Overall, the house was very nice. At first glance, from the outside, we were concerned that we may have picked a house that wasn't as nice as we were expecting. The siding needs to be cleaned and some of the shingles were falling off. However, when we got inside of the house it looked very clean, spacious, and quaint. At night, before we went to bed our family would play board games that were provided. We played Picitionary, Sorry, and Uno.
We did have problems with the wifi password not working, which wasn't too big of a deal because we weren't in the house during the day, just at night.
There were some dirty dishes in the cupboard that I had to wash before we could use them.
It looked like new carpet was laid on the steps as well as the whole upstairs.
The steps are very small so anyone using them needs to be very careful walking up and down them.
Overall, it was a good place.

House needs a lot of love. Have to open the windows because there is no ac, which is fine, but when you do there are dead bugs everywhere. The washer was not working so major inconvenience, and to get a response from rental people took three tries. Liked the walk ability to town and the lobster wharf.

Time to put more money back into this property. The location is great. We could walk to the downtown.
That being said. No A/C is a real problem in this property in the summer.
The stairway is steep and the railing isn’t to code.
The planters outside have dirt and weeds growing in them. The tables and window sills were dirty. All knives were dull and would not cut celery. Upstairs beds are uncomfortable. Window shade is taped to the window. Closet doors are hard to open and hinge is broken on one bedroom door. Bathroom upstairs window has no screen and hard to open.
Disappointed but it was nice to be able to reunite with our distant adult family members.

We had a fantastic stay at this property! The highlight was undoubtedly the breathtaking bay views, especially enjoyed from the skylight above the bed at night. It created a truly unique and romantic atmosphere.
While the accommodations were very comfortable and well-equipped for the price point, there were a few minor details that could be improved. Having a set of matching drinking glasses would have been convenient, and an information booklet outlining trash disposal procedures, Wi-Fi access details, and local recommendations would have been helpful for navigating the area.
Despite these minor suggestions, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend this property to others seeking a relaxing getaway with magnificent views. We look forward to returning on our next trip to Maine!

We stayed here for a weekend in November to see the Gardens Aglow lights at the Botanical Gardens. It was a cold weekend but sunny, the house was cozy and warm. The home itself sits up on a hill with amazing views and beautiful sunsets. There’s a nice large deck off the back. The kitchen had very basic supplies but no cooking essentials like salt and pepper, any type of spices or oils which sometimes you find in rentals. I bought some and left them behind for the next person. We found dirty dishes and glasses in the cabinets which I reported to Vacasa. The furnishings are very basic and minimal. The sofa was very uncomfortable and the TV was a little difficult to figure out with no instructions. The bedroom on the first floor was very spacious and comfortable. There’s a full bath off that bedroom that was clean but there are obnoxious bright LED bulbs in the vanity lights, you need sunglasses on while you’re in there lol. They used the same type of bulbs in the chandelier over the dining table that doesn’t have a dimmer so very bright. The stairs to the second floor are VERY steep! Caution for those with small children or the elderly. The carpet on the stairs and the second floor common area is so disgustingly stained that I reported that as well. It looked like someone spot cleaned it but it only made it look worse as the carpet needs to be replaced. There’s two bedrooms upstairs, one with a queen, the other with two twins and there’s one random twin bed in the common area. It’s a very campy feeling on the second floor. It is a short 15 minute walk into town but keep in mind that you are up on a hill which is easy to walk down but might be difficult for some to walk back up. This house has potential but needs more TLC!

Pleasant home with water views from both the east and west. As others have suggested, we pushed the twin beds together for a larger bed and the stairs are quite steep. Comfortable furniture and nicely outfitted.

We loved everything about this house. Very spacious and comfortable! The outdoor space was excellent, huge deck, fire pit, great yard! The location was perfect, Barrett park is walking distance and we spent a whole day swimming and paddle boarding. A little bit of a walk to downtown but not bad at all and its a lovely walk across the new footbridge. The house and bedrooms we very comfortable and plenty of space. Looking forward to staying here again!

Nice house in a great location. It was wonderful to have a first floor bed and bath since we were traveling with my elderly parents. The location made it easy to walk or drive to Boothbay Harbor. The only minor issues we found were spotty wi-fi and the latch on the front screen door did not work properly. Would definitely stay here again!

Nice walk to the harbor on pedestrian foot bridge. Boothbay Harbor is a great area convenient to Portland and Camden Rockport and Inland areas. We did day trips almost every day.

We loved the house and location. It's a great location, the view from the back deck is wonderful. The deck is huge and the BBQ a great addition. The rooms are all a great size and comfortable. They're only a couple things we would have liked, changed or added. The stairs leading to the upstairs room are so step my mother in law and aunt who are in their 70s and 80s could not walk up. The steps are so small I had to walk up on my tippy toes and my husband side ways. I think if there are railings on both sides it would make it easier to walk up, balance ourselves. Another suggestion changing the twin beds in the upper room to a double, so there are two beds in the room and the twin in the middle room. My husband I ended up pushing the two twin beds together, this gave us more room. Maybe add a double bed in the second room. Also, the outside lights for the deck don't stay on. I recommend adding more out side lights, so when BBQing in the evening there is light. We had to hold a flashlight when the boys where BBQing. Made for great jokes but our arms got tired. :0) I would suggest, recommend putting more outdoor lighting on the back deck, BBQ area and firepit are. Oh, and maybe some chairs to sit around the firepit. Again, we loved the house, location and are considering renting it again next year, especially if some of the our suggestion are made. Thank you

The Vacasa team was great very responsive to assist
Vacasa was helpful, however what would be helpful for renters, would be to have the wifi ID and PW posted somewhere in the house. I had to text Vacasa to get it. I also ha dto Terxt to see about getting cushions for the outdoor deck furniture. Some items of notice that the owner should address.
The storm door catches whether locked or not and you need to push the catch bar to get out. Coming in if fine, that would not be good in the event of a fire.
The toilet upstairs runs constantly and the upstairs drain is very slow.
Thanks

Short trip to Boothbay
This house is in a beautiful and convenient location. The house needs work and more amenities to give it above an “okay” rating. No basic pantry items. Minimal basic cooking needs. House was generally clean, but it is an old house and has some dingy spots. Be careful of hidden fees if it is booking through Vacasa. We paid more than we should have for this house.

Overall the property was clean and lovely. Need trash cans in bathroom and dishwasher tabs .
Easy, but additional fees should be indicated when looking at property. Emailed regarding hairdryer availability and did not receive a response.

Very clean, no frills
Everything was very clean when we arrived. Rooms all as described. First couple of days were warm, but there are several well-placed fans and they kept us all comfortable as long as the windows were open. Everything was quiet at night and everyone slept well (including our two young kids). It was a peaceful stay. Only thing that was a little annoying was the upstairs toilet which was almost always running, but it was a very minor annoyance and didn’t really affect our stay. Overall it’s a great value, and I’d stay there again.

A getaway to stay
There really wasn't a need to get in the car to go anywhere. Even when we needed something from the grocery store it was only 5 minutes away. Plenty of room and the deck is huge.

Awesome stay-wish it was longer
Home was clean, well stocked with essentials and within walking distance of restaurants, harbor, shopping and footbridge.
