I NORMALLY STAY IN SHERMAN OAKS, BUT MY BOOKER SUGGESTED CITY WALK. GOING FORWARD, THIS WILL BE MY HOTEL OF CHOICE. IT WAS VIBRANT, SO MANY THINGS TO DO IN MY DOWN TIME. I LOVED IT.

Great choice for Universal, lovely modern airy room with a super comfy bed. Eight minutes to Universal on foot and the free shuttle for those that don't want to walk. Nice bathroom but a weird textured shower floor which was painfull for someone with foot issues. Having tried both, would rate as superior to the Hilton across the way.

We usually always stay at this hotel when we go to Universal Studios and have never had an issue. However, this weekend, the hotel room was paid for through hotels.com. Should have any had to pay deposit and parking at the hotel, which is what I thought was being charged. Check my statement and they charged me $422!!! Called to inquire, was told their system made an error, oopsie, and that my money should be back on a few days. Oh but don’t worry “we’re only going to charge you for parking”. You already charged me $400 extra! The least you could do is comp parking. While thankfully not my case, a lot of people don’t have hundreds of extra dollars sitting in their account in case a hotel decides to over charge them for no reason. Hotel didn’t seem to care about their mistake, basically just “your money will be back eventually”
Unacceptable. Won’t ever come back here for this reason alone.

Seems like every time we come back the parking fee for hotel guest goes up. 47 dollars a night is ridiculous especially if we are hotel guest. Better off parking somewhere else and Ubering to hotel.

It was nice

The beds were so comfortable! And it was super close to Universal Studios!

All was good except for dinning breakfast buffet was lacking to say the least would have loved a place to get breakfast if there was one . They did a poor job of letting anybody know

It is a little dated and the rooms are small. The breakfast was in a banquet room so overall not my favorite but it was ok and convenient to universal

We had issues with our room toilet issues which required us moving rooms also my son broke out in red bumps on the right side of his face from that room which are still present while they did remove parking and give us club access I don’t feel the situation with my sons face was taken seriously just passed over

The hotel is pretty decent. It's one of our favorites since it's really closed to our favorite theme park which is Universal Studios. They have a shuttle to the park free of charge. The overnight parking is very convenient.

We arrived after driving 6 hours from Phoenix to Los Angeles.
The front desk manager checked us in and we went to our room.
Our room was one where there was an exterior door that locked then you enter into one of two rooms. Well the exterior door was locked. Our room key did not open this exterior door so we could not enter into our room.So i find a hotel employee, tell him the problem and hus master key also does not work.
It is now 15 minutes since checking in and my wife is now sitting on the floor outside our room NOT HAPPY.
The employee walks me to front desk and explains the situation to the front desk guy. He tells me i have to wait until he checks in the patrons standung in line. So, i wait another 5 minutes while he helps other people even though he checked me in 30 minutes ago. He the. Has a security person walk with me to our room and his master key also does not work. He says we need to go back the frint desk. Now i am very upset because rhe front dedk guy says i have to wait (afain) while he checks in others guests. Now i raise my voice in frustration si ce we are now 30+ minutes unable to get in our room. He tells me if i dont calm down he will have me removed from the property. I calmly speak with the security person explaining my situation. He again walks me to my room, and now the exterior door is open. Supposedly the front desk guy called the patron i. The adjoini g room who locked the exterior door. Omg i will never stay there again. Zero compensation!

This is a $600 per night 3.5 star hotel. Very clean and well maintained from lobby to elevator to room to restaurant. These were the areas we visited. Food was good. Service was friendly. You were required to add a 20% gratuity on your food bill. Shower had weak pressure. 2 bottles of Complimentary water were given. Beds were clean and comfortable. Checkin was friendly and professional. Concierge was a complete A-Hole. He was definitely not happy with his job. He escalated to a level that was not necessary. As you can imagine, this was not how I wanted to begin a vacation with my two children who had to experience it.

First impressions weren’t good. We were placed in the Terrace Level (aka the basement), near the gym and elevator room). The corridor on route to the room was dirty (carpets and walls). Our room was ok, but the bedside table was missing and there was a lot of wear and tear.
Final night our neighbours decided to have a party. This went on past 5am and the occupants ignored security when they were called. So we were feeling really ill and exhausted when checking out.
Main plus is location - 10min walk to the park.

I try to stay here when I am visiting my son in LA. The only complaints I have this trip was the rudeness of the receptionist. I usually have great service, but for some reason the receptionist rubbed me the wrong way. Maybe because I was tired after a 7 hour drive and my room wasn't ready. Housekeeping is alsays suberb on this trip as well as room service. The bell men and valet are always really helpful when I stay here. It's an easy walk to Universal Studios. The pool is amazing and the rooms are a nice size. I prefer staying here in comparison to the Hilton next door.

The staff was fantastic and the rooms are kept really nice. The old style of the hotel is charming and everything was very high quality and nicely maintained.

Place needs to be Fixed . Always wanted to stay here and was so disappointed . Showers have mold and not a clean hotel . Many people we talked to had the same to say , just I don't think a lot of people speak up . Had no hot water one day and had to take cold showers .

Stress free when it came to location and the service provided to shuttling to Universal. Staff was friendly and hotel clean.

We booked our two night stay here for a wedding. Upon arrival in LA it was very hot ~ 100. The hotel upper floors were not able to cool the rooms as many of us did notify the guest services. Their AC systems were not adequate for these temps. More important our bedding have a sandy material and we do not believe the bed was changed along with a slopping old mattress unfit for two guests. I am a very active traveler and I’ve never stayed in a Marriott property that had such poor services.
5.0
To be honest this hotel massively exceeded my expectations. Very clean and comfortable, great pool area, fantastic drinks and food, and super friendly and helpful staff. If we’re ever back in LA, we’ll be staying here.

It would be better if the overnight parking is included. I didn't know it was not included and I needed to spend extra $84 for parking.
The shuttle bus service is very convenient.
The carpet in the hallway is a bit dirty, may be it is time to do some upgrades.

Great staff always a pleasure.
