About this house rental
Beachfront Melody is located directly on the beachfront. Private beach, no public access, no cars allowed in front of the house. Nothing but sand and a walk over to the edge of the water. Guests will enjoy one of three decks at this home - all of which have unobstructed views of the Gulf of Mexico - watch as the sun rises in the East while you sip a nice cup of morning coffee and watch as the shrimp boats pull out past the 2nd sandbar for the daily catch. This large multi-story home is located on the west end of Galveston Island in Half Moon Beach.
The large, open concept living/dining/kitchen area has been recently updated with all fresh paint, crown molding and some new furnishings. The kitchen area is very well appointed with a large refrigerator, dishwasher, oven, microwave and every cooking utensil imaginable, pots, pans, Nespresso coffee maker, Keurig, air fryer, griddle, waffle machine, rice cooker, ice maker, and wine fridge. The living area has a large seating area, 48"""" Smart TV with a digital antenna. Every bedroom in this house has its own television!
Sleeping arrangements are as follows: Primary (master) bedroom is located upstairs has a king-size bed, TV, en suite bath with a separated jetted tub, shower, towel warmer, and a private balcony (room sleeps 2). The second bedroom on the main level has a king bed, TV, has a semi en suite bath with a tub/shower combo (room sleeps 2). The third bedroom has two twin bunk beds, a Queen size bed, TV (room sleeps 6.) The 3rd-floor loft sleeping area is counted as the 4th bedroom and offers two twin over full bunks, TV (room sleeps 6).
Please bring Nespresso or Keurig pods for your stay.

Half Moon Beach is located on Galveston's West End, on the beachside, about 19 miles from town, between West of Sea Isle and East of Pointe West.

This vacation home should accommodate up to 4 vehicles to be parked at the property. Carpooling is highly recommended. Vehicles should be parked in the driveway or designated parking space. At no time should any vehicle be parked on lawns, yards or dune. Many HOAs do not allow parking for trailers, RVs, boats, etc. Please contact Ryson with any questions.
Even if listed as a provided amenities, Ryson is unable to guarantee specific cable package, network or channels or cable and internet signal quality and cable may not be available on all TVs. Oftentimes additional TVs are available for guests wanting to hook up their own game systems or streaming devices.
All reservations require a completed Ryson Rental Agreement, and the agreement holder must be at least 25 years of age to rent this property and provide a valid ID at check-in. Check-in time is 4 pm and check-out time is at 10 am.
EXTENDED STAYS
Monthly rentals are considered in the off-season - Winter Texans, snowbirds, retirees, corporate stays, medical professionals, university students and plant workers are welcome. Extended stays or monthly rentals require a stay of 30+ nights, and these reservations are tax exempt. This is an immediate savings of 15%! Although most extended stay reservations are between the middle of November through February, extended stays may be considered anytime between Labor Day and Memorial Day. Extended stay reservations may not be placed online, but a Ryson Vacation Planner would love to answer any questions you may have and help you reserve your extended stay.

We had an amazing time and the location was perfect! It was a little warm in the common area/kitchen area and the AC had a hard time cooling this floor. Awesome stay!

Perfect house for all the kids and grandkids. Great kitchen and open living so all could be together. Comfy deck furniture up and down. Easy access to beach. Beautiful clean beach and no car traffic.

When we arrived, the code provided didn't work to open the door, and I had to call and wait on hold to receive a new code. The communication was not great, the only response we ever got to things like broken dryer and water/ice maker was an automated message saying the issue had been forwarded to the appropriate person.
* Garage door openers provided but not working. Would have been nice to easily park a car or two under home.
* Second floor outside light off balcony hanging by its electric wires
* Would be nice to make the TV system in the main room much easier to manage...shouldn't need 4-5 remotes provided.
* Provide a product or instructions on getting tar off feet and out of house (we understand tar is not always a problem, but this summer it was REALLY bad)
* Countertop icemaker stopped working then started...might provide some instructions
* Water on fridge door quit functioning
* Dryer not working/drying
* A longer walk-over to beach would be very nice, the current walkover only goes halfway, then you have to go over another dune with hot sand...long walk dragging beach stuff
All that being said, the house was a good fit for our family and well stocked.

The only door in the house that is easy to open is the front door. The one least used. All sliding doors and the garage doors take major effort to move. Its a short walk to the beach but at the a low spot there are 2 pallets and both are starting to break. I believe there is a septic system problem and the area by the shower smells horrible.

Impeccably furnished and clean property with private access to beach. Was a very relaxing time for our family. Particularly enjoyed the 3 Beach front patios with comfortable outdoor furniture, enclosed shower station and water hose on beach level for rinse off. Owner very responsive and accommodating of any questions we had. Couldn’t get any better than this!

Fun Family Vacation
The property location is excellent. Short walk to the beach. Kitchen adequately equipped. Family room, kitchen, and dining room area are spacious. Bedrooms are good and bathrooms are good. One thing: we left our tents and beach equipment on the beach overnight. Galveston has an ordinance that you cannot leave things on the beach and the city picked up our tents and put them in their dumpster. So, we lost 3 tents and beach equipment and toys. Take you stuff in every night. This is a great place for family fun! Thank you for our memorable stay. We hope to join you again next year!

This house is perfect in every way. Gorgeous views, spotless and equipped with everything you could need.

Problems, Problems and more problems.
House has a great layout but the care/maintenance for this house isn't done very good. No hot water, then lukewarm water then no hot water again. Dryer didn't work and hadn't been cleaned out in months(maybe years). Left a very long review on the link that Ryson sent me.

Spacious & Scenic!
Comfy, tidy and scenic beach house. Lovely deck for day-long relaxation and180 degree view of the beach. Private beach access is great! Really awesome sleeping arrangements, ideal for 2 small families or large group of friends. Only niggle was the excessive mosquitoes on the ground level beneath the house - pest control advised!

Had such a great time!
We all absolutely enjoyed the stay. There was more than enough room for our entire party of 13. The stairs however kicked all out behinds by the end of the stay. But other than that we arrived to a very clean house. There were several sitting areas out side we utilized when it rained. We will be renting again!

Frustrating
Arrived on Thursday. Thursday night we discovered the Clothes Washer did not work. It was VERY difficult to get a solid answer or time frame when someone would come by to fix it. I have over 15 Phone calls Logged with names to this issue. Someone came on SATURDAY and said it would not be fixed till Monday, the day we left. So no Washing Machine the whole stay. They were supposed to deliver towels for Friday and Saturday and only delivered enough for one day and never showed up for the second delivery.
The 3rd and 4th Floor Balcony Doors were unlocked when we arrived and were not able to be locked. VERY dangerous with small children.
The Sliding Glass Door that went out on bottom balcony would barely open for the strongest person in the house.
The walkway out to the Beach was Grossly misrepresented by Camera angle. The walkway from our house had 2 to 3 feet of water with a slimy peice of Board floating in it and several falls occurred before we finally started using our neighbor's walkway.
We have been using VRBO so long I can not remember how long because a different family makes arrangements each year. This by FAR has made us all rethink the service and will not choose the Name Brand Homes, I think it was Tylson, ever again and will stay with Individual owners. Overall the Home was Beautiful and was stocked as stated on Website. The AC was great. And there was Ample relaxing furniture. Vehicle parking was understated and because of that we could have fit a Fourth Vehicle and not had someone drive a late arrival to the house and drop them off. I even called, explaining our predicament and was assured that the vehicle would not fit. But it would have. Great Parking Space. The kids never knew of the glitches and had a FANTASTIC Stay but the Parents had way too many obstacles for what should have been a relaxing stay. Overall it was stressful for Adults but we managed with.Positive Attitudes by choice.
The decision to use the service will be made very cautiously in the future.

Beautiful beach front stay
This is a fabulous beach front rental on the far west end of Galveston island. The new owners have improved on an already wonderfully accommodating home with new very comfortable outdoor deck furniture. The expansive beach is just a few steps away, and the views and the sounds of surf are mesmerizing. This was our second stay here this year, and we love it so much we're staying a third time soon!

Beautiful beach front stay
This is a wonderful place to stay on Galveston's west end. It's about 18 miles from 61st St., so it is peaceful, with a wide and nearly vacant beach that stretches for miles in both directions. We loved it so much we have booked additional stays in Feb & Apr 2021!

Awesome private beach
Overall this was a great property. We loved how private the beach was and how close it was to the property. The space for two families was great the dual masters and plenty of bunk space for the kids was really great. The kitchen was well stocked for making meals at home which was also great. There are a few things that would have been good to know before hand. Example: use the pots they supply ours didn't work on the stove and they have a regular coffee pot. Also there are no curtains on any of the windows on the back of the house (besides the master had white paper ones) the view is AMAZING but when you stay up really late catching up with old friends the sun rising and shining in your face can be a bit intense. So if you need dark to sleep, bring eye pillows. The only things I can say that is negative about the property was the slider to the back is REALLY hard to slide. My youngest could not open/close it all the way by himself. (could be either a bad thing or a good thing) And the mosquitoes were also a bit intense. (not the houses fault but there was a lot of standing water around out front by the road) Next time I will start taking garlic before I go so I wont have issues. But that said I would still book this house again in a heartbeat!

Amazing beachfront stay
We enjoyed watching the sunrise over the ocean every morning. The beach felt as if it was all ours as there was not many people around, just our neighbors who we got along with great. We enjoyed a little bit of surf fishing and a lot of sun soaking. The house has a great family room and a big kitchen. There’s a convenience store very near, so there was no need to leave the area at all. We will definitely be coming back - hopefully sooner rather than later.

Excellent location on the beach, well-equipped kitchen, premium bedding, 2 master bedrooms is good layout for 2 families, efficient check in/out with digital lock, garage doors are nice security feature, dog appreciated fenced grass yard & extra large bed in family room was nice surprise.
