About this cabin rental
Relax in our quiet, quaint & super cute cottage in Northwest Connecticut. Just 2 hours from NYC. Spend your days antiquing, going to our local farmers' market, or just watching cows roam in a nearby pasture & your nights, staring up at the star-filled sky while toasting smores next to our amazing fire pit. It's the perfect getaway to rejuvenate and to reconnect with nature. Some of the best hiking trails in all of Northeast are literally just out the front door, including the Appalachian Trail!
The space
The cabin is located on a designated scenic route which follows the Housatonic river, so you’ll see groups of bikers or backpackers every now & then. You are also with walking distance of a great waterfall, but most importantly some of the best canoeing, kayaking, and fly-fishing the Northeast has to offer. Oh yeah, you're also within five miles of one of the most scenic covered bridges in all of America (as voted by Travel & Leisure Magazine)
2 hour drive from NYC and if you want to come via train, it's the last stop (Wassaic) on the MTA Harlem line and a 20 min cab ride (we can give you #) to the cabin. From there it's a leisurely 20 min walk just over the bridge to the little town of Falls Village. Many amazing restaurants with plenty of outdoor seating.
For a bit of an added treat, our neighbors are Whippoorwill Farms, organic farmers who provide grass-fed beef to many high-end restaurants in the area. Go visit their little store on Friday or Saturday and grill up some of the best darn burgers you’ve ever had. **We understand they are delivering during these times and avail for pickup during the week**
Guest access
You will have the entire place to yourself.
Other things to note
We have a bedroom upstairs and a bedroom downstairs as well as a pull out couch, so we can comfortably house 6 persons.

Location was perfect for us. Very private, great communication, beautiful property. We saw lots of turkeys and deer. Kitchen has everything you need, nice gas stove and new refrigerator. Very comfortable environment.

A truly authentic cabin experience with all the necessary modern amenities needed for a great weekend out of the city (new and clean kitchen appliances to create a delicious meal with locally sourced produce and meat, and AC in the bedrooms to escape this crazy heat!) Very quiet/peaceful, secluded and yet just minutes from a lively town and the lake. Will be coming back to this property and Falls Village again!

Great change of pace
Coming from the city, the cabin gives a great rustic feel while still having the amenities needed for comfort. Had a great stay with our toddlers. Fire pit was a plus.
