Wonderful, delightful gem of a property. Even though it is located on the main road in town, you feel like you are off the beaten path once you are inside the unit. Spacious kitchen, beautiful back terrace all the comfort of home. The narrow twist staircases are definitely something to consider if you have mobility issues. I am pretty agile with good balance, and I had to take my time going up and down the stairs, but certainly Not a deterrent from renting again. I only mention so that people realize the stairs can be tricky.
Moreton in Marsh is a charming town and a great launching pad to explore other neighboring towns. We took a lovely 7 mile walk that connected us to two other towns and didn’t even have to use the bus.

We thoroughly enjoyed our 5-night stay in Wendle Cottage. We managed to park for free directly outside the cottage each day. The kitchen is beautifully appointed with quality gadgets, glasses, crockery and cutlery and is great for in-house dining. Despite the chilly weather, the cottage was warm and we did not need to use the log burner in the sitting room. The spiral staircase to the first and second floors is very steep and great care is needed when going up and down but the hand rail/rope and poles give a measure of confidence. Both bathrooms are adequate, although we would have liked to have had a non-slip mat in the first floor bath/shower. The beds are comfortable but the top floor room is an awkward configuration for accommodating the double bed which is two single beds joined, meaning that the person sleeping next to the wall would need to climb over the other person to get out during the night. We found a few things that needed attention and left a note on the kitchen table about these. None of them detracted from our enjoyment of the cottage.

The cottage was warm and clean. It is on the main street of Moreton in Marsh which was both a blessing and a curse. You are close to all the facilities that Moreton has to offer but is also a curse as the first floor bedroom is very noisy. Traffic rumbles through the town both day and night!
The first floor bathroom has a freestanding ball and claw footed bath with a waterfall shower above. Unfortunately this is very difficult to use unless you are very short so we ended up using the upstairs shower .
The off the Road parking place is very useful.
Net curtains would have been useful to the living room as people walk past the window affording you no privacy.
If you are a very sound sleeper this cottage may suit you.

Cannot fault the cottage , fantastic location (although the downside is ease of parking , the lay-by at the front of the house is as often in accessible due to cars blocking the space)
The weekend we stayed at the cottage there was a very loud fairground set up along the high street , this was problematic as the noise was loud and went on until late . It seemed like a planned event and would have been useful to have been notified of this event by the rental company as this would have lmpacted our decision to stay in this location

Lovely cottage, reasonably well equipped (some oven to tableware would be nice). Steep steps need better rails, the ropes don't really work well. The bath is slippy, there is nothing to hold onto and no anti-slip mats. Heating is controlled by turning the radiators up and down, which is a fiddle. We ended up leaving them on and opening doors and windows.
Parking isn't easy. You can park on the Fosse Way but will annoy the traffic. Outside the house is fine but the space gets blocked by the kitchen company and it is tricky to reverse out. I parked on the other side of the road eventually, but as the road is very busy you need to walk to the pedestrian crossing to get across.
You pay for the easy access to the town, shops, restaurants and station by being next to a very busy road - day and night. Cars at the front, trains at the back.
But all said the cottage suited our purpose for a week as a base. Too many downsides to rebook, but some within the owner's gift to fix.

The cottage is in a great location on the high street and we had no problem parking outside throughout our stay. The property has plenty of character but could do with some attention to certain items which are broken, I highlighted these areas in my return and quickly had a response. The communication with stay Cotswold was very efficient.

Beautiful little cottage comfortable and homely and excellent location, lovely decor.
Only downsides arrived on 29th Dec for 4 days to see New Year in, and our first time away for New Year, no Xmas decs left, except for a couple of very small garlands which was a little disappointing.
Problem with dimmer light in main bedroom and bedside lights didn’t work in main bedroom. Only one was managed to be fixed during our stay, but maintenance guy helpful & friendly.
Welcome pack disappointing after reading other comments re great items left, we found a packet of biscuits and milk, didn’t even have tea bags. Considering it was New Year and we had paid extra for this a bottle of vino or Prosecco would have been a nice touch.

A beautifully furnished cottage in the main High Street, handy to the station but we could also see the tents set up on market day, from the front door.
Very cosy but not suitable to everyone as the stairs are a challenge. (We did not attempt to take our bags up to the bedrooms). Perfect if you are agile.

Lovely cottage but a few area felt a little tired. Both shower heads could do with replacing as water sprays everywhere!
There was a fun fair when we stayed, which had thumping base until 10pm. I would recommend informing guests about this before letting them book. If we had known this, we wouldn’t have booked the cottage, we had a 1 year with us and it didn’t make the most relaxing stay.
It’s also worth noting that the stairs are very steep and dangerous, not baby friendly at all.

Great location for exploring on foot or car.
Beds were so comfy and lovely bedding.
Super nice kitchen with everything we needed and the welcome pack was very appreciated.
The garden area could do with a good weed, some planting and furniture set out ready to use, to be more inviting to sit in.
Parking outside was always available during our stay. Overall great cottage to stay in

Overall the setting and location was good.
The cottage was cute and small.
The cleanliness of the kitchen in particular and dirty dishes old in the dishwasher and cutlery tray which wouldn’t clean was not fun!
Staircases are precarious (especiallly with large suitcases) and we are not children or elderly!
We struggled to find the apartment. No street numbers. Had to call a few times to get an explanation on how to find the cottage.
The upstairs bedroom is an odd arrangement. No plugs, bedside tables, light switches.
Parking was touch and go to get in and out of because of others blocking you into your parking / street.

The cottage is very old and not without its challenges. The stairs are very steep and this is mentioned in the details.
We arrived early and someone was there fixing new hand rails on the stairs. He assured us the property would be ready for check in at 4 pm . It was which was great. Unfortunately one of the rails came of the first time we went up the stairs, this could have caused a bad accident. I informed the caretaker and she said she would send someone to fix it . We decided we could manage our stay without that particular rail and declined.
I don’t think any of the floors had been washed before our arrival as they were dusty and quite dirty. The dishwasher was still running when we arrived. There are skylights in the kitchen but no poles were provided to open them. Beds are comfortable and all linen is of good quality which was lovely. We just feel the whole house is in need of a deep clean.
Overall we had a good time . We would recommend the cottage but with some reservations

My daughter and I stayed in Wendle Cottage. We loved the location, despite the road outside being quite busy at times. Moreton-in-Marsh has lots to offer for those stay home days, and a supermarket, good coffee shops, and Otis and Belle makes good bread. We had no trouble parking near the cottage. The kitchen is very well appointed (though the oven did need a clean when we stayed), and we had everything we needed. The only negative is the steep and narrow stairs, especially challenging as I had an injured knee. But I managed by taking it slow and carefully. It would be nice to sit in the garden on sunny days, but it is a little forlorn. My daughter made good use of the book of Gloucestershire walks which was in the cottage. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

A warm welcome on arrival to this pretty cottage as the heating was on and a beautifully lit Christmas tree was up in the sitting room, a very comfy double bed, soft towels and a comfy sofa, well equipped cottage and beautifully furnished however the ground floor is the best space in the cottage. The steep twisting staircase is difficult even for an active and able bodied person like myself, there was a rope handrail seen on the website photos but it appears to have been removed or never replaced, so getting up and down the stairs needs concentration, this is quite dangerous in my opinion and needs attention before someone falls down the stairs please. The bedside lights look attractive but you have to get out of bed to switch then off! (someone didn't think that one through)The bathroom is lovely however the shower in the bathtub is not very practical as the shower curtain sticks to your body (I'm not large), also at 5ft 7 the impressing rain shower was only a few inches above my head. The only other disappointment was the welcome tray which comprised of a packet of ginger nuts & milk, the coffee machine however was welcome. I'm sure other visitors will love the cottage, but I wouldn't return.

The cottage is perfectly located for the shops/restaurants and public transport. The interior is lovely, cosy and warm downstairs. Cold upstairs in loft and heating did not work there. Stairs are a hazard. We left our cases downstairs and took what we needed by hand upstairs! Would be great to have a downstairs toilet to avoid doing the stairs in the day time. First floor bedroom window not fitting properly so draughty and noisy from road traffic at night. All said, we really enjoyed our stay and probably would come back to use as a local base.

We had a lovely stay, it was relaxing very comfortable. Interior is within keeping of the cottage property, which made it feel lovely and homely. Kitchen well equipped. Only faults were the radiator in the kitchen you could not turn down due to the nozzle dial broken and slight damp smell in the main bathroom. However everything else was perfect, the stairs are steep but we were prepared by that. We can't wait to revisit, it exceeded our expectations :)

We really enjoyed our stay. The property is characterful, beautifully furnished, very clean and well situated right in the centre of Moreton-in-Marsh which has a great selection of cafes, restaurants and little shops.
We didn’t park immediately outside as it was a little tight but there was no shortage of parking within a minute just along the High St.
It had pretty much everything we needed and although not much is provided in the way of consumables- there are places to buy within a couple of minutes walk.
We did find the master bedroom very noisy throughout the night with traffic thundering right past which kept us awake. We had expected some noise with it being on the High St but the window in that bedroom is single glazed with a little gap which did not block the noise out at all. The bedroom on the top floor is not affected by noise as there is no window to the front.
We also found it uncomfortably warm, especially downstairs, as you are unable to adjust the heating without contacting the manager.
The description makes the issue with the stairs very clear so we were expecting that and it didn’t worry me at the time of booking - but the treads really are very narrow, steep, uneven and no handrail. To the upper flight the rope handrail was hanging loose in the middle of the steps to give an added trip hazard!

A quaint little cottage on the high street very handy for the local services and very well equipped.

Great high spec property
We had a great time and Wendle Cottage was a great place to stay. It is finished to a high specification that isn’t often seen in holiday properties. Comfortable and well equipped. We were there during a hot period in summer but it stayed nice and cool in the main living areas. Great location although if a light sleeper you may need ear plugs as road noise can be loud in main bedroom if windows open. Also be aware of what the owners state re the staircase as it is tight and steep. All in all a great stay that we’d highly recommend!

Beautifully Renovated Cottage
A quintisental Cotswold Cottage in Morton in Marsh High Street with its delightful golden stone listed buildings.
Set on three stories it’s compact but tastefully furnished with quality fabrics and furnishings. The two internal stairs cases need to be given serious consideration as they are exceptionally steep and narrow. Apart from that it’s an ideal cottage, giving you the true feeling of being somewhere very different .

A pleasant stay
We stayed in Wendle cottage for a month. It is right in the heart of the town so a great location. However parking next to the cottage, which is readily available, can be tricky as you often have to reverse out onto the main road. The cottage is very well equipped apart from the lack of washing machine. The stairs are definitely challenging and definitely not for anyone with mobility issues! One of the beds in the top bedroom has a rather uncomfortable mattress. The water pressure in the ensuite isn't great. The WiFi is excellent and the cottage was lovely and warm.
Overall we enjoyed our stay and would recommend it. It's nice to have pubs and restaurants on your doorstep. We recommend the Redesdale Arms for a drink!

Cosy and clean Cotswold stay
A lovely stay at Wendle Cottage for our mini moon following our wedding in the Cotswolds. A fantastic base to discover all that the Cotswolds has to offer. The cottage is cosy and clean with more than enough space for two people to relax in. For us, the bed was a little uncomfortable, but we could put that down to personal preference. There was also a light fixture and a kitchen plinth that fell down unexpectedly during our stay, nothing a quick fix won't sort! Do take note of the steep staircase warning when booking, as they are VERY steep and the bottom set does not have a handrail. Finally, we would highly recommend eating at the White Hart Royal, fabulous food and only a 1min walk away!

Wendle Cottage
Wendle Cottage is perfectly located on high street and close the train station (we didn't even take the car)
Nice, cosy cottage with everything you need, just be careful of the narrow short stairs!
Would definitely recommend staying here again.

Lovely cottage in good location
Wendle Cottage is a lovely cottage in a good location to get to other villages in the Cotwolds. The cottage is great for adults, little kids and older people might struggle with the stairs. Parking is also quite tight for larger cars but there is a Market car park just round the corner, 2 minutes away and very reasonably priced. We had a great stay here.

Lovely cottage, well equipped. Parking a little tricky we had a small car so not too bad. Location great for visiting the main villages and towns.
