Sheets and towels good and having kitchenette facilities.Bed comfy. I didn't like holes in curtains where backing had perished, cobwebs hanging from ceiling from one side to other. Given dishwashing liquid but no cloth or tea towel, exhaust fan in bathroom needs cleaning. Extra roll of toilet paper would come in handy and there was no body wash in shower dispenser.

We came to Taree for a family catch up after a trip to the Hunter staying at the Crowne Plaza. We were expecting a worn out tired and average country motel. The Alabaster Motel was BETTER than the Crowne Plaza The motel has had a major refurbishment, in which they did not skimp! This was not a superficial new coat of paint and some cheap fitout. They thought about it, and made the rooms very classy and comfortable. I particularly like that the king size beds are actual king size beds and not 2 king single beds joined together. The pillows were top quality as you’d expect from a 5 star hotel. The staff were fantastic and very accommodating to our needs. I would also thank the staff for the recommendation to the Manning River Hotel for dinner/lunch! Again, you look at the building and think this is going to average. The staff and kitchen was EXCEPTIONAL! Awesome counter meals. Thank you Alabaster for great stay and we will be back

We requested a downstairs room and was offered an updated room at an extra cost, it was money well spent. It had a huge TV and beautiful bathroom, not big but big enough. Bed was very comfortable too, king size.

Thanks for accommodating me so late, it was a last minute decision while driving. The shower was terrific and the bed was comfortable. I had a good night's sleep and left again on my journey feeling refreshed. Much appreciated.

I think I was in a small room (room 20) as it was very compact. During the night a man knocked on my door and then yelled expletives outside my room, kicking the bannister and I was actually really scared. Not the motel owners fault of course but they had not heard any of this until I mentioned it the next morning.

The room was very run down. They are doing renovations but unfortunately the pictures that are online are of a completed room certainly not the rooms that were available. The curtain which didn’t quite cover the whole window fell off in the middle of the night into my young son. The toilet constantly ran, and the rotting timber frames around the bathroom were falling apart everywhere.

Our room desperately needed some updating. When we arrived there was no light globes in the bedside lamps but that was sorted out very quickly. The room was large and the bed was very comfy. The soft furnishings were a bit smelly but the bed linen was clean and fresh. I probably wouldnt stay here again.

Generous room with kitchenette area. Bathroom has been updated, but doesn't have a sink (it's in the living/bedroom), which I found a bit odd, and water pressure is a bit weird (makes a noise when you turn on taps in the shower). Room was clean and bed was comfortable. Nice pool. Couple of minutes walk to IGA, local shops and bakery, but around 2km into the centre of Taree so a bit of a walk. Unfortunately, I had a misunderstanding about room bookings so ended up paying for an extra night due to reception desk not communicating with the owner, despite me checking and re-checking that my request for two separate one-night bookings had been combined into one two-night stay in the same room. Free WiFi but remember to ask for code at reception when you check in. Facilities are good and it's convenient so would stay again, but remember to talk to the owner if you want anything done - not reception!

Room Interior has been modernly refurbished and is comfortable. However the bathroom was not clean. There was no telephone in room to contact reception and no directory with maps or local attractions The exterior of hotel needs work. Pool needs to be cleaned.

Couldn't get cold water out of the bathroom tap, inside of the kettle wasn't too flash and we saw two cockroaches come out from under the fridge. We knew we weren't getting 5 star accommodation but we're a little disappointed
