It was a perfect wedding anniversary get away feeling like we were alone on a beautiful place!

Oh my... where to start. Summer Creek Inn was the very best place we have ever stayed in! Nancy and Daniel were the best hosts. Wonderful service, breakfasts that were delicious, coffee that I looked forward to each morning and a view that is just wonderful.
Our room was immaculate! Well appointed with everything you need for a comfortable stay. They provide a wonderful check in, showing us to our room and giving us a quick tour and how to for everything. The property is beautiful, quiet and serene. We enjoyed the beautiful waterfall and pretty fireplaces outside and walked all over the property and down the road a few times each day. We will definitely be back and will never stay anywhere else when we visit South Dakota.

The accommodations were amazing. The place is beautiful and in a quiet location. My daughter and I enjoyed a wonderful breakfast on our first day before going out to see the local sights. The location is perfect for visiting Mount Rushmore, Crazy Horse and the Badlands.
The owners were very helpful, they recommended a great place to eat as well as provided a map of the area.
We would definitely stay again.

Dan and Nancy are great host. They couldnt have been more pleasant. The place is beautiful and couldn't have been more thought out. Every detail was meticulously thought of. We would come back in a heartbeat. The "ONLY" ask, is that folks have an option at breakfast. We had a couple folks who were allergic to an item served at breakfast.

Nancy and Dan, owners, could not be more helpful, lovely and knowledgeable!!! Their Inn is super quaint and comfortable after a long day at Mt.Rushmore - not to mention their delicious and hearty breakfast!!! Dan knew the area well and Nancy was great with restaurant recommendations! Thank you, thank you!!!

The Bed and Breakfast is centrally located to all that South Dakota has to offer. The Breakfasts were by far some of the Best we have ever had. Every morning we were delighted with the amazing coffee and hot chocolate. Perfect place to relax after a day of site seeing.

Dan and Nancy are wonderful hosts. Setting is very pretty and facility is very well maintained. Breakfast each day was wonderful.Severa items could be improved - no WiFi was difficult for us who have ATT as there is no service at the Inn. Television could be upgraded. And lastly a little oil needs to be applied to the doors - at least in our suite as they all squeezed. Despite these minor items we would definitely stay at the Summer Creek Inn again if we pass through that area.

We had a wonderful 4 night stay at Summer Creek Inn. The property was beautiful, staff was welcoming, and the breakfast was delicious! Summer Creek Inn is a special place! Location was great for all of the attractions in the Black Hills. It was so nice to come back to a beautiful, comfortable room at the end of a long day. Big Thank You to Nancy and Dan!

The Good: Beautiful, quiet, scenic surroundings and the staff was friendly and helpful. The Inn itself is in great condition, and beautifully landscaped. Beds and all furnishings were comfortable and relatively new.
The Bad: No internet service for your computer and minimal/spotty cell service in the area. I had difficulty communicating with work, but more importantly with friends to coordinate meeting spots, for food, drinks and adventures.
If you want a quiet, secluded, romantic getaway with no distractions..., this is the perfect spot. Reasonably priced and has a great Breakfast.

We booked Summer Creek Inn to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary and it surpassed all of our expectations! It was worth every penny and we would honestly fly to Rapid City from Michigan just to stay again at Summer Creek! This was our first time in the area and Summer Creek was my favorite part of the trip! I cannot say enough about this place. Dan and Nancy were the best! Our room was incredible. It is the perfect location for sight seeing in the Rapid City area. We could have stayed in our room the whole time and been totally content.

The owners are so rude - an ongoing theme in other reviews. They had paper in reception - visible - with my card details (number, expiration, CVV) and when I questioned this the man was very rude and insulting and refused to let me settle the bill and shred the information. The breakfast was the same for everyone - bacon quiche. We were forced to sit with strangers and I could not eat anything as I don't eat meat. I was still charged though. Nancy is such a rude woman, I think she is in the wrong business. There is also no WiFi or phone signal and the air-con was freezing and not adjustable. The bed was 4 poster but small and uncomfortable and our stay overall was horrible, expensive and a really disappointing start to our honeymoon.

The Summer Creek Inn was outstanding! Every detail is thought of to make for a fabulous stay. The beds were made with flannel sheets, down comforters and probably the best pillows I’ve ever had away from home. The fireplace in the room made it perfect. The breakfasts are not to be missed. We loved our stay - five stars!!! Highly recommend!!

A fabulous BnB in a beautiful and convenient location. This property was built with guests in mind. The grounds are filled with water features, plants and flowers. Common areas are comfortable and inviting. Guest rooms are spacious, well-appointed, and private; we did not hear other guests although all the rooms were filled. Breakfast was the icing on the cake--delicious and varied. Amazing value. Even the spotty internet access can't take away from the great experience here.

Beautiful Inn. Staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. Facilities were excellent and room was beautiful, comfortable and clean. It is located right next to Forrest, which is full of wildlife. Just keep in mind wifi and phone service isn't good because of location. Staff did offer phone to make local calls.

Photos indicate the inn has multiple stories, but nowhere on the website does it state there is no elevator nor any concierge help to get bags up the flights of stairs to the top floor. We didn't know our suite was on the top floor & hadn't asked about these things. We arrived "after hours," which meant we had to let ourselves in, & were shocked to see the stairs we'd have to maneuver w/ our bags (one bag being quite large). It's not that we're lazy; I have arthritis, & going up & down those stairs was very challenging. While the description of our suite mentioned a couple's whirlpool, we had no idea it'd take up a corner of the guest room; that thing was weird with varied lighting options & the water coming from the ceiling. It was right in front of the fireplace, so it's not like you could sit together & enjoy the fire. The "sitting area" is actually 2 chairs on opposite sides of the TV, facing the bed. In order to watch TV, we had to pull the chairs together at the foot of the bed. No biggie, but there'd be plenty of room for a lovely sitting area if the funky tub was not in the bedroom! Bathroom lighting is quite poor, & there is no table/desk or small chair anywhere to allow someone who normally sits at a vanity (to get ready in the morning) to do the same. There is no mini-fridge, microwave, or coffee maker in the room (coffee is available downstairs). Our sleep was rudely disrupted by some kind of water heater in the wall next to our room that hummed loudly.

We feel this is the best property in the area. It does have a different feel than a hotel as it is an Inn. Hosts were kind and hospitable. The only area we felt awkward about was the prompt to leave a gratuity based on a percentage of the entire room charge. I have never experienced that on any room bill. We leave a gratuity always for housekeeping, bell boys, concierge or any other employee, however we wouldn’t tip the owners of a property. There was no other staff present during our stay, maybe during busier times that is not the case. We would still however stay again.

Dan and Nancy were exceptional hosts at their beautiful Inn. We couldn't have been more pleased with the accommodations. We came to the area for the Sturgis rally and Summer Creek was a wonderful respite at the end of the day. We loved it so much we have already booked for next year! I would highly recommend Summer Creek Inn to anyone who would like to enjoy the beauty of the Black Hills! Michael and Lisa from Batavia Illinois

Gorgeous Home! The waterfall in back is stunning. Our room was very comfortable and roomy. There is an extra charge if you want their breakfast which starts at 8:30. We didnt participate in that as we wanted to get an early start on our day. The area is wonderful to explore and is centrally located to Mt Rushmore and Deadwood. This would be great for Weddings and family gatherings.
