Overall, disappointed with this place. Cleaning crew left dust bunnies and cobwebs throughout the home. Additionally one of the showers did not have functional hot water. Also, the fire places were left I cleaned after being used prior to my arrival. There is also a warped floor in one of the rooms as well.
The home is big and is nicely decorated. Had a nice view of the mountains. Beds were made and they had soap and shampoo in each of the bathrooms as well as clean towels to use.
The home is. If and was nice

The house is a great size for large groups and had comfortable sleeping arrangements and a beautiful property. The listing boasts that it has a chefs dream kitchen. We hired a chef to come the night and when they turned the oven on it immediately caught fire due to not having been cleaned (we later saw some type of spill all along the inside). We ran to get a fire extinguisher and it was completely empty. We had to shut it down and suffocate it and luckily we got it out ourselves. We also noticed the oven door had white all along it which means this has definitely happened in the past (hence the empty extinguisher). This ruined our experience with the chef not only delaying the dinner and our nights plans, but also ruined the quality of the meal—and this was not an inexpensive ordeal (approx. $100/per person for a group of 16). Putting that aside, this was also a major safety hazard. The oven was then no longer able to be used after that and things needed to be rearranged in to much smaller trays in the smaller ovens, but again the cook times and such were ruined. The kitchen was our main reason for choosing this property over others for our size party and it ultimately didn’t deliver what was expected. Had no idea how to get in touch with a property manager — got an automated reply from Vacasa the one time I tried to reach out regarding check in so didn’t even know how to for this. Disappointed.

This beautiful house was the perfect location for my family and friends to come together in remembrance of our father who passed away. Plenty of bedrooms for everyone and small and large gathering places, inside and out.

Lots of space and comfortable beds for all! Clean, well stocked & maintained. Good outdoor spaces and beautiful view. Would rent again.

We enjoyed the beautiful Hart House!! Our 4-star review is due to Vacasa's slow response to a safety situation. The back door from the kitchen to the back patio would not lock. I called Vacasa to report it at 7:45 pm. I was asked if the directions to operate the lock were near the door. I explained to the answering service this lock is different, but people in our party have one at their home. It is not operator error, it is a malfunction in the lock. I was told someone would be out within the hour. We waited 2 hours and no one showed up. I called at 9:50 p.m. to report no one had come out. The answering service read instructions to me on how to operate the lock. I reiterated there are people in our party that have this type of lock at their house. This is not a matter of operator error, it's a malfunction with the lock. The operator told me he has marked it "high priority - as if it were a fire". He said someone would be out right away. At midnight, no one had shown up, so we propped a chair up under the door handle and went to bed. The next day, when we returned from our scheduled outings, still no one had been out to fix the lock. So I called a different Vacasa number at 4 o'clock and finally someone arrived within the hour and fixed the lock. The maintenance guy was unaware of any phone calls reporting this the night before. He corrected the issue in a short period of time and was very personable. The rest of our stay was enjoyable and relaxing!

Perfect per my granddaughter
Our entire family LOVED this home! We have stayed in several vacation homes, and everyone (all 16 of us) would like to stay here again! We especially loved the view from the front porch, the lovely landscaping, and abundant room to spread out. The kitchen was great, with multiple ovens. My 12-year-old granddaughter pronounced Hart House perfect.

Good Space for Large group
Waze directions were a bit inaccurate, so some better directions to get to property once in estate would be helpful. Home was beautiful and clean, a little wear and tear here and there, but you'll have that with an older home that's being used for a vacation rental. Water pressure in some of the showers was not great, and twin beds in the bonus room were quite small, didn't seem quite the size of an actual twin bed. Regardless, everyone had a great time and enjoyed this space. We had 11 people for three days and spent the majority of our time in the home. We had meetings, and all but one meal there. The kitchen supplies could use a look through, as not all items you thought would be there were there, but we made do easily. Was pleased to find that there were coffee filters on site as well as some spices and kitchen pantry staples like flour, salt, pepper, etc. All in all, this home was great for what we were needing. The ping pong table was damaged and left out in garage upon arrival, but we let the property company know, and were able to move it out of the way, to use garage space, we had no plans to use the equipment anyway. Property management company was quick to respond (used the text feature available to guest), and even offered to send someone out to fix it. We told them no need to do that, we just wanted it notated that it was in that shape upon arrival so we would not be charged. Could benefit from better internet/wifi service.

Just Ok
The property could use some updating. Also there was a broken window that had a piece of black plastic over it - not very secure! The pantry also needs a thorough cleaning. And the kitchen pans and utensils need to be cleaned as well. There were not enough kitchen towels and dishcloths either. Overall, the property was fine - just had higher expectations.

This Place is Awesome
This house is absolutely beautiful. From the layout to the decor, everything is top notch. On top of all of the bedrooms, there is an abundance of social space. The surrounding scenery is gorgeous, whether having a cup of coffee on the front porch with a Mountain View or winding down around the fire pit with a cocktail. The neighborhood is very small and secluded, and you feel at ease the entire time there. We had to get the door code reset upon arrival, but the TurnKey office was very responsive. The drive to Asheville is a little longer than other spots, but we definitely plan on staying here again!

We did not stay at this home at all because TurnKey would not respond to my many requests to arrange to stay in this lovely home. We had originally booked a beautiful home on Lake Lure and 5 days before we were to arrive, TurnKey called and said the home had a broken water main. I had arranged for 5 couples to meet at the Lake Lure home. For 5 days I tried to book another property and for 5 days TurnKey did not respond to my many phone calls. The day before 5 couples were to arrive in Lake Lure, I still had no confirmation on a replacement property. I had no choice but to book another property through a diffenrent company. I lost over $2200 with only a $325.00 refund for my inconvienence I felt ignored and forgotten about
and I don't believe that the home on Lake Lure had a problem at all. We drove up there and looked at the property and found nothing that indicated a broken water main. I believe that the property that we rented was simply
no longer available but they neglected to tell us. One star is too many for what I experienced and TurnKey robbed of not only money but 5 days of my vacation by their neglect.

Amazing Place to unwind
The Place was amazing. Will visit again, if the improvements are addressed. Overall experience with vrbo and turnkey tentals was good. (as we did not have face any serious issues)

2. Huge backyard and front yard
3. Great campfire and park.
4. Amazing house
5. Inside the home was very clean
6. brand new grill
7. intercom was unique
Areas of improvement
1. outside is not clear. Lot of spider webs and dead leaves.
2. TT table was useless.
3. internet was very bad.
4. lack of local housekeeping contact incase of any urgent / emergency situation.
5. for checking on simple things, I had to raise a ticket and get the resolution.
6. Not all lights and fan were working properly.
7. one toilet was not having exhaust

Beautiful Home
This home was beautiful! Our group had such a wonderful, relaxing time. Stayed here for 4 nights and 5 days and we did not want to leave. Don’t really have any intentions of being in Asheville again BUT if we are, we’ll definitely stay here again
3.0 / 5.0
Good but not great
The house is well set up for a large gathering in the sense of plenty of spaces that are open and private to give group members options as to how they spend their time.
However things are a bit old, all of the furniture has seen better days. The grill has so much caked on grime we felt it was unusable. The linens are old and the mattresses are not comfortable.
The views, the yard, and the outdoor space was great - in a Covid recovery world this was our favorite place to be.
The only complaint that is not avoidable is that although the property was advertised having WiFi, in fact the management company told us after booking it has very slow speed WiFi. And when we checked in and discovered no signal at all we were told it’s just weak… nothing they could do. If it was weak we might have understood but the fact is there was no signal. Cell service is spotty. And the manager didn’t seem to offer any solution. That was unfortunate.
We might rent again, especially if there were some upgrades made, mostly because the home is laid out well for a large multigenerational gathering and is close to all the area has to offer. But we’d look elsewhere first.

This was a rental for a company business trip with our sales team. The property was extremely clean and was perfect for our needs. It was close to so many attractions and stores. We would definitely stay here again.

We rented this property for a long weekend with 8 adults and 9 kids. The house is very spacious and has the most wonderful front patio. We had plenty of beds and bedrooms for everyone and all were comfortable. The kitchen is very well stocked with all the pots, pans, utensils that you could need. The property is located up a hill along a busy road so it's not great for going for a walk or anything, but there is plenty of space in the yard to run around. Our critiques were some minor things - 1. there were 8 light bulbs burned out upon our arrival, however the property management company did send someone out within 24 hours to fix most of them (some had broken sockets); 2. the home was clean however minor things like cobwebs in most light fixtures could be improved; and 3. the home is beautiful but every planted pot on the front and back porches contained 100% dead plants - just not the prettiest to look at as your enjoy sitting outside. All and all we would definitely rent again if we returned to the area. Also highly recommend the PM company, they are easy to work with and I liked their option of texting questions to them.

Asheville/East NC
Good location approximately 20 minutes to Biltmore, close to Chimney Rock, multiple places to hike and see waterfalls. Convenient to stores. Plenty of room for extended family of 12 with kids and adults. Large yard, nice outdoor porch’s, and all beds were comfortable. Several maintenance issues quick response to most serious safety issue and housekeeping supply needs; several issues the management company stated they would deal with after we left. So hope the next vacationers have a lighted refrigerator, light fixed over the stove, light bulbs left for the lamps, window shade in one of bedrooms fixed, and broken stair rail fixed.

Gorgeous house. Everyone was comfortable and happy. A little strange that there was no toilet paper in the whole house when we arrived but there was a place to buy some right down the street.

We stayed here for a family girls' weekend with ages ranging from 4 years old to 60+. We loved how spacious the house was, plenty of room for games and eating and sleeping without being on top of each other. The kids really enjoyed having so much yard to run in and loved the swing set. The adults thoroughly enjoying sitting and chatting on the front porch. It took us about 25 minutes to get to Biltmore and Asheville, which worked fine for us. The communication from the rental company was top notch. They texted me all the codes and information I needed and were quick to respond with any issues. The internet was a little spotty at times and the kitchen is well stocked, but could probably use a clean out (perhaps three nice, quality pans instead of 15 so-so pans), but those are the only thing I can think to say on the negative side. I'd recommend this property to anyone looking to get some fresh air and get away from it all; we had a great time!

My family enjoyed a fantastic reunion in the Asheville area, staying at Hart House. The house was clean, well-maintained, and had plenty of space indoors and out for us to relax and for the little ones to play. A great big home away from home!
5.0 / 5.0
I rented the Hart House for a women's retreat and needless to say, the Hart House exceeded my expectations! Not only was it centrally located, making all of our activities easy to get to (Navitat Zip Line, Nantahala Outdoor Center, Chimney Rock, Lake Lure, Asheville) but it was clean, cozy, comfortable, romantic and spacious. I'd recommend this property anytime and hope to rent it for my family to enjoy too.

This was the perfect house for my daughter's wedding weekend! All the bridesmaids stayed with us and it was wonderful to be in a home as opposed to a hotel! We had the rehearsal dinner here and it was perfect. Love sitting on the porches! Mary is so nice to deal with, making us feel very welcomed. Thomas and Henry (Mary's dogs) came to greet us and loved hanging out with us on the porch. The setting here is so beautiful that we decided to have all the wedding pictures made here instead of the wedding venue. Great week!

This property is amazing; not only is the interior of the house gorgeous, the outside is gorgeous as well.
I would highly recommend this property to my friends. It is very kid friendly; we had three boys under the age of 10, and the backyard was their favorite spot. They also really liked the fire pit for roasting S'Mores! We will definitely go back here again. It has all the amenities of home; we took so much back home because the owners kitchen was fully equipped. Mary Hart, the proprietor, is so easy to deal with and answered any questions we had. Thomas and Henry (the dogs) were friendly and always at our back door waiting for us to come out and give them attention. I highly recommend Hart House. You wont be disappointed!

We found this property, the grounds, and the owner all a pleasure. We had several special attention issues (Tables and Chairs delivered, Oxygen Delivered...) and the owner worked with us and was exceptionally helpful. Even making suggestions to help with the setting up and hosting the Rehearsal Dinner.
The house itself is incredible. The bedrooms were roomy, and the kitchen wonderful.
I also wanted to comment on the view. In walking around the house, you could not find a direction to look that was not beautiful.
5.0 / 5.0
This beautiful and spacious home was the perfect place for us! Not only was the place gorgeous, but very clean and well kept. The bedrooms were large and very comfortable - nice mattresses and linens. The living areas were nicely decorated and we enjoyed spending time together in those rooms. We also enjoyed the porches - with great views and comfortable seating. We really enjoyed the quiet and relaxing atmosphere. The kitchen was laid out well and stocked with all the supplies we needed - we made use of the large refrigerator and multiple ovens. We had 21 adults staying and sleeping in the home together and we felt very comfortable. We didn't even fight over bathroom space! We didn't have children with us on this trip, but it would be a great place for kids to come and enjoy as well. We so appreciated the hospitality and the amenities, such as coffee, firewood, and internet access. After our stay, we went into downtown Asheville, a close and easy drive. I would definitely recommend The Hart House to any family or group!

The Hart house boasts spectacular views, scenery, and promotes an incredibly tranquil ambiance. Not only is the outdoor scenery spectacular, but also the inside of the house is breathtaking. The high ceilings, hardwood floors, and immaculate decor give the house a welcoming, yet spa-like feel.
Let's not forget the cleanliness of the palatial oasis. It's very apparent housekeeping comes frequently to uphold the standard of excellence the house exudes! Amazing!
Please come vacation to this house of serenity!!!

5.0 / 5.0
We maxed out at 21 in the house for our wedding. We had a fantastic time staying at Hart House and enjoyed plenty of space for everyone to gather together or find room to be alone. Beds were so comfortable, the master suite was cozy despite its enormity. Beautifully furnished throughout, with no shortage of towels, pillows, kitchen amenities, sitting room, etc. So many thoughtful touches like a second coffee and tea bar upstairs as well as one in the kitchen, lights on the trees in the backyard, and makings for s'mores on the kitchen counter. Mary even left a beautiful wedding card for my wife and I. This was an awesome experience, families and friends meeting for the first time in a relaxed and comfortable atmosphere. Exceeded expectations; the pictures, descriptions, and reviews do not do it justice - a jaw-dropping moment when you walk inside and see it first-hand. We are anxious to find another reason to rent Hart House again on our next trip to Asheville!
5.0 / 5.0
My family and I just spent Thanksgiving at Hart House. We have met up for years in the mountains, but this is the first time we used Hart House. We will definitely be back. Never have we stayed in a house that had so many amenities provided. There were more towels than a family of sixteen could use. Soap, dishwashing detergent, laundry soap, and so many more things were available. My grandchildren could not believe that s'mores fixing were there and waiting for them. There were games and movies for us to enjoy. The decor of the home was inspirational and so tasteful. The furniture, and more importantly, the mattresses were all very comfortable. We enjoyed the many fireplaces and the outdoor fire pit. It was very obvious that the owner wanted us to be comfortable in the home, and she was wonderful to deal with. Hart House felt like a home, and not just a house.
