About this cottage rental
Glamping on a small private island with panoramic views of the turquoise waters of the Atlantic Ocean and your own sandy beach (a rarity in the Keys) is a special experience for fishermen, bird watchers, and nature lovers.
Glamping means different things to different people – from a nice tent in the woods with a shared bathroom to a an canvas palace in Africa. Our Floridian definition is a whitewashed cabin perched on a high platform with some pink, blue or green accents, an outdoor shower, and a couple of simple private indoor bathrooms and a basic kitchen. Being Florida, we of course need air conditioning. But what sets us apart is the location in the uncrowded middle Keys, the nature, and yes… that turquoise water in every direction.
Our island is a unique paradise, surrounded by swimmable ocean, fishing spots, and a nature walk along our peninsula that juts out further into the ocean and leads to a dolphin pool (former home to Flipper!) Our island is separated from the Overseas Highway by a private causeway, offering an exclusive experience. We have kayaks and paddle boards for you to explore the calm reef-protected waters surrounding the island. You will also have a fresh-water swimming pool, a boat basin, and a boat launch.
Our Little Conch Island is not just a secluded paradise, but also conveniently located. It's a short distance from the Marathon Airport, the Dolphin Research Center, a water skiing facility, and the numerous restaurants, grocery stores, and gift shops between Marathon and Islamorada. A bike path is just over our causeway, the 7-mile Bridge is 20 minutes away, and Key West is just over an hour away.
The Florida Keys is a magical place with some of the best fishing, boating, and reef diving anywhere in the world. The glamping cabins of Little Conch Key are the perfect place from which to explore – being near everything you would want, yet a world away.
Our property is a beautiful destination and professionally managed by Casa Luxora. This ensures that your stay will be smooth and enjoyable, allowing you to focus on the beauty and tranquility of our island, and the surrounding waters and nature.

The owner is such a kind person but he is being taken advantage of by those he’s hired to clean, manage his property. We washed everything dish we used. There was mold in the showers and on the shower curtains which were black on the bottom edge. The shower head didn’t work and there was not enough pressure to shower. It was filthy inside and out. The pool was overgrown with algae (a deep bright green), only the birds were using the pool. The beach was left unattended which resulted in way too many flies, mosquitoes, and bees on property. The toilet in guest bathroom truly is tilted on it’s side making it nearly impossible for anyone to sit comfortably and unsafe for my mom. The patio/deck was in dire need of attention with splintered decking in need of painting and many missing balusters creating a safety hazard. The remaining balusters were loose and the overall deck shakey, unsafe. All outside chairs were old and shredded. We used our beach chairs for the brief time we sat outside. After realising that the owner would not be able to get the property to a place where we would feel comfortable, we left after 2 days. This move costs us double what we had planned to spend but we simply could not stay in this rental. The owner refunded us for the unused nights but not for the 2 nights we stayed in this terrible rental or booking fees, cleaning fees, etc. I felt is was mostly fair but the full refund would have been the right decision. Never again

Location is beyond fantastic, owner and process was also fantastic and no issues at all. The house has not been renovated and is very basic and old for what is charged. We had a great stay and the kayaks were a great touch.

The location is good but the quaint cottage is in desperate need of an overhaul. When you pull up it looks good from a distance but once you get right up to it all flaws start showing. The deck was dangerous, the rails were loose and falling apart the paint is flaking off all over. Large wood splinters were stick up as much as an inch and a half causing not only a trip hazard but getting large slivers. Inside the kitchen which is right out of the 80’s the ceiling was textured and many places the texture was falling off, around almost every vent in the house there were water and mildew stains. The whole inside of the house looks like it was painted by someone who just didn’t give a crap what it looked like. The private pool is shared by three cottages, but none of us got to use it because it was not clean you couldn’t see thee bottom in 3 foot deep water. The owner after being told of the condition of the pool had a pool guy come but the pool was not swim able until after our stay. The owner did apologize for the pool and refunded $200 but neglected to show much concern about the other problems. The bathroom toilet in one of the bathrooms was tilted to the right so far that you felt like you would fall off. Many lightbulbs were out and the light fixtures were full of bugs. The doors from the main bedroom out to the balcony did not seal at all and bugs and mosquitoes could fly in and out all the time. The central air conditioning was very loud when it kicked on.Overall very bad

Location of this condo was great. We stayed for 2 weeks. Unfortunately, we found the unit to be in need of some major repair. In all of the VRBO’s, timeshares that we have stayed in over the years, this place was in the worst shape. The railings on the deck were loose, balusters were not all attached. Possible hazard if someone were to lean on them. Not safe for children, especially. Very concerning. Condo had not been cleaned well. Dirty master bathroom (dirty shower curtain, fuzz on light fixture, patio french door had steaks all over it) Bathroom exhaust fan did not work. Second bathroom toilet didn’t flush out well. Toilet was tipped. Only 2 burners on stove worked. Very dated appliances in rough shape. Refrigerator froze some of our food. Broken control to adjust temperature. Lacking in kitchen essentials. Grubby pots and pans. Missing switch/outlet plates in second bedroom. Paint splatters on floors, fixtures. Grounds were not kept well. Beach area was messy. Garbage cans were supposed to be picked up every 2 days. A week went by, garbage smelled and animals tipped it over and scattered garbage several times. Laundry shed had rodent debris all over the floor and appliances. This property has potential to be great with some work. Pictures of the past of this property looked great. It’s a shame that it hasn’t been maintained better. So much potential.

We never expect perfect, but I think that people need to know that all of the pictures in the ad for this place are years outdated. Reality is that the place is not anything close to the pictures. The cottages are not maintained, old furniture, and just barely clean. Toilets have to be plunged every use, (and toilet is on a 45 degree angle so be careful) bring your own toilet paper as you get only half a roll. The kayaks ALL have cracks and holes, don’t plan on using those as they fill up with water quickly. Power is turned off to washer and dryers, not turned on between 4 and 11 in a rustic shed.Trash is NOT picked up at all. Numerous appliance and electrical issues. Dishwashers do not work properly. Dilapidated deck, unsafe railing. Most of the outdoor chairs are falling apart.

I was disappointed that the grounds, pool and inside were not cleaned as they said it would be after each visit. There was mice poop in the cupboards, dead mice in the pool, garbage over flowing and all in the bushes of the property. Electrical outlets didn't work, toilets didn't flush. Even other renters were fixing things at their costs. Even the welcome mat was garbage. Dollar store items could fix some of these issues. Lawn furniture rusted and can cause health issue if you are cut by it. Grate in BBQ rusted and is a health hazard. The location was great. Fishing was great and the beds were comfy!

We rented all three of these cottages for a family weekend. We had our own private beach and pool, but really, it felt as if we had our own private island. The cottage is authentic, unpretentious old Florida — just what we wanted and needed for our extended family. It was also clean and comfortable. Everyone enjoyed both the accommodations and the location.

We enjoyed this property as we celebrated the wedding of a family member. It was perfect for the even that we were trying to create. Convenient to Marathon, yet far enough away to be secluded. Perfect.

This is the second time for our family on the island. We absolutely love it. Antonio made sure our stay was great, thank you! I caught two nurse sharks, saw a Morley eel, and sea turtles right off the dock! The beach is fantastic and a rarity in The Keys. We will be back!

This location was fantastic. However, the property was an absolute dumb. I would never suggest anybody staying here ever in fact, we try to find a hotel that we could switch to, but there was nothing available. Everything was dirty dead cockroaches on the floors the bedding was old and stained, the towels were old and stained. I have a property in Marco Island that we rent out by the week in Marco Island and had a left it in this type of disarray. My renters would have just left and demand their money back. Honestly the owner of this property should be ashamed of themselves.

The place was very private, perfect for our choice. Really enjoyed the nights as well. Beach nice but we we could not swim there, ground very soft in the water. Kayaks were great. Our cottage was in need of general maintenance, I worked construction and modernization good bit of my career probably notice how things are done a bit more. I'm sure the storms take there toll. Boat ramp area really nice, could easily see variety of fish. Could swim there if wanted to. Wish we have had some more time here for sure, we stayed at 3 locations in 8 days while in the keys. This was our favorite, none were bad though. Great time would recommend.

Outstanding on the beach location. Close to parks and restaurants. Evening star viewing was outstanding. A must. Great time had by all

Private beach, only 2 other cottages (occupants were quiet while we were there), a pool right next to the cottage, kayaks, and a short drive to Marathon and Islamorada.
The water is so clear that you can see all kinds of sea creatures (baby shark, jellyfish, fish, coral, sponges)-all kayaking with no one else around. We also saw eagles in a nest on a nearby island.
The owner was around the property working on things so we were able to meet him. Very nice and responded to questions in person and by text. We had an issue and he responded right away.
The owner recently purchased this part of the island and is working to improve the cottages. There was a fresher coat of paint in our cottage than what a person reviewed prior to our stay.
For this location and the time of year that we went (January) there is no question that it is a great value considering the location, amenities, and opportunities available to enjoy the outdoors. There is also a large boat dock and an area to grill by it that is available without an additional charge.

Great spot. We brought our own Kayaks and had a blast.

The Keys, sharks, rays, and manatees.
This is a very small island with 5 buildings on it. Private beach, private boat slip, and lots of water. The water here is shallow for a long ways, but the bottom is actually soft mud. But... we used the paddle board and the kayaks several times a day. We saw baby bonet head sharks, baby nurse sharks, rays, octopus, and tons of wildlife. When the tide goes out it is extremely shallow and you can get very close. We even paddled right up to a 5' shark (don't worry... they are harmless). Iguanas and lizards kept the kids entertained for hours when they tired of the perfect waters. Very relaxing, even if a bit rustic. Bug spray is a must at night to sit out, and sun block is a must in the day to sit out and enjoy the views. The owners were amazing to work with and took care of any requests we had. It wasn't the ritz, but who comes to the keys for that?! We came to BBQ fresh Mahi and fresh Tuna right off the boat, sun bathe, and be left alone. Short drive to everything you'd want.

Very clean but a little run down.
You couldn’t use the pool, the water was green. The floor around toilet was deteriorated and the toilet was sinking on one side. The deck also was splintery. Not good for bare feet. Good location and clean but house really needs some maintenance.

Amazing location and views!!
Beautiful beach, location and amenities. The host was very responsive and a pleasure to deal with. They have just recently purchased and took over this property and it's truly a hidden gem!!

Great location- run down place
There were no reviews when I booked this. I agree with the first review and will share more. The location is just lovely but that’s where it ends.
The exterior of the unit is dangerous with popped up boards, rust, and missing railings. The grounds keeper was actually patching the railings while we were there. The deck furniture is rusted or broken. When you park under the cottage you will notice the large hole in the units flooring above you with the pipes and insulation exposed. This is because the flooring inside the unit is sagging and caving in! The French doors are all rusted and don’t close properly. The toilet is crooked due to flooring issues. There are barely any cooking items and very few utensils. The wi fi is very spotty if you are depending on it to work from there. The appliances are rusted. There is a hole in the bathroom wall. The pool is as murky and didn’t appear to have a working filter. We stay in multiple VRBO’s a year and I have to say, this was rough. Beautiful location but place needs a lot of work.

Hidden Gem
Very private location. We had all the Florida keys amenities from the steps of the cottage : beach, boat ramp, beautiful sunset, kayaks, paddle board, nice swimming area near the boat ramp etc.; without tourists or crowds. Felt like we rented the whole island to ourselves. There was a laundry available, what was not mentioned in the cottage description: a convenient surprise. Cottage was very clean and had all necessities for a comfortable stay.

First visit disappointed
It looked good on arriving, but the structure needs a lot of work. Deck and railing a little scary. Inside furnishings are cheap and worn. One chair and a sofa so for two couples is a bad plan! Wi-Fi no good and tv sound is terrible. Very overrated and overpriced!
