About a Salcombe holiday...
Salcombe is a historic fishing and sailing town that has become famous as a holiday destination because of its natural beauty and its local charm. Blessed with more beaches than you can visit in a week, a jaw-dropping estuary and magnificent walks along the South West Coast Path, it’s also filled with local traditions. For example, there’s the Town Regatta, excellent sailing opportunities, its own gin and ice cream factories. In fact, Island Square sits opposite Salcombe Gin Distillery, which has a bar overlooking the water serving gin cocktails as well as excellent coffees. You can’t leave without sampling the town’s unparalleled clotted cream fudge, visiting the magnificent bakery and restaurants such as Captain Flint’s and The Winking Prawn, which have practically become a rite of passage for visitors.

The apartment photographs much better than the reality. It is a goldfish bowl overlooked from all sides and right on top of a busy road and beach, and is part of a very noisy hotel complex.,with music blasting out until the early hours Not relaxing in any way. Arrived the evening of the hottest day of the year to find all windows closed and aircon switched off. 36 degrees in the lounge and bedroom.
Apartment very average build quality with cheap fittings.
Absurdly expensive and noisy. We checkout a day early as it was not at all relaxing.
The roads in and out of the village are incredibly dangerous and just one cars width,so the amount of near misses, long back ups etc, just made it all the more unattractive.
Give it a miss.

Reiterate as said above, if travelling in two car to this excellent destination parking for the second vehicle could be a problem.

We spent a wonderful few days over the bank holiday at this stunning apartment, right on the water in South Sands. The apartment is beautifully appointed with everything you would need for a short stay, and the location is perfect… 1 minute walk to the waters edge, and 3 wonderful restaurants. Perfect for a relaxing break at the beach!
