Vacaciones de ensueño

La tranquilidad, las areas comunes, la cocina equipada y la atención que me dieron desde el momento que reservé y durante mi estancia. Resolviendo todas mis dudas y ayudándome a gestionar las actividades que quería hacer durante los días que estuve quedándome con ellos.

Muy mejorable

Me gustó el hecho de que tenían agua caliente en la habitación.

No me gustó que me informasen de que la piscina no estaba disponible el mismo día de mi llegada. Yo elegí este alojamiento por la piscina y resultó que estaba a medio llenar y sucia. Para mi esto no fue agradable ya que el precio era elevado y buscaba ese servicio y no fue posible. Por otra parte la limpieza de la ducha y el lavabo dejaba mucho que desear, había muchos salpicones de cal y la ducha estaba negra de la humedad. Por último comentar que se escuchan los ruidos de la naturaleza pero también los ruidos de las personas que hay en la otra cabaña, se pueden escuchar las conversaciones perfectamente y eso limita mucho la intimidad.

Cute bungalows inside a lush garden, lovely jungle experience!

One of the standout features of La Colmena is its cute and well-maintained rooms. Each room is uniquely decorated and furnished with all the necessary amenities for a comfortable stay. The beds are comfortable, and the bathrooms are clean and very spacious, you basically shower in the jungle. Water coming out of the tab can be dirty occasionally but that's to expect in the middle of nowhere, we think it came from a nearby river. La Colmena doesn't offer breakfast but it comes with a communal kitchen where you can make your own if you're down for that. We had our breakfasts at the El Valle Lodge next door for $8 per person which was fantastic. Staff is super helpful and kind and helped us book an epic excursion.

If you're not a fan of dogs, this might not be the best place for you. The hotel is located in an area where street dogs are common, and they occasionally make their way onto the property. Another thing to note is that if you're a light sleeper, it's important to check if there's a festival or event in the area before you book your stay (recommend to go during the week if you like it quiet). During our visit, there was a festival, and the nearby party blasting music all night long made it difficult to get a good night's sleep for one of our nights. There's also construction happening next door, but that doesn't start until 9am. Despite these minor drawbacks, we had a lovely stay at La Colmena. The hotel staff was super friendly and very helpful, and the overall atmosphere was relaxing and inviting. If you're looking for a charming and affordable hotel in a great location, La Colmena is definitely worth considering.

Amazing jungle scenery in the most tranquil place in Dominican Republic

Amazing place to accommodate you in El Valle. Blanca is a fabulous host that cares for her guests.

it’s ok

it’s extraordinary house of bamboos in the jungle! if you don’t afraid to see insects and lizards inside your house this place is for you.

Very bad wife connection. No breakfast (but in front of the villa there is very good villas where you can have fantastic breakfast)

Great experience, close to nature, real Dominican Republic experience

The stay was great, the surroundings are amazing, host is very helpful. Amazing place to disconnect from the civilized world and enjoy the real Dominican Republic.

Beach and jungle - the paradise for resting and reconnecting

The property is in the middle of the jungle, and within a 5min walk to the beach. It’s really paradise (but be aware that is very secluded and might not be for everyone). For my vacation was perfect! You can truly rest in this place, falling asleep and waking up with the sounds of the jungle. The staff only made our experience better, they were the nicest and most attentive people:)

It was okay.

It was jungle like, it had hot water, it had Wi-Fi, the staff was kinda friendly, it’s located walking distance from the beach

We felt unattended, we had to figure nearly everything on our own. Also, if you decide yo go, make sure you go on private transportation because Taxis will rip you off with $25 one way. By the way, you can hear literally EVERYTHING from other cabins and from the outside since the walls are made out of bambú.
