Our stay was good however we were disappointed in the Halloween decorations. They were everywhere. Even cheap jackolanterns taped all over the mirror of the historic cherry bar. I didn’t even get a picture of it due to the tacky decorations taking away from its beauty. Hated to see that it is no longer used as a bar. We felt the changes that have been made really took away from the history and atmosphere we expected of this historic place. Not against Halloween decorations but felt these were not in good taste considering the location.

Walk a mile in their shoes. The Irma Hotel is a step back into history nestled in the mountains of Cody, WY. There is adventure around every corner and exploration is abundant!

This is an Historic Hotel originally built by Buffalo Bill. It looks as if it was last remodeled the 70’s so some areas are looking tired. Keeping it authentic to the original period does not mean letting it run down. We stayed in a historic room. The bed were comfortable though it creaked. The bathroom had some very authentic plumbing but the quality of the tile job was very poor. The restaurant was good value for money and the food was good. If you are looking for a historic place to stay with character then this is the place for you, if not there are some modern hotels just down the road. The staff were very welcoming and I would stay there again just for the historic nature of the hotel

We loved staying at The Irma for two nights. We used as a home base and used Cody Wyoming Adventures for a lower loop tour of Yellowstone-amazing. Dave was a tremendous tour guide, so knowledgeable. The Irma’s rooms are quaint, historical and unique. Rooms very clean. Staff very helpful. Loved our two days in Cody!

No elevator

Popular among locals so it can be busy.
Food was excellent and plenty of choice.
Very historical.

The dinner buffet was mediocre. Everything else was an absolute historical experience.

Great landmark old hotel. No elevator, just stairs. Luckily we were on the 2nd floor. Pld style elevate tank toilet is noisy but worked fine. Restaurant was very good.
I deducted one star because they sponsor a "western shootout" in the street next to the hotel and it was absolutely terrible. First, the emcee made it very political and pro-Trump. He bashed Democrats and liberal states and then tried to say "just kidding". We are Republicans and we found it extremely offensive and worst - NOT FUNNY. The show has no script and the "actors" couldn't play a tree in their 2nd grade school play. It is OVERPRICED at FREE.

Loved staying in this historic hotel. The rooms were comfortable and clean and perfect for our travel plans (just passing through for one night!) The decor was amazing, and having the restaurant right there for dinner/breakfast was convenient. Every staff member was friendly! I would highly recommend staying here!

Nice stay . Lots of history, food was excellent.

This hotel is a wonderful piece of history. It is not without it's quirks as it is not modern. That being said, the actual room was very clean and updated very well without ruining the period ambiance. We found it charming and well worth the extra cost to stay here, just to be able to say we did.

We have stayed at the Irma before. I read about it in a travel guide. The nostalgia and old world glamour makes you feel at home. The bar was a gift from The queen as Buffalo Bill had entertained in England and Many other countries. We eat there even when we pass through, unable to spend the night. I highly recommend the experience. Also, there were 9 of us. 2yrs -69. Everyone had a great stay

The best part first of all was the unique style of the hotel, beautiful scenery, wonderful shopping and the Rodeo.

Not worth it. I had Room #15 in the historic part of the hotel. The room has large skylights that let the light in, so much that when I wanted to take an afternoon nap I couldn't because the room was so light. There are no covers for the skylights. I tried to change rooms and staff had an un-caring, non-chalant attitude and stated they had every room booked. It's obvious they do a good business in the summer and maybe get tired of the tourists a little. The staff attitudes definitely reflect that. This is the only really good historic hotel in town, and they know it. I used to stay here in the past, but I think this is the last time for me.

Excellent stay. Air was was out in one of our rooms and we were upgraded to a room on the historic side; room #35

Lovely historic hotel founded by an American icon. Well maintained but with all the charm of era it was built in. One of the best hotel stays I have had.

Beautiful hotel. Unfortunately it is understaffed, especially at the bar. The food was mediocre, I probably wouldnt suggest the prime rib buffet.

If you want an authenticate place to stay from the early 1900's then the Irma is your place. It was OK. Nothing had been updated. They are going for the authenticate look and feel. Housekeeping would only give us one wash cloth when it was clear there was more than one person staying in the room. Toilet paper was hard to come by even if our roll was about out, no new rolls were left for our use. We could clearly tell that our sink was not cleaned for the entirety of our stay. It was not the worst place we have stayed but by far not the best.
4.0
Fun, historic hotel in a great location in the heart of town. However, the property is pretty worn and tired. Carpet in the hallways was dirty and worn looking, marks on the walls, dirty window shades in the room, mattress was sagging and due to be replaced, cheap bed linens, parking lot was trashy. We were there during high tourist season, but it still felt overpriced for the quality of the experience.

Great room and experience!

The historic nature of the hotel and restaurant was why we stayed. It was worth it.
5.0
Great historic hotel in the middle of downtown Cody. Large rooms, convenient parking and in addition to its onsite dining facilities it is within walking distance of many other options.
4.0
This is a historic property so with that comes some quirks. The floors creak, the street noise is present and the clawfoot tub is not for the mobility impaired. But it is quaint, filled with interesting pictures and artifacts and definitely give you the feel of the old west. The location is worth the quirks for sure.
2.5
Nice, old (to be expected) historic hotel! Great experience. Comfortable bed, great bathroom with pull chain toilet. Would highly recommend for all history buffs! A true taste of the West!

Enjoyed staying at the Irma as it was right in the heart of everything downtown. Large rooms. A fun place to stay.

We wanted to step back in time and chose the Irma Hotel for the experience. The hotel was a very unique in that respect and historically speaking, it delivered. Our 2 night stay made us realize and appreciate the modern style of living we enjoy today. Our room did have modern convinces such as TV and air conditioning but the decor was certainly of the era. That was pretty cool.
