More than anything we loved the location. Also, the ACs crank so you won't be hot after walking up two big flights of stairs. The internet is good, the place is very clean and really nice that each bedroom had its own bathroom.
Some cons:
- Hot water ran out when everyone was trying to get ready at the same time.
- The washer and dryer are shared with another unit. It wasn't a problem for us but FYI incase you need to do a lot of laundry.
- The kitchen was small and it wasn't very well equipped. e.g. no cookie sheets, cheese grater, etc. It has the basics.
- There are two flights of stairs so pack light. Also, the street is very busy with no dedicated parking. We had to wait for town to die down before being able to park near the unit and unload our van.
- The master bedroom has light shades that don't block the light. At 3 AM the city lights make it seem like day time. Bring a night mask.
- Noise: We stayed Sunday - Thursday and didn't have any problem with noise.

This was a perfect fit for our group. Clean, fully stocked and beautifully decorated. Location was ideal. We were able to walk to dinner, shopping and gelato. What more could we ask for. Hope to come back again.

We were in town for a family wedding… Prefer VRBO’s over hotels… This was a perfect choice. There is a bedroom downstairs and two bedrooms upstairs all with own bathroom. Kitchen was well stocked. And Trader Joe’s is walkable for groceries. But if you didn’t want to cook there are restaurants EVERYWHERE with a great brunch place literally next door. Highly recommend this property – my only statement would be it can get a little hard climbing up two flights of stairs to get to the front door and then there is another set of stairs if you’re sleeping upstairs. My 30 year old daughter didn’t seem to mind at all so it’s just us old folk but even saying that I would stay there again. 😎 and the communication with the property manager is superb and very helpful with a pre-prepared sheet of places you might want to check out.

Everything was great, perfect location

This place was central to everything in the Old Port section of downtown portland. The loft had three roomy bedrooms each with their own bathroom plus plenty of common space. Very clean and comfortable with all the amenities we needed. Back bedrooms were loud from the late night bars but the Vrbo description gave fair warning and the ear plugs helped.

This was an amazing location for our annual college friends girls trip. We choose a new location each year and the Old Port area of Portland was one of our favorites so far. We absolutely loved this condo - from location to communication with the hosts we had no complaints! 10/10 would recommend!

Do not believe the listing--the noise is unbearable:
“…it's above a restaurant/bar and can be noisy in the evenings.”
After we booked the check-in information said,
"As a reminder, the condo is located on the top floors of a brownstone above a restaurant/bar in the downtown area which is known for its nightlife and noise may carry in the evenings."
Before we arrived they told us:
"Also just a heads up when choosing sleeping arrangements, the main floor bedroom of apartment #2 is probably the most affected by the noise from downstairs until approx 12:30 am Friday and Saturday. The noise seems to be very minimal in apartment #3."
These statements make it seem like the noise is minimal and really only one bedroom.
Nothing could be further from our experience. We stayed in the upstairs back bedroom in apartment #3 because the manager made it seem like that would be the quietest. It wasn’t. We could hear every word of every lyric and the saxophone until 2 AM. We absolutely could not sleep and could not open the windows to get cool air because it made the noise worse.
We would hear the music from every room in both units—loudly. Ear plugs did nothing. You simply cannot sleep in these units when the bands are playing. These units are not “can be noisy or “noise may carry” or there is “minimal noise in apartment #3.“
Everyone in my family was impacted.
Do not rent these units if you like to sleep. Go anywhere else in Portland.

Amazing location in the heart of Portland. Surrounded by good food and nightlife. Having the slice bar right at the bottom of our steps was great for a quick bite to eat! Would 10/10 recommend this location to anyone!

This is our second year staying here and will definitely continue to stay at this location whenever we travel to Portland. It’s always a group of 6-8 and there is more then enough room for all of us and meeting every requirement we need. Location is perfect to walk around the shops and restaurants. While it’s above businesses we never felt like the noise was an issue for us. Host has great communication and easy to check in and out!

Seven of us went on a girls' weekend. This is our second year in a row in this building for a weekend getaway. The overall cleanliness was terrific. Everything we needed was within walking distance. The only downfall was the listing says parking is included; however, it is not. If parking is not included, maybe lowering the price to stay would be better. We spent $210 to park two cars for two nights.
