Our family of adults and teens all enjoyed this peaceful and comfortable cabin. The beds are comfortable, and the space was cozy and great for conversation while allowing room for everyone to spread out. We spent a lot of time on the deck and in our hammocks just outside. It’s close to both Pactola and Sheridan lakes, so our fishermen stayed busy. Everything about our stay went smoothly and we would easily go again.

Plenty of space for my family of 6. 3 adults, 2 teenagers and three adults. You are in the mountains and you really get the feel of the black hills. Would 100% stay here again. Michael was responsive to all my questions.

Loved the location and the property was clean. Inside was a little dark, maybe more overhead lights. Would maybe suggest another couple fans as it got hot upstairs. Overall would stay there again.

This cabin exceeded my my expectations, I would book it again in the future!

This little house was perfect. we had 4 adults and 5 kids ages 7 to 11. It was off the highway on a windy road, depending what you are looking for. We didnt mind the drive. very close to keystone, hill city, pactola, and lake Sheridan. Thank you for an amazing stay!

“Highly recommend this lovely cabin! It was spotless, well stocked with everything you could possibly need. The beds were extremely comfortable. Excellent communication from the owner- very clear and easy check-in and check-out information. The cabin location is in the center of the Black Hills National Forest and was perfect for our needs and where we planned to go each day. Wi-Fi was excellent. We hope to stay again!”

Great cabin. Very quiet, clean and convenient to Custer State Park, Mount Rushmore and Deadwood snowmobile trails. This was an amazing cabin in a great location with easy access to all the Black Hills National Forest must-see sites. The cabin was clean and well supplied with plenty of space for our group of 6. Great host with a great response time. Thank you for our stay!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! Deck was perfect for enjoying quiet evenings while grilling as well as morning coffee. Cabin was clean and well stocked with everything we needed - we only had to bring our groceries. We had a question about the internet and the owner responded within minutes.

Very dark and dingy! We found blood on the linens!! Dining room table was dirty with syrup. We wanted some fresh air so we tried to open the windows but found they were painted shut. The paint on the deck was chipping off and not very safe. We noticed one of the corners of the deck was rotted and one of the support posts underneath was not even connected to the footing.Needless to say we left after only one night for health and safety reasons. We do not recommend renting this property

We had a nice stay here! While older, it was enjoyable. The house is located in a quiet area, perfect for folks who like to sit and relax. A paved road instead of dirt was probably the only thing we wanted to be different but it didn't outweigh the other nice things about the house.
Thanks again!

Wonderful stay! Everything was as described. The house had all amenities and then some. Comfortable beds and pillows. Very quiet and peaceful. The kids were missing their dog but were greeted on arrival by a couple very sweet and friendly Goldens(must be the neighbors). Even had a doe and her fawn walk right up to the deck where I was enjoying the evening. Thank you for a wonderful last minute vacation!

We very much enjoyed staying here. It is a bit out of the way, but the roads are well maintained. If you want your vacation to include some quiet relaxation this is a great choice. If you like being in the middle of the action maybe not.
The cabin is rustic enough to feel like a cabin but modern enough to be comfortable.

Cabin was very nice and clean! Comfy beds! AC worked great! I did read in past reviews about the switchback road on the way up to the cabin and that some people weren’t happy with it…we loved it! Beautiful drive and that was part of the adventure. Take it slow and enjoy drive. Conveniently located between our travels to Deadwood, Mount Rushmore and Custer state park.

This property was in a lovely location and very quiet.
The three of us staying here were all over the age of 60. We found the property very accommodating. The only issue we had was low water pressure when we arrived. The owner was contacted and responded quickly. Even though the water pressure was improved, we quickly learned that water could only be used in one area at a time. We adapted and enjoyed our stay. We were there during the Sturgis Rally but we were quietly tucked away from all of the hustle and bustle,
This location is perfect for day trips to all of the Black Hills attractions!
One last perk was our daily visits from PAX, the kind neighbor Pat’s golden retriever! As all of us were “dog people” and missing our “fur babies”, PAX was a much enjoyed treat!

We greatly enjoyed our stay. Close to all the tourist things, although a bit of a drive up the mountain. The kids liked all having their own bed (family of 7). We liked being in the woods. The kids loved the coffee fuse-ball table. Washer and dryer looked brand new and worked great.

Everyone loved our stay!

Our Family really enjoyed our time in the Black Hills . The cabin’s location was a short distance from all the places we wanted to see. The only drawback, at least initially, was the slow and spotty internet connection. However, the host provided lots of games to play and it was nice to see our kids enjoying nature and unplugging from their devices . Also, the other cabins were far enough away that we had privacy and we felt totally submerged in the wilderness and beauty of the Black Hills . If your looking for a place to unplug and unwind this is the perfect spot!

We love the Black hills! We were excited to find a place close to all the attractions we wanted to do. Your house was the perfect location. Though I get nervous on winding roads, everyone else in our group loved it. It is a bit of a trek up to get to the house, but the serene atmosphere was worth the drive. The home itself was perfect for our group of 7. The kids were excited they each got their own bed. It was wonderful having the large fridge and 2 bathrooms. The upstairs bathroom is rather small and hard for adults to use but we made do! Thanks for a beautiful, relaxing place for us to come home to after long days of exploring!

We loved everything! The cabin was cute and roomy enough for my kids and grandkids. The deck was great for spending time outside and watch the grandkids run around the property. Short drive to Black Hills attractions.

This home was our base for almost a week of exploring the Black Hills.
3 generations of family enjoyed themselves. The little touches of staples in the kitchen, laundry detergent and dryer sheets, the games (electronic and old school), the videos (not that you'll be in the house much because most of our time spent at the cabin was on the deck (or sleeping) , BBQ tools and grill....a lot of thought was put in to this place.
Yes the upstairs bathroom is an adventure for tall people, but totally doable. And memorable.
Pax, Cooper, and Shilo liked to visit the kids but they went home when told. We had to go say goodbye to Pax before we left because the kids were in tears about leaving without saying goodbye.

We were a group of 7 adults on four motorcycles. We arrived in the dark, in a slight rain, following GPS. We were surprised to find a maintained dirt road with steep grades and switchbacks. The cabin is nice and clean with all of the required amenities; towels, dishes, cookware etc.. The water pressure and hot water were excellent, absolutely no issues with 7 adults showering. We found that the deck requires maintenance (broken and loose boards and nails sticking up. Our stay was perfect until day 6, when the AC developed an issue. I notified the owner, who was very responsive, and an attempt was made to remedy the situation, however a HVAC tech was needed, but unable to arrive until after our stay. the solution was to open the windows (the screens have been renovated by the resident red squirrel). All in all I was happy with my stay. In the future I will do further inquiry about motorcycle access when I see the statement switchback county road.

Enjoyed the cabin. Family loved it. Drank my morning coffee on deck every day.

Road was tough. It got use to it, missed a dish washer but overall a great vacation

Such a beautiful cabin in a beautiful location! We had a wonderful and comfortable stay and enjoyed all the things this cabin had to offer. Quiet despite having other cabins nearby and we loved sitting on the porch in the morning watching the squirrels and listening to the birds.
When I had questions for the host, I received a quick response! We would definitely stay here again!

Great value and very comfortable.
Highly recommend. Plan your grocery store trips en route. Has everything you need except a dishwasher. Tall people use downstairs shower. :)

Black Hills Tourist
Overall, our week in this cabin was great. We had a rought start as the upstairs bathroom leaked into the downstairs bathroom, and the cabin had a smell. However, we opened some windows and the smell became unoticed, and the neighbor turned the water off to the upstairs sink for our stay. The location made all areas in the Black Hills easily accessible with short 30 minute drive, some on a winding gravel road. We loved watching DVDs and playing games at night. The cabin was clean and the beds were comfortable. This cabin worked well for our family, but could use some updates and a little TLC.

Family Vacation
Beautiful location. The deck railing is not suitable for small children and the upstairs bathroom will not accommodate adults due to the ceiling height.

We really enjoyed the cabin and all of the room. We liked sitting on the deck! We also loved there were movies to watch at night. The communication with the owner was great!

Great cabin off the beaten path
My family rented this beautiful cabin for 5 days in June. We had a fantastic time there was just enough room for all of us. We loved sitting on the porch at night and enjoying the silence of the hills.
There are a few items listed in the posting that I feel could use more details. One of them is that with the three miles of switchback roads it takes about 20 minutes to get from the cabin to the main highway. The second shower upstairs in the cabin is very small and could not accommodate anyone over 5 ft tall. One of the bedrooms with two queens is actually a balcony over the main floor so any sound happening downstairs will travel.
Even considering these things we had a fantastic time the property was beautiful. The beds were very very comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked. There were plenty of board games to play and movies to watch.

This cabin was great. It does need some upgrades and a little tlc, but nothing bothered us. We are North woods people. It is quite a ride into town, so we always tried to get what we needed before we came back from a long day of sight seeing. We would stay there again in a heartbeat! 😁
