SCORRETTI

The whole experience of our stay at the Tree House has been amazing. Of course, the first night was a bit scary as we didn't know what to expect when being in the jungle: bats, frogs, lizards 🦎 We stayed for 4 nights and it was great after all! We loved going to yoga in the morning, the home made food, all the games available in the lobby, the sense of community and all the evening entertainment from karaoke to dancing and the bonfire :) Honestly, we would very very much recommend this experience, just being in nature with no internet, listening to the sound of birds or the calm after the rain. The room was comfy, and we had a really nice view, of course bear in mind you are in the jungle, so don't expect hot showers. Other than that it's been great.
It was a bit hard to get to the Tree House, we took a taxi from Punta Cana to Samana, and even our driver was a bit spooked by the roads for the last 15-20 mins of the drive; but once we arrived it was all great :)

The location and the setting of the resort is magical.
There’s a certain level of service that’s expected when you pay these prices. The facility seemed very short staffed. This was especially apparent during meal times as there often wasn’t enough food at the buffet. Items weren’t refilled as often as they should be. It was difficult to get staff attention during meal times. And the food was often cold. We spoke to other guests, some of whom went down the street to other resorts just to have dinner. We are seasoned travelers that have stayed at many eco/jungle resorts and have never come across this type of lack of regard for guests which I’m sure wasn’t intentional, they seemed short staffed in every department. For example, the confusion began at check in when the bartender was actually the one that had to check us in while in between mixing drinks for guests seated at the bar.

We had an invitation to the place and there was a hurricane and because of the storm we were not able to get to the place because of a danger on the road and a tree trunk blocking it, there was also a warning from the government not to leave the rooms, so we asked for compensation for the room because we were not able to get there, the hotel says it was just rain and nothing unusual and Willing to give a refund, it's very disappointing and sucks that we are on our honeymoon and they are not ready to listen, we tried to reach them by phone and email in those days and no one answered. pure shame
The answer was » We are bummed you were not able to come in due to the storm, luckily it wasn't anything crazy other than a lot of rain and a nice property tree trimming thanks to nature! :)
But it was Hurricane Fiona everyone knows everything was destroyed

The staff, the hotel as a whole, the bungalows, the food.
The showerhead in the bungalow bathroom needs replacing, the heated showers weren't heated.

the staff tries, the view is nice
the location, very unsafe roads to get to this place. I had a panic attack driving to this place.
Then once you get there, you feel that you have been scam because to get to the lobby is a 6 min walk on mountain side. Not Wi fi, no AC, no security in the room (unable to lock room) don't even think about bringing your kids to this place.
not family friendly. My 13 year old woud not sleep in her "room" and we all had to sleep in the same bed, counting the hours so we could leave.

loved the staff! Alex, Enzo and Stanley were great and helpful. The property is gorgeous and tons to do. The zip line was one of the best we have been on and the available bikes to ride to the beach were great! Loved the all-inclusive with food and rum drinks. sleeping outside was an adjustment, but incredible, especially when it rained. You sleep under a mosquito net with fan going and never felt a bug. I loved the fact that you meet new people from around the world!
arranged a private dinner, but due to communication issues, fell short of being special and not even a cake for a birthday

The people the way the place was set up as a village . I love this cafe called Emma best food there. The room look like real tree house how friendly the people are and safe they made us feel. The view was breathtaking.
I didn’t like the dinner it was very bland & not good at all if I could change one thing I would have Emma be the chef for the hotel .

- chalet inside the jungle
- tasty food (but simple)
- loud music during night and smell from fire
- so forget for relaxing stay, maybe better for hippies :)
- definitely overpriced
- I asked to the reception for family trip appropriate for 3 smaller kids (our oldest boy is 8 yo), they recommend me snorkeling trip, they said me this is great for kids, our best trip, we will enjoy it and so on. $110 one person. Same for adult and kids. Normal price is 60 for adult and 30 for kids. Staff said again this is our best so a believed him. Big mistake. They took us to open space sea, with huge waves, difficult for adults, dangerous for kids. I thought snorkeling will be in the bay or close the shore with calm watter, if they said it is great for kids. Not danger open water. Also sailor man was very surprised that hotel has sold me this trip. So we came back to the hotel without snorkeling, very disapponted, I claim it in reception and finally manager of Treehouse promised me that half of amount will send me back. One month later and after 3 urgency I have nothing. Very unfair approach and ugly expirience. Finally $550 for 20 minutes boat trip and poor lunch (it was include) for family of 5. Good business hotel! Congratulation! Are you happy for this theft money?
- never come back and not advise, be carefull..
