This is such a private, peaceful property. It is a comfortable place with the most wonderful porches and decks with lots of chairs and couches. It was great for visiting with family and cooking meals on the grill.

Recently stayed with my family and enjoyed our time. The house was beautiful and very clean. The wrap around porch was great for the kids. We rented a pontoon for the day and conveniently docked it for a lunch break! We sat out by the fire pit in the backyard every evening. The lake is a very short walk from the house. The beach area is rocky, but other than that was as described. It was a very relaxing, peaceful getaway!

We stayed at this house in 2014 on our first family trip to the Finger Lakes area. We had such a great time, we decided to return and we created more great memories. The cabin is old and rustic but clean and well appointed. The beds were comfortable. We had two married couples in the main floor bedrooms, my aged father in the upstairs master bedroom, two teenage boys in the basement, and a tween daughter on the couch in the great room (main floor). We enjoyed playing on the lake and we used the cabin as our base for visiting other locations such as the historical sites of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Sacred Grove, Hill Cumorah, Whitmer Farm, Grandin Press), Watkins Glen, and the Strong Museum of Play. It does take an hour to 90 minutes to reach these locations but the drive is worth it to stay right on Owasco Lake in the beautiful, tranquil setting. One evening, I simply sat in a lawn chair around dusk and waited for birds and critters to come out. I saw a woodpecker, other birds, a squirrel, and a rabbit. You cannot beat the peace and quiet. We also roasted hotdogs one night over the fire pit. The host was easy to contact and responsive. Mainly, we wanted to know checkout procedures, which were minimal. Overall, I recommend the cabin and we may return again some day.

My family enjoyed a seven night stay at Nick’s property. Beautiful views of Owasco Lake were only a short walk down from the main porch. We were greeted by Jack, the local cat from a nearby lakehouse, most evenings. The property offered close driving proximity to Auburn, Skaneateles, and other Finger Lakes Region locales.
Do be careful with the hardwood floors, particularly the stairs leading to the master bedroom (I had a slip and fall while in socks). Additionally, uneven terrain around the cabin and deck could be difficult for young and elderly guests.
Overall, we had a pleasant stay, and Nick was very quick to respond to questions regarding check-in and check-out through the app. Thank you for hosting us!

My family and I had a wonderful stay! It was clean, well stocked, and comfortable. The location allowed for plenty of relaxing by the lake AND beautiful hikes. We are so thankful for our time there.

Beautiful property inside and out. The home was clean, stocked better than any rental we have been in, and we rent frequently and had dozens of board games and options for the kids when they needed a break from lake life.
The walk to the dock is beautiful thanks to the neighbors gorgeous flowers and everyone was friendly.
The only thing to note was there are not televisions in any bedroom. To our family that wasn't a negative.
Overall will look to book the property again or refer it to our family and friends.

Great location on my favorite lake. FYI: coffee machine uses K cups, so pick some up before you arrive.
Thanks for a delightful week.

Beautiful house! Private location surrounded by woods. There was a huge wrap around porch with a lot of lawn furniture. The lake was breathtaking! Quiet and peaceful. Just the right amount of lake access! Paddle boards and a kayak were available to use! We had enough room to dock our pontoon boat that we rented! We fished and swam right of the dock! Downstairs we played pool and ping pong .This was truly a beautiful perfect vacation place!

We headed upstate for a few days to celebrate the New Year and my MIL's birthday. Kitchen was very well stocked - we managed to cook a very good dinner from scratch one night! The basement had games to play and the lake is beautiful (rock beaches, so wear actual shoes). Checking in was super easy. Good grocery stores in Auburn. My only complaint is that there were other nearby properties, but we were the only ones there so we didn't have to worry about it. A great long weekend, overall!

Our only disappointment was the fireplace was not working, and we were so looking forward to sitting in front of that huge stone fireplace with a nice fire. Otherwise, everything was great.

This is our third time renting this property, now under new management. The house is beautiful and had all the amenities we needed. It is at the end of a fire lane, so it is secluded, quiet, and serene. We highly recommend this property and will definitely choose to stay there again!

The stay was great and the house had all the items listed. Wish we were able to used the lake front, the weather was fine but the temperatures were more Fall then Summer. The area had some great hiking trails and wineries within a short drive.

It was great to vacation with our college age children. The house is beautiful, clean and had all we could possibly need: lake front access with kayaks, paddle boards; big open kitchen/family room w/t.v. Large outdoor deck and grill, game room basement with pool table and ping pong.
We rented a party boat near by and enjoyed exploring and swimming in the lake from end to end.
The city of Auburn is a short drive and is a beautiful old city with great well preserved architecture, interesting museums about the history of the suffragette movement and the abolitionist movement (Harriet Tubman House). Also toured the Steward House ( President Lincoln's Secretary of State). All very interesting.
The owners were very accommodating, friendly and easy to communicate with if needed.
Highly recommend it.

Our family had a great time! I never thought about this but the wrap-around porch was soooo nice! The uncovered front porch had a small view of the water but a speculator view of the stars. With the covered-side porch offering a shaded, outside area. The owner did think of everything to make the place fun. On the outside porch, a gate was provided which allowed a toddler to bike around with one of the abundant toys found in the house. Mostly we cooked but towards the end of the trip, we ventured out and found some great food! Of course the Tom Thumb ice cream shop was delicious and what a view! Also, had a miniature course that was fun and very challenging! Great house and fun memories!!

Lovely house and very beautiful decorated but high up overlooking other houses and only peek a boo views of lake. Access to lake
Is down street and very steep to get to lake. Not for handicapped.

Comfortable house in a lovely setting
Nick's house is very comfortable and the location is good. It's just a short walk across the road and down a short hill to the lakeside area where we swam and relaxed by the water. From the house deck, you can glimpse the lake through the trees. Apart from less-than-ideal coffeemaker, our experience was fun and very relaxing.

Great lake house vacation!
Update to previous reviews- very effective WI-FI/internet; Verizon FIOS available even on the outside deck
The lake house had everything-central a/c, wrap around deck providing both sun and shade, well equipped kitchen, comfy beds as well as a basement with pool table and a side yard for lawn games with a hammock
We rented a pontoon boat at Southside Marina and picked up some of our group from our dock. We enjoyed kayaking and floating. Our dogs enjoyed the chance to swim and go for walks in the nearby nature preserve which included eagle sitings.
Nick was a responsive host and we had a relaxing lake vacation that has included golfing in Auburn and restaurants in skaneateles.

Great cottage on Lake Owasco
We had a fantastic stay last week. The cottage was very clean, comfortable and spacious for four adults. The porch has a beautiful view of the lake. We went swimming from the beach access every day and my daughter enjoyed paddle boarding on the owner provided paddle board. Best of all Is the quiet wooded location of the cottage. Far off the main road, quiet with lots of privacy. I highly recommend considering staying here.

Relaxing get away
Loved this place! Everything was super nice and spacious. The property was on a hill which was a bit steep if you go down to the beach area (for anybody that has mobility issues), but it wasn’t problematic for myself and was something that was already known. Well worth it overall and would love to return in the future!

Picture don’t do it justice
What a beautiful home! We really found it to be more than we expected! Had everything we needed, lovely setting, dog friendly, gorgeous home with beautiful lake. Our 13.5 year old dog had to go slow down the hill to the lake, but the reward of the swim was worth it! We really enjoyed it! One complaint would be we didn’t book it long enough! We realized the water dispenser wa empty when we arrived and notified the owner-he got two more bottles within the hour! Great, attentive owners!

Amazing house
This house was so clean and had all the amenities! The open floor plan was perfect for everyone to gather. There was not one thing that this house was missing. It's so hard to pick a house to rent without seeing it. This house did not disappoint. The owner Sharon was amazing. We had a major accident! I broke the glass top stove!!
Sharon had it replaced within hours! The hill to the lake is steep. However, we embraced it as our exercise for the day! It was definitely a butt buster. My heathy 75 year old parents had no problems with the hill. Someone with physical disabilities might find it a challenge. The shed at the lake had everything you could imagine. We enjoyed everything from fishing to kayaking, paddle boards, row boat and swimming. We rented a pontoon boat and docked it right on the dock. Super easy! We went into town and enjoyed the brewery's and visited the McKenzie Childs estate. We had so much fun and will be back!

Super nice accommodating owner. Helpful and around in case needed. Nice property and only downfall is hike up and down from the water as difficult for older visiting family. Other than that great time.

Family friendly lake home and Beachfront. Our family built g our time there.
The host was fabulous and rental great. My only complaint is with vrbo. There was flooding due to hurricane Fred while during our week. We had to leave rental. vrbo left it to the host to refund us or not the days we were unable to stay at the rental. rvbo didn’t back us or the host. Not sure what there 100,000 guarantee covers? Thankfully the host gladly refunded us for the days of our week we were unable to use rental due to flooding.

Beautiful Lake View-Spacious facility-Comfortable
This was our second year at this site and every bit as enjoyable as our first. The porch is usable in sunny days and has a spacious side, as well, for those times when shade is what you value.. Reasonably stocked, kitchen, bath, laundry, and game options are extensive. The beach is always clean and owner has life jackets,, paddle boards, kayaks, floaties, and plenty of seating.

Charming lake cabin
We had a fun family stay at Sharon’s property. Our three families had enough room with the maximum number allowed. The most charming part of the visit was Jack the Lake Cat who was our cat concierge and visited us daily-he must have known we are cat people. The beds were comfy, the kitchen had adequate cooking supplies and a Keurig and a traditional coffee maker. The only things to be aware of are: the internet offered doesn’t run from a high speed router. It’s a Verizon hotspot so we couldn’t stream movies on tablets and weren’t able to join a Zoom call for work (handy excuse though), the cabin is located on the hill across the drive from the owner and the beach. I recommend a beach wagon to haul gear and the terrain might present difficulty for some with balance and walking issues, the water off the beach has a lot of lake grass but once you paddle out past the shore you can swim without getting in it. The boards, kayaks and life jackets were in good condition and appreciated.

Dream vacation!
Sharon’s property is perfect for a multi-generational vacation! We were so thankful to have the basement playroom for keeping our kids busy during the few short bursts of summer rain. Otherwise, we were at the water the rest of our stay. Sharon has really thought of everything with this property. We made good use of the paddle boards and kayaks but our kids (5 and 2) were also really into floating around on the big tube and pool noodles. We had grandparents stay for part of the time and there was plenty of room for everyone. The adults all loved the pool table! Thank you again, Sharon!

Good lake space
Very easy, glad that was pet friendly during these close family times, great space to spread out full basement level and main entertainment level, make sure you bring everything to lake as you don’t want to walk uphill/down again each time you need something, overall very good

Beautiful, clean house
Three generations stayed in this house for a long weekend with hiking and wineries. The house is beautiful, clean, and well equipped. The kitchen had everything we needed, with some available spices, condiments, and plenty of utensils. The beds were all comfortable. The linens were excellent, thick towels and soft sheets. It was a little cooler than expected on our weekend stay so we used the baseboard heat a few nights without issue. We also felt the house was exceptionally clean. My children enjoyed playing with the toys and wide open space in the basement. We thought it was really great that the house had so many toys for kids and adults (my father enjoyed the pool table!). We cooked dinner one night on the nice gas grill out on the porch. The porch was beautiful as well. We really appreciated the piece of lattice that we could hang across the stairs so that we didn't have to worry about the kids getting off the porch, genius! The outdoors space was great too, a side yard and fire pit, plenty of parking, and a beautiful lakefront area. A surprise bonus was the closet off the master bathroom which was more than large enough for our son in his pack and play. He's used to sleeping in his own room now so we were nervous about having him sleep in our room. When we saw the large, clean master closet thought it was perfect for a bonus space for the baby. There was a pack and play and baby seat at the house already, though we used our own since we brought them. We would stay here again and also recommend this house to friends or family! A great property.

Family gathering
We wish we could have spent more time at the lake and on the property. We had graduation events to attend. The lack of decent wi go was frustrating because 3 of the family were still working and unable to connect. Owner Sharon was so kind and accommodating it could not have been better

Beautiful home. Bigger than it looks
the owner was very friendly and helpful. Walking into the house, it was so beautiful and clean. The pool table was nice to have and we had more than enough room to move around and not be on top of each other. The house is stocked with things I did not expect. Cleaning supplies. Hand soap. Towels. The house is about 100 feet from the lake and the views are so beautiful!!! I would definitely stay here again.
