The Duck House is conveniently located downtown within easy walking distance from the Creeper Trail, bike rentals, restaurants, coffee & ice cream shops, the Appalachian Heritage Distillery, Damascus Trail Center, Dollar General, and other local retail stores. Also, it is across a neighborhood street from Laurel Creek and the new Laurel Creek Park, so you can enjoy the sound of the old gristmill waterfall while you relax on the front porch or walk over to say hello to the ducks! On Saturday mornings, there is a Farmer's Market in the park where you will find local produce, meats, eggs, baked goods, craft items, and more.
The house is spacious and renovated with updates including stainless steel appliances and a large, tiled ensuite with two glass sinks, a roomy shower, and a sliding barn door. It includes a full kitchen, dining room, living room, board game room, three bedrooms, two full baths, and one half bath. All bedrooms have a queen-size bed, and there is a roll-a-way bed that can sleep one person.
Amenities include keyless entry; wireless internet; a large TV with DISH service; a board game room; towels, bed linens and pillows; stove/oven, microwave and dishwasher; dinnerware and cooking/baking essentials (and a semi-essential two-sided waffle iron ;-D); coffee maker and toaster; private outdoor space with a grill, table, chairs, fire-pit and a yard to play provided games like croquet or corn-hole; and a covered area to store bicycles.

We had a great stay at The Duck House! We enjoyed being close to the park and downtown. We rode the Virginia Creeper Trail from Whitetop to Damascus and had beautiful weather. It was nice coming back from riding our bikes to stay at The Duck House. We could easily bike to and from the bike shuttle location to the house. Our hosts David and Michelle were very helpful, communicative, and made us feel welcome. Thank you!

5 adults ages 40 thru 80. Biking, shopping, eating, talking and laughing! We did it all. Town perfect. House perfect. Hosts super friendly and helpful. We found a gem.

We really enjoyed our stay. We have been coming to Damascus to enjoy the Creeper Trail for over 8 years. We’ve always thought the Duck house was so cute. This was our first time to stay there and it is very cute. We would definitely consider staying there again.

The house was perfect for our stay. We were in town to ride the Creeper Trail and do some hiking. The house was clean, well appointed and perfectly located to walk to everything in Damascus. We really enjoyed our stay and would not hesitate to return.

The Duck House was perfect for our visit to bike the Creeper Trail and hike at Grayson Highlands. We really enjoyed the atmosphere of the little town of Damascus. If we had one disappointment it would be that many of the shops were closed on Monday and Tuesday.

This property was in one of the best locations in Downtown Damascus! Our family has been to Damascus every memorial day weekend to ride the Creeper Trail and it never disappoints. Clean property and has a newly renovated master bathroom!

Had a great stay! Everything we needed was provided and the best location in town. Walking distance to eating and shopping, Creeper Trail & the Farmer’s Market! Very accommodating host! Look forward to our next trip!

Stayed in the Duck House to meet up with my daughter and her new trail friends who are thru hiking the AT. House is in a great location to walk the Main Street of town to shop and eat. Had amazing weather while in Damascus and were able to use the outdoor table and chairs to feed some Hungry AT Thru Hikers. Loved sitting on the front porch!! We also biked the Creeper Trail on their zero day. Rented Bikes through Blue Blaze - which is right across the street. New Hotel right across the street, also where more family stayed and walked over to eat with us. Very convenient! Only thing lacking in this house is a washer and dryer (we knew that upon renting), but the hikers were able to get their clothes washed at the Hostel right down the road! House had everything we needed and more! Had a great time! Would definitely stay here again!! Thanks David!

The Duck House was perfect! Very cute, comfortable, and exceptionally clean! The Duck House was the perfect place to enjoy happy hour on the front porch and early morning coffee and a walk with the ducks and geese at the park across the street. This was our first trip to Damascus and we can’t wait to come back, and will definitely stay at the Duck House again. Thank you, David, for providing such lovely accommodations!

This house was perfect and as advertised. The beds were comfortable which is a big plus for us. The bathrooms were outstanding (2+1/2). The kitchen was spacious and there was fresh ground coffee in the frig, which got us by until we could go to the store. We never did find the washer and dryer, but maybe it was not supposed to have that. I can't recall, but we did not need them anyway. Dave stopped by to see us once during our week long stay and then again the morning we left. He lives two blocks away and was very willing to help with anything. The house is walking distance to the one restaurant in town and the food is good. There are multiple bike rental companies in town and we really liked the one called the Damascus Bike Rental that was in a little strip mall on the north end of town and right on the trail. The shuttle to the top of White Top was just as expected and downhill all the way back to Damascus. Be sure to also rent an e-bike and do the part of the trail from Damascus to Abingdon too. It is glorious scenery but a fair amount of uphill.

Our family of 6 stayed at the Duck House for two nights while we were in the area to do the Creeper Trail. There was plenty of room for our adult and teenage kids- a roll away bed meant everyone didn’t have to share beds. The house is so cute, and we could walk everywhere in town. We would definitely come back and recommend it to our friends.

What an amazing weekend. A group of 6 of us met as a college reunion weekend. The house is so stinkin cute and just a perfect fit for 6. The location is amazing…right across from the creek (and Saturday morning Farmers Market), walking distance to the distillery and convenient store. We rode the. Creeper Trail and explores the surrounding lakes. We will definitely be back!

The home and location were perfect and as advertised! Easy walk or bike ride to anything you need. The farmers market on Saturday morning, the city park, and the bourbon bar (at the Damascus Old Mill Inn) all across the street from the home were a nice bonus. We highly recommend The Duck House!!

The house is in the best location: near everything, quiet neighborhood near the river. The beds are very comfortable and the house is equipped with everything you need to cook a great meal! The owners are very kind and very responsive to any need that may arise.
