About this house rental
Relax and enjoy the lake, swim off the boat dock, and even keep your personal boat tied off in the slip. Sink into the bubbling warmth of our hot tub while enjoying the view. The house is next to Smith Lake Park, so a boat ramp is easily accessible. You will have everything to enjoy a peaceful time on the lake from fully appointed kitchen to high speed fiber internet. Enjoy fishing from the floating dock, sit by the fire pit, or relax and watch the sunset. Tankless water heater for big groups!
THE SPACE:
With room to comfortably sleep 12 guests, our large and welcoming home is the perfect place to host your family, friends, or group retreat. Each cozy bedroom is designed for relaxation, and the open living areas create an atmosphere of togetherness. You can expect all the creature comforts you desire, and then some.
There is a bedroom and full bath down stairs as well as the kitchen and main living room.
Upstairs there are an additional 3 bedrooms, an extra living room, and two more bathrooms. One of the bedrooms upstairs has a balcony with a glider that overlooks the water. The living room downstairs has windows across the back of the house that over look the water. There is an attached deck off the main level that over looks the water and has an easy to access pellet / propane grill.
Outside, the lower level is a fenced patio with string and step lighting and a 6 person hot tub underneath the upper deck.
The front and back yard are fenced and can give peace of mind for kids and pets.
At night, gather around the fire pit under the starry sky for s'mores, stories, and unforgettable moments.
GUEST ACCESS:
There is plenty of parking for several cars in the main driveway including a car port. There is also a 2 car attached garage (no garage door opener / manual doors).
There is a fenced in yard with access to the road that would allow for a boat trailer to be kept during your visit.
We also added 3 kayaks that guests can rent for the duration of their stay for $100 flat fee for all 3 (Just request after booking if interested).
OTHER THINGS TO NOTE:
The house is so close to the water. There is a slanted sidewalk and 10 stair steps to the boat dock from the house.
There are a lot of houses on Smith lake without close ramp access and without cable internet. This property has both. We are just across the lake from a marina that sells gas. This makes keeping the boat filled with gas easy and convenient.
We also provide two sets of high capacity front load washers and dryers. This will without a doubt meet any big groups laundry needs!
There is also an extra large refrigerator in the garage to allow for food storage for large groups.
The boatlift is also available for guests if it fits your boat (configured for a pontoon). Otherwise, just lower it out of the way and tie off.
GFCI Power plugs are available on the front of the house by the driveway and on the dock to allow for easy charging of boat batteries no matter where your boat is.
In the summer, you will have 1/2 mile of water view solid to the other shore. In the winter, when the water levels have dropped >10ft, there is still year round water but there is a sand bar island that appears in the middle and the water wraps around it.
Also just switched Internet to fiber internet.
We added a pellet / propane grill. We provide the propane. Bring your own pellets.
We have installed a Level 2 EV Charger. It is a J1772 connector (non Tesla) and charges at 48A.
If you have an adapter, you can charge a Tesla.

Our stay was perfect. This house was perfect for our party of 8 to celebrate my mom’s 60th birthday. Beautiful lake front view. Easy access down to the water. Lots of outdoor seating to enjoy the views. Fenced in yard for my pup. Grill, full kitchen. Everything was perfect. The hosts were so helpful & friendly. I will definitely be staying here again.

The inside of the house was immaculate and comfortable. Well-equipped kitchen, plenty of linens, paper towels and tissue, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, laundry and dishwasher pods. We packed more than we needed to. This is one of the best equipped properties we have stayed in. The view from the deck was amazing. A beautiful heron entertained us from the dock for most of our stay. We hope to return in the fall. Thank you for sharing this beautiful lake home.

Our friends and us were impressed with the vacation house I selected. It was much larger than I was expecting.
We were a little disappointed that the grill didn't work well, had to cook hot dogs on the stove. Chlorine levels in the hot tub were way too high causing me to have a severe allergic reaction.Tub really needs to me emptied and scrubbed out.

The home is spacious and comfortable! We had three generations… 6 adults and 5 kids. We all had our private space as well as lots of space for cousin fun. The kitchen is well stocked with everything needed. We enjoyed the hot tub every day, and had a fire the last night before we had to leave. The dock was perfect for fishing, and we went boating, tubing, and knee boarding each day. We have a pickle-ball enthusiast, so the garage became our pickle ball court. The upstairs den was great for movies for the kids. We walked to the park each day and the preschooler enjoyed the playground. The others had a family football game on the grassy fields. Just what we needed!! The house was perfect!!

Memories were made! This clean, spacious, secluded, cozy house was perfect for our bachelor party of 7, plus my dog. Everyone had a great time and felt right at home. The house was fully furnished with tons of comfortable seating, bedding and lounging and was well equipped with plenty of bath/beach towels, shampoo, body wash, smart TVs and wifi. Finding a house with a fenced in yard is rare for Smith Lake so that was HUGE plus for me and my dog. And if you like to fire up the grill after a long day on the lake and relax in a nice hot tub at night, look no further!
Everything about this place was absolutely perfect, even the location. There are many places to stay on the lake but if you want to be a little closer to “civilization”, there is a dollar general, gas station, boat ramps and a restaurant all within five minutes. I highly recommend renting from “Cappy’s” boats if you don’t bring your own and eating at “Brothers” for lunch or dinner.
You can really tell Ben takes pride in his place and he was very accommodating with any questions I had. If was to ever go back, I wouldn’t book anywhere else. Five stars for everyone in our group!

This property was beautiful and well equipped for a family of 12. The grandkids got to sleep in their very own area which was a major hit! We loved the easy access to the dock, that we could swim off the dock and that we could pull the boat we rented into the dock. The owners were so easy to work with. Very accomodating, quick to respond and even made some great suggestions for our trip. We definetely plan our making our way back here again. Beautiful home and beautiful lake! Thanks for everything!

This is a great place for families! I really loved how the house was stocked with plenty of plates and everything you needed for the kitchen. A huge plus was the gates they had inside which we used to keep our baby safe! We will definitely be visiting again in the future!

The eight of is stayed comfortably in this home, no complications. Excellent views, water access, gathering areas. We were not an easy bunch to please but the owners were so accommodating in every way! Thank you for memories.

We had a wonderful stay!! We came up for a tournament, but ended up getting sick and I couldn't think of a better place to be stuck inside. The view was spectacular, with three mallard ducks who visited every morning. The covered dock was very convenient whereas we were able to park the boat and get on the water when we could within a few minutes (and get off when we got tired).
The host Ben was really flexible and understanding. We were able to delay our arrival due to us feeling ill and adding the time lost to the end of the trip. He was accommodating.
We will definitely stay there again and recommend to friends!!!

We enjoyed our stay, the house was very nice and such a beautiful view! We chose this location for our family Christmas get together to be able to visit with our grandson and his wife before he is deployed in March. Much to our surprise another grandson and his wife who are doctors in Rome. GA were able to join us for our Christmas evening meal before having to head back. This gave us the opportunity to visit, eat and play games and have a great family time. All in all we have a wonderful stay and also appreciate your kindness considering the long drive some of us had that you let us have access to the hose before the 4:00pm check in time. : )"

We booked this house for a family getaway. We met my sisters and their families here. The house was plenty spacious. We loved tubing, fishing, watching the water . The house was exactly as described. It was Soooo clean!! The kitchen was very well stocked. It was like being in my own kitchen. The owners were so easy to deal with and communication with them was great!! The boat ramp was really close. My husband could easily unload and load his boat with out having to drive miles to do so.
We all are looking forward to meeting up and staying here again soon.

AMAZING
Our family of 4 and a few friends stayed here for the week of the 4th. We enjoyed everything about the place, the lodging, amenities, location, you name it. The house was clean and well organized. Easy walk to the dock with plenty of room to hang out by the water. We could see the Smith Lake Park fireworks from the dock. 15 minutes to Cullman, walk to Smith Lake Park, take your boat across the creek to the marina. Thank you for a great experience!

Best Time Ever!!!
We’ve been vacationing as a family for 38 years (since our boys were little), and always stay at an ocean front house in SC or FL. We decided to try something different this summer and rented this lake house…it was the best decision ever!!! Everyone LOVED it!!! The house was immaculate and the best equipped I’ve seen of all the VRBOs at which we’ve stayed. No matter what you want to prepare in the kitchen, you’re set: knives, cooking pans, blender, pots and pans. It’s all in new or almost new shape. Dual coffeemaker. Plenty of space for a large family to eat together or play games. The beds were comfortable and there were lots of pillows and blankets. Thankfully, there were very few steps to the dock. (Smith Lake is clean and gorgeous, but many of the houses have prohibitively long stairs to get to water. The dock had plenty of room for our ski boat and jet ski. If you enjoy water sports, this house is ideal! My husband pulled grandkids kneeboarding every day from 9 am to 5 pm. (Note: there’s a small marina right across the lake to get boat gas). You wouldn’t have to have a boat though to enjoy this house, there’s plenty of room on the dock for sunning and jumping off, as well as a ladder so you can climb back up easily. The grands all enjoyed the hot tub (just be sure to make note of house rules to keep it clean for everyone). Probably my favorite part of the house was the porches, upper and lower, for enjoying the peaceful view while having my morning coffee, reading or talking with family. One more huge plus: the owners could not have been nicer and were always quick to respond to any questions we had both before and during our stay. All in all, a 5 star stay. We made so many fun family memories at Makin’ Memories! We’ll be back!!!

The house was so pretty and clean! Having two washers and dryers was very nice. Spacious rooms and multiple areas for kids to hang out. Three full bathrooms was great. The boat dock isn’t far away or too many stairs like some I’ve seen. You need to know ahead of time, however, that you do not have access to the slip as pictured. Their boat is parked there so you have to park on the side and not covered. We were expecting to park our new boat under the awning out of the Weather so that was disappointing and felt misleading. Also the pet instructions are very restrictive and not fully relayed to you until you walk in the house. Most folks let their dog on the furniture or beds but here they aren’t and not even allowed upstairs. Our friends that were coming with their small dog just opted to only send half of their family to visit bc of strict dog rules. They should probably just say no pets. All in all was a great stay though.
