Very nice place. Great rooms, customer service and wonderful breakfast.

Great location. Nice and tidy place. Walkable to some great restaurants and bars in Seward.

Room is huge. Comfortable and lots of ways to stay warm or cool. Over the last five nights this is by far the best place has a fridge microwave hairdryer walk-in shower with a seat a ceiling fan thermostat Shiba air fan was goes on TV wasn't working right but great lounge to watch football with other guest. Was surprised that breakfast was $19 a person and the choices were eggs sausage Waffle bagel Grit and cereal. Which was fine but sort of a surprise when $46 was added to our room expense for breakfast

The hotel is a pretty good option to stay in seward, they had breakfast to buy option, easy accessible restaurants on the street....and port for kenai and marine tours just at 1.2 miles...location of hotel is perfect...we had a good 2 nighg stay here, except missed the window in the room, there was no window in our room

Stayed 2 nights at end of Aug/beginning of Sept 2024 (Labor Day weekend). Hotel is in great location and is nicer than I expected, with a pleasant lobby & balconies from 2nd & 3rd floors looking over the lobby. Be sure to ask for a room above the ground level. We were given a room right next to the lobby. We could hear all the comings & goings at the entrance. Our room was also very hot despite the heat being off. There was an air conditioner but it was coated in dust so we didn’t want to turn it on. We didn’t want to open the window because our room was right next to the sidewalk, with people passing by (not noisy but too close). The staff said they’d pass on the temperature & AC issues but didn’t offer any solution while we were there (such as vacuuming the AC?!).
The hotel is in a very scenic & convenient spot at the far end of town near the Sealife Center, with easy walk to restaurants, shops, etc. There’s a buffet breakfast but it’s $18 and we preferred the nearby cafes. The hotel offers a pick-up service from the train station, which was very helpful. I recommend this place but try to avoid a room on the ground floor.

Overpriced and no free breakfast?

I like the convenient of the location but no parking space and staff weren’t welcoming to guests. You can hear when people are walking on the sidewalk. When the lights on you can see thru the blinds into your room from the streets. No privacy whatsoever. I can hear conversations tru the walls. It’s overpriced for the space and overall of it all.

I reserved 2 nights thru Expedia and the only had a reservation for one. I showed them a copy of the Expedia confirmation and they said they could not honor it. They had a room for at almost 2x the cost. Not sure who I should be more pissed at, Edgewater or Expedia.

It’s an older property but our room was clean. The beds were comfortable and the staff was friendly and super helpful!

This hotel is lovely and the staff was very nice. It's very convenient to the restaurants and shopping. They have a free shuttle to the cruise ship port which was very convenient.

Really surprised by the guest rating on this because we had an excellent stay. Prime location in Seward walkable to many shops and restaurants. The hotel and rooms were modern and clean. We stayed in a “windowless” room which I thought would make me feel claustrophobic, but there was a window, it just went to the hallway. It felt like a normal room without a view. We could easily step outside our room and have access to a window that overlooked the gorgeous bay. Coming in with those expectations, I was pleasantly surprised and would definitely stay here again.

Seward is amazingly beautiful. We found the Edgewater to be quaint, clean and comfortable for our needs. The bathroom is small, but didn’t bother us at all. The room had plenty of space and a good view of the bay. There are some fun restaurants right within walking distance.

Great location to Seward town proper!

Nickel and dime specialist. 18.95 for a continental breakfast. No coffee in the lobby. TV in Lobby is on ESPN with no volume or remote to change channel. I asked for remote and they said they don’t have one might as well hang a picture of something there instead. As we were checking out other guests complaining of add ons on there bill. Just be upfront on charges everyone is on vacation here and hate being nickel and dimed. Then at 8am housecleaning is knocking on my door asking me when am I checking out. Poor hotel choice find another place.

The property was right in the middle of downtown Seward and very close to the marine life conservation center easily within walking distance. The hotel was clean although I think they misused the space. They have a lot it for the bathroom. It was OK. My biggest gripe which I already knew before booking was that there are no windows to look out of, but I knew that going in why is there no windows in a hotel? Just wondering …. I would definitely recommend this location and would stay there again.

Check in process was seamless and they gave me a nice waterfront room. Also front desk directed me to a great steak house that served steak and seafood. Will definitely go back when I am in Seward. Thank you

Good location convenient to Seward fishing and dining. Parking for check in not convenient and limited. Beds need better mattress and pillows.

Just don’t. I’ve never written a bad review but I feel like I have to warn others. We had an interior room (no window). It was very loud and we could hear everything from the atrium lobby, rooms on the side and below us. That’s okay though because as soon as we turned on the air conditioner we couldn’t hear anything over the loud screechy noise it made. We had to turn that off because nobody was going to sleep with that awful sound. The room had a ceiling fan which wasn’t well fastened to the ceiling (my grandson was terrified that it was going to fall) that wasn’t balanced so it had a clicking noise but that was also okay because it wouldn’t stay on. About every 5 minutes the fan shut off and the light would come on….with no one touching anything.
It was super stuffy in the room so nobody got a good night sleep. My grandson thought the bed was so uncomfortable that he opted to sleep on the floor.
To top it off, at about 1AM we decided to just watch a movie since no one was sleeping and the TV didn’t work. The front desk guy said that they have been having challenges with the cable since early June and about half the tv’s in the hotel don’t work.
No way would I recommend this place. The front desk guys were nice but there’s nothing they could do to make this okay.

Strictly held to 4:00 check in but great location , beautiful views and nice facility

Property had a room access problem due to microsoft upgrade. Additionally, most hotels have a free breakfast. This one cost 18.00 fir very little. I considered this poor public relations and limited in quality. They would di better not to have it at all.

Let me start by saying most properties in Seward look older but some look updated in certain areas. This hotel was fine but the only updated area was the lobby. The rooms are older, bedding is mid and the beds themselves aren’t super comfortable. Parking is also an issue. No one warned us that parking in front of the hotel is limited to 2 hours at a time, unless it’s after a certain time and then you’re good until 8am the next day. They do have a lot at their “sister property” across the street which we didn’t know about until the second day. Breakfast is some sort of a buffet that is about $19 which we didn’t do but there was no free coffee or any complementary offerings. The rooms do have a small coffee maker which we opted not to use. Overall the place was clean and just okay. I think I’d choose another hotel if we decided to stay in Seward again.

Very clean and comfortable. I didn't pay attention that I have booked a room with no window. Thanks for clearly stating that in booking confirmation.

Stayed two nights before flying home. Hotel needs updating. After checking into room we noticed the AC was not working. Hotel clerk kind of admitted she was aware that there might be a problem but put us in the room anyway? So they gave us another room and the AC was fine. Only thing is we could not figure out how to make the shower work. So decided we'd just take a bath but bath had no stopper! So we stuffed a handcloth in the drain. Guess we could have complained but didn't want to move again. Breakfast was sad but I guess better than nothing. I'd just advise anyone staying there to check their room out thoroughly at the start in the event they need to switch rooms.

Overall the hotel is in very poor condition, limited options around for dining and 18$ breakfast buffet I would not eat for free

Okay, experience. The room was small but it was clean. Parking was not easily accessible. There was no breakfast. The Kenai Fjords Cruise shuttle does come to the hotel to pick you up and then drop you off.

Great room by water and a balcony !! Wish they had 24 hour coffee though.
2.5 / 5.0
The room was on the first floor and the window looked out to the ramp where people come into the building. Probably their worst room. That being said, the noise was better than most hotels, the room was clean, the beds comfortable, and the privacy shade and black out shade worked well. It’s a nice hotel and is probably even better in one of their nicer rooms.

Average property.. Quite expensive for its worth.. Possibly because of the location and the demand. Limited parking, but can manage it with open space couple of blocks away. Breakfast is not included. Just an average motel, with nothing to write about.
