About this house rental
Our purpose-built, self-contained, and simply stunning studio cottages make a perfect base for those wanting a home away from home whilst in the heart of the Nottinghamshire countryside.
Located in the garden of Maun River Cottage, a 17th century farmhouse and beautiful family home that has been welcoming guests to its B&B for over 25 years.
These self-contained cottages were designed and built in 2014 to complement the 17th century farmhouse. With dark wooden beams, an open plan living and dining area, stylish and fully equipped kitchen and en-suite bathroom with a walk-in shower and freestanding rolltop bath, these self-catering holiday lets are small but perfectly formed!
Each cottage has bi-folding patio doors that open onto a private seating area within the garden. With stunning rural views over the River Maun and the fields beyond it, the garden boasts an artificial lawn meaning it can be enjoyed all-year round, whatever the season. We offer flexible sleeping arrangements with the option of one king-size or 2 single beds.
There’s also an original, restored beautiful red telephone box adding to the sense of heritage and pride this property exudes.
A generous welcome and continental breakfast basket awaits you, and Alan and Theresa are often around to share local knowledge of the best places to visit, the best routes to get you there and point you in the direction of the best pubs and restaurants all within walking distance!

Had a good communication with the owner for check in, the driveway turning was tight especially as cars were parked right opposite it.The property was lovely with milk and breakfast things for us. We did find the restaurant nextdoor a bit off putting because of the smell of garlic bread and the constant noise until 9pm of the fan outside that was the extraction of the kitchen, against the fence must have been the bottle bin as every now and then a load of bottles were tipped in it making a lot of noise, the security light also on all night lighting up the cottage. If you are use to traffic noise then the A616 won't bother you, however we found it loud and not the river side haven we thought.

Only thing I can think of to make it better is a easy chair along with the sofa

really enjoyable, just a bit too close to the Italian restaurant and its music for us, but if you don't mind a bit of loud music, it's a great place to stay.

Excellent Stay, very nice apartment and extremely pleasant owners, easy bus access to Nottingham, Mansfield and Edwinstone. Walking distance to a couple of nice pubs plus a bonus of an Italian restaurant on your doorstep with a beer garden alongside the river. Would highly recommend
