We had a wonderful stay at Orchard Cottage. Claudia is an excellent host - friendly, knowledgeable about the local area, and she provides an amazing breakfast! We loved having our own sitting room, and the bedroom was very comfortable. The cottage is very well located for exploring the surrounding area. We would certainly recommend and book again ourselves.

We loved the vibe of the cottage. Lovely orginal features for a wonderful vintage feel. The bed was very comfortable and the breakfast was delicious. Plus the spaniel pupper is so cute! The host is a lovely friendly person and we felt right at home straight away. She even offered to light the fire for us. We'll definatley be back.

Claudia was the best kind of host - friendly, informative, jolly - and an excellent cook!
Would have preferred a shower.

Beautiful cottage with the most amazing hostess. Very warm welcome, very cosy accommodation, beautiful village, exemplary hostess with experienced local knowledge and recommendations . Fantastic breakfast. I could keep going on. Grade A, fabulous!! Unfortunately for the owner/ hostess, we will be returning ;)

We loved Claudia who owns Orchard Cottage! What a fantastic host. We stayed for a local wedding and popped too and fro during the event, with Claudia letting us use the rooms like home. We hugely appreciated this flexibility. The beds were great too!

Friendliness of host and her dog! Excellent breakfast.

The breakfast options was so varied - everything was locally sourced and in season too. Claudia made her own fruit compote to go with my yoghurt and it was delicious!
I really enjoyed the kitchen/dining space, was so open and had a communal feel to chat and chill.
Claudia's dog, Pepper, was so well behaved and was a joy to have around.
Claudia was also extremely accommodating with a late check out as we were in the area for a wedding.
We were aware of the shower situation and managed to cope. If you're a fan of baths, Claudia has plenty of salts and other supplies at the ready.

Claudia was a fantastic and hospitable host. She made us feel incredibly welcome, and we would love to stay again. The cottage was beautiful, and in a great location which was perfect for our needs. The breakfast was delicious too, no faults.

Our stay at Orchard Cottage was absolutely lovely, located in the quaintest little village of Grewelthorpe. It's in an ideal location to visit tons of toursity attractions. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and we were walking around like we owned the place by the time we left! Claudia is a marvellous host and would have bent over backwards for us. She's a lovely lady and we thoroughly enjoyed sitting and putting the world to rights over breakkie! We will be sure to be back soon!

This cosy cottage was everything we hoped it would be. Claudia our host was delightful & could not have been more helpful & considerate. The full english breakfast was outstanding. The peaceful village location suited us perfectly & was in close proximity to other larger towns.

I keep reminiscing since we got home, and it feels like we've been in a lovely little dream for the weekend, country cottage ambience at its best! Thanks to Claudia for the great hospitality and good conversation, and Pepper for cute cuddles! Sun shining sat in the garden - unique, step back in time features set in a tranquil village, amazing calming soak in the bath.... delicious breakfast & toast !! Relaxed & recharged xx

Breakfast was excellent with good choices and locally sourced food items .
Very comfortable bed and super free standing bath
My dog was welcomed which was a big plus .
Wi Fi address could have been added to the information pack in the room which was very comprehensive in other ways.
Also breakfast menu available if staying more than one night so able to select choices the evening prior .

What a superb host Claudia is. She is a warm and very welcoming lady. Nothing is too much of a problem for her. I felt very well looked after and really enjoyed our chats during my stay. Like a friend. Fantastic cook. breakfast was outstanding original and delicious! All homemade and carefully prepared.
Fantastic location to go and explore the area. There some pretty amazing places to visit if you like nature and countryside. Even if you don’t want to drive, there is a beautiful woodland behind the B&B in which you can walk for hours. There is a good selection with in a short drive.
I loved having a bath. Warm and cosy in the B&B.

Claudia was a very welcoming, knowledgeable host and made our stay the relaxing time we were hoping for.
Lovely looking cottage with lots of character.
Well furnished bedroom with ample storage for our needs.
Bed was really comfortable.
Great breakfasts with lots of choice. Nothing was too much trouble.
A shower would have been nice but the bath and provisions made up for it.

Location excellent, in a very interesting area with lots to do, which I hope to explore when I return in the future. Claudia is very welcoming and able to be helpful in all respects. House, room and facilities all carefully planned and provided to suit guests, particularly in a snow storm !

Claudia is a wonderful, warm and welcoming host and Orchard Cottage has an enchanting character and air of comfort and relaxation. I will most definitely be back!
4.7
Claudia the host was lovely, so welcoming and friendly going way beyond expectations when she offered us dinner on our first night.
The location was excellent for or needs, close enough to Ripon, but equally out in the beautiful Yorkshire countryside. The full English breakfast each day was superb, more than we expected but locally sourced ingredients were delicious.
Parking can be a little bit of an issue, as the village is small and most parking is on road.
A shower instead of a bath, but there were reasons given why it wasn't available during our stay.
4.7
Beautiful cottage in a lovely quiet Yorkshire village setting. Claudia is an amazing host and nothing was too much trouble. Be warned though you may not escape until you have given Pepper the resident guard dog enough tummy rubs!
Would have liked shower facilities, although the claw footed bath is awesome. Be advised it is a "quiet" village and due to current financial climate the local pub is operating reduced opening hours/days so you may have to trek a few miles for evening meals. Ripon is about 15 mins drive away and has several options though so not a big deal.

Breakfast choices were great. The method of collecting our choice needed updating. For instance the form seemed to assume we would both want to eat the same thing. Claudia was a fount of knowledge on the locality.
Not having a working shower. Difficult to find places to eat nearby on Mondays and Tuesdays.

good breakfast, very welcoming, comfortable bed, nice village location

I had the best weekend. I was staying for pleasure, an orchestral weekend, but also needed to do some work in the mornings. Nothing was too much trouble, the host even lent me a small table so I was comfortable doing my work.
Super friendly. Amazing breakfast! The biggest hottest bath ever! Amazing setting, very close to Ripon.
