town, a wonderful get away.

Mill Cottage was perfect for our two day stay. The cottage was right in town with everything you needed, we even had a BBQ while listening to old records. A small breakfast kit was provided which made the first morning easy.
Beds were very comfortable and all linen necessary for the time we were there and a few extras.
Space for couples and for being together - so easy!
Can’t think of anything!

Close to town centre. Nicely appointed.
Inconsistent hot water supply.
No gas supplied for BBQ.
No firewood supplied.

Near to town. Gives a rustic feel. There were some breakfast items provided.
Please hang a curtain to cover the bathroom window. Too exposed

A great location. Lovely old house. Good heating.

Super location for electric vehicle with charge station just around corner. Very walkable to the local shops (highly recommend Barra Jacks for amazing fish and chips). Good access to nice walking path along Tenterfield Creek. Appreciated being able to have our dog stay, and the well-fenced back yard. Nice wood fire with kindling, wood and fire-starters provided, we really enjoyed that. The linen and towels were clean. The owner’s communication was excellent including to help my coffee obsession by making sure I knew which pods the machine took so I could be happy (and also some were provided which was lovely).
Albeit an original historic cottage, it really does need some updating and maintenance - e.g. many lights don’t work, the bathroom is extremely old and likely impossible to clean at this age so feels very dirty, water goes everywhere when you shower, the glass top on the kitchen bench is cracked. Having said that, I think also the cleaning could be much better - I wiped down a lot of grime on the kitchen benches e.g. in the corners to get it feeling clean to prepare food on, and it was not well vacuumed and very dusty (e.g. dog ball went under couch and came back with a lot extra). The whole cottage is crammed with knick-knacks which for us also made it feel cluttered and grimier than it likely even was. We tidied up and moved things around to make it feel more harmonious and calm.
It was SO noisy. It’s not too far from a fairly well-used highway, and because the home is old (no double-glazing or well-sealed windows) that was pretty noisy itself overnight. But the biggest noise was that the home sits alongside an alley that runs down to shops, and is used by all manner of service vehicles who drive in, park, unload, slam doors, back up with truck reversing beeps etc (including at 5am). Even the rubbish truck turned around in that alley!
Again made hard by the age of the cottage, but it was hella cold. It took us a LOT to heat it up, made trickier by drafts and poor seals.
Overall, we were pretty disappointed with the condition of some of the essentials, hence wanting to write this review.

All the homely features were very welcome. The styling was quirky. The space is warm and welcoming. The bread and butter, eggs and tomatoes for breakfast was tasty. Easy walk to shopping. Beautiful garden. Condiments in the fridge.
The bathroom is at the rear of the house (bedrooms at the front), with the toilet in the laundry. Both were cold spaces, with steps and low doorways. Lots of trip hazards. Bedrooms did not have bedside tables. The old suitcases offer little other than ambience. Furniture in dining room is unstable.

Location and having a closed yard with BBQ. Enough space for kids to play inside and out. Dishwasher :)
Can't think of anything that was average

Best accommodation we’ve ever stayed in Australia and any trips around the world. Beautiful cottage with so much history and character. We were impressed by the details and care taken to decorate this place. We will be back for sure, this place was the highlight of our trip!
Everything is perfect!

Re breakfast......thanks for the effort but I wanted my friend to experience the corner cafe across the road so we went there for breakfast.
I have stayed at this property previously, with my family, and would stay again. Also I would recommend Mill Cottage to those seeking a country cottage experience ; but it wouldn't suit everyone if they are seeking every mod con.
A couple of comments......more pre chopped fire wood would be convenient especially kindle.
The little steps between some of the rooms are a bit tricky but I am not sure how you overcome that.......we tripped up twice.
You need to replace the broken glass top on the kitchen table.......not a good look.

Decor has a cool, rustic vibe. Location right in town - great for walking around (but can be fairly noisy day and night). Lots of nice touches ie soft towels, robes, Stan, some breakfast items. Good outdoor area with fire tub and BBQ.
Loading bay next door - bring earplugs. Bathroom is pretty basic.

Peaceful, clean and great location.
Wifi was playing up.
In the room with the green bed, crunchie wrappers were in the corner of the room from a previous guest.
The bedroom had a musty smell

A very cosy, well appointed cottage, centrally located. We could have stayed a few more days
The indoor bathroom and toilet were basic and the outdoor 'bathroom' does not warrant mention in the facilities list.

Very cute cosy cottage right in town. There's a lovely bar, Stonefruit, 2 mins around the corner that serves fabulous food. The fire was going when we arrived at the cottage so it was lovely and warm.

fronts of cupboards are a bit grubby and big crack in glass on table. No direction on how to use the stove would have been helpful, { Chef at corner cafe helped us}

Breakfast was excellent, I did have to switch the gas bottle over, which wasn't a problem, just letting you know one is empty. Also, I left some bottles of wine, accidently, but they are now yours.... I hope you enjoy them, they are quaffing wines not collectors items. I didn't clean out the fireplace, which I usually do, but this morning my mind was all over the place.
Could you look at the height of the clothes line, yesterday a belted my head and caused some severe lacerations and bruising. Don't worry too much, I've been belted before, but not by a clothes line.

Mill Cottage was close to everything. You could walk everywhere. The cottage has a large back yard for the dogs.
The cottage had everything you needed.
We loved sitting on the front deck watching the world go by.
There was nothing we didn’t like. We loved the footage and our stay.
it’s not really a negative it’s just a personal thing as I travel with dogs. I could not find a vacuum, I have two long fur dogs and love that they are welcome. I just like to vacuum when leaving due to their long fur.

Excellent location. Walking distance to amenities, park, shops. Quiet day and night. Parking in house yard. Great outdoor backyard area. Felt safe there. Cottage had no bad odours at all.
Shower had no door. Therefore, water sprayed onto floor. Not real safe. Shower area needs attention.

We liked everything about the cottage. It was fully equipped with everything we could possibly want with many added extras. The location was very central to cafes, restaurants and beautiful parks ( which are dog particularly liked). Thank you!!
