Very clean. Spacious house. Everything inside was well kept. Check-in was easy. Hot tub could have used a little attention as it did not appear super clean and was a little difficult to operate. Apparently someone decided to re-stain the deck just before our arrival. Not a good call. The deck was still sticky, only partially finished, and all the deck furniture was moved to the side porch, meaning we had to move any furniture we wanted to use to enjoy the view. The view and remote location are the reasons we chose this cabin and they made up for any shortcomings. Would definitely stay here again.

Comfortable, cozy cabin. We all enjoyed the beautiful views and overall cleanliness of the property. The property was a very quiet and peaceful location to spend the Thanksgiving holiday.
Communication with property manager was excellent. We had a very minor maintenance issue that was resolved within an hour.
We were all very pleased with our stay

The property was very cozy, the jetted tub in the master bedroom bathroom was a big hit for our group. The early morning views over the mountains was beautiful. The three level design was great for everyone's privacy.

Beautiful Mountain Escape
Aspen Rose is all it's advertised and more. The property is absolutely beautiful. It was the perfect fit for our mini weekend getaway.

We travel frequently to the mountains and this cabin is one of our favorites. The cabin itself is spacious and well-designed, nicely-decorated, and comes with almost everything you could ask for. The amazing mountain view can be enjoyed both from inside the cabin, or out on the deck from the hot tub or small table. The gas fireplace with timer is a nice touch for winter stays. It feels remote in a good way, even with a couple other cabins nearby (which you can barely see), but is just a 15-minute drive to West Jefferson.

We rented this home for Saturday tubing on New River (we used RiverGirl tubing). The house was 30 mins from where we tubed which was not a bad drive at all. We spent Friday night walking around Downtown West Jefferson which was only a 15 min drive. We drove a Prius and made it up the gravel road in the summer time with no issues. The house was clean, beautiful and plenty of room for 8 guests.

Found a true hide away. We loved the peace and quiet. Evenings were spent silently watching the stars. Days spent watching the hummingbirds. (fill the feeders, it's worth it)
The house was well managed. We found almost everything we needed. And for what we forgot, there is a Walmart not far in town.

3 couples, friends for over 15 years have been traveling and visiting once a year. We like to choose a place in the Mtns or beach and this place was perfect bc we had our own separate quarters. View was amazing and close to everything. We had a challenge with something at the property and the manager was easily accessible and provided a solution immediately.

Wonderful getaway!
Beautiful view & very nice cabin. We love the area & West Jefferson was a charming town. Cabin was perfect for our 3 couples. Getting to the cabin is a little challenging, but that would not stop us from coming back. Alpen Rose was well stocked on everything that needed during our stay. Would definitely recommend if you need some time away from your hectic schedule.

Great Family Getaway!
The cabin was beautiful inside & the views outside were wonderful. We enjoyed the hot tub, the ping pong table & the fire pit. We had a great time on the creeper trail & the cascade waterfall trail. Our daughter's boyfriend surprised her & ask her to marry him! Fantastic memories. Some fire pit tools and maybe a crock pot for cooking during a cold visit would be fantastic.

Great Family Vacation!
Had a great couple days up on the mountain! As the reviews have all said.... definitely need a 4wd, truck, or SUV to access the cabin. The roads are steep and the gravel is worn into trenches. It didn’t snow, but rained during our stay and it was rough. Cabin is isolated and has all the necessary items to make for a wonderful stay. As long as you have your groceries you wouldn’t need to leave. We enjoyed the hot tub almost daily. We did have some issues with the heat. The loft area was always hot, middle floor was just right, but basement was hard to keep warm enough to be comfortable. We had to keep the heat up high to have it warm downstairs. Our other issue was the cabin needs some serious cleaning. We have to pay the cleaning fee I understand and I am sure this is done by a third party company. We happened to drop something under the bed and when we looked we were disgusted. We found glucose monitors, water bottles, trash and enough dust to prove it hasn’t been touched in a long time. We looked throughout and every room was the same. The carpets all had pet hair on them. The floors could use a good cleaning and a thorough dusting within the entire cabin. We aren’t OCD, but we have some standards that aren’t exceedingly high. I think the rental company isn’t getting their monies worth. We would come back again, but prefer to be a little cleaner.

Beautifully amazing! Quiet cozy and fun!
Alpen Rose is a treasure. This cabin is the perfect get away. My family is so grateful to have had the opportunity to enjoy this piece of heaven for Christmas. The cabin is very rustic, charming and intimate. The main level has everyone together with amazing views. The lower level is great for games and entertainment. Outside is just breath taking. Walking the mountain was very fun and exciting. The fire pit area allows families to bond and have a great time. I do believe that this cabin, its charm and seclusion allow for families and couples to recconect with out distraction. There are several little towns close by that are quaint. Some of the local towns have the best food shopping and brew. You will not be disappointed with this wonderful cabin. The Yanceys

Beautiful location!
Cabin is very clean and comfortable! Plenty of room for family (spacious bedrooms and ample deck). Lots of outdoor activity destinations nearby. Loved the hot tub after a day of hiking, kayaking and horseback riding. Some good places to eat nearby. Kitchen is appointed well enough to cook full meals. We had a very enjoyable stay!

Awesome Vacation!
The kitchen was very equipped and the beds/blankets were extremely comfortable. The game room and the X-Box were great as well! A great cabin that was roomy enough for the 7 of us. Overall great way to start off the new year! Also, the staff were very helpful in returning a lost item to us after we left!
