The prince has really nice public areas, great co-located food and drink options and is in the heart of St Kilda. The staff are lovely. The rooms are older style but have been nicely renovated and work well without being luxurious.

The toilet flooded our bathroom and when we asked to be moved to another room this was denied. Initially they were not going to mop and clean our bathroom until the next day, after several discussions with managment they decided to clean the bathroom. Would not recommend.

I really don't know why I paid extra for a larger room? This "deluxe room" feels like an old, tired motel lost somewhere on the outskirts of town with a large inflatable mannequin laughing at every passer by but in particular laughing at people booking in. From the moment you walk in you feel this could be a hit or miss hotel and unfortunately it was a miss. Have stayed before at other half price hotels in the area but as my wife was coming this time with me I thought of upgrading. What a costly mistake. Pub was very nice and looks like new chef is trying hard to bring back customers. Morning cafe staff should come to work 15 minutes earlier so coffee's are ready for already waiting guests. Warm muffins were delicious (thanks again to the Chef!). Don't bother staying here, it is not the old Prince it used to be.....

its a great spot except the street people. not that safe after dark, the melbourne govt needs to do something about it .

I enjoyed the atmosphere including at the restaurant.

Deluxe room had a view to a dirty roof, layout of the hotel is a nuisance and the room decor is nonexistent

Location. Friendly & Professional staff

The room was great. The staff friendly. Service on par. The food at the Prince Hotel is not good. There are plenty of great places to eat in & around St Kilda.

While the hotel was comfortable and the bed was great, the room was extremely noisy mostly from people being rowdy on the street below. Also, the curtains were strange and didn’t fully cover the windows. The hotel needs to work on making the rooms more soundproof. I wouldn’t stay here again just based on the noise.

Loved the ambience of the property.

Like where it is easy to walk to multiple attractions or use public transport
Hotel has been modernised yet retain sufficient elements of its old charm
Only had breakfast there which was good.
Enjoyed the in-house bar, wine bar
Quite rooms though on the smaller size
Very easy parking with walkthrough to the hotel
2.5
Easy friendly check in, room was welcoming
The bar and restaurant are quality and reasonably priced
Wine cellar and deli onsite are high end
Service is impeccable

I rarely write poor reviews. But after spending $450au in order to have a king bed, the only option being a “corner suite” I was very dissatisfied. The bathroom is so small there isn’t even room for your toiletry bag. Need a towel to shower or dry your hands? Other side of the room. Not even a towel rack nearby. It’s that small. The whole layout is wack. Got a call, needed a pen and paper, nothing to be found. A bottle of water? Nope. Nothing. For a suite, it’s cramped and doesn’t include even the most basic amenities found in a motel. Maybe the cheaper rooms are better, but this suite was a total bust and total rip.

We absolutely loved our stay at The Prince. The service was great, location was convenient and the bed was very comfortable. The only issue was noise at times, but it was a Sat night and to be expected.

The bed are only double size in the room we had

I really enjoyed the property, the staff was accommodating on all levels. The only thing stopping this facility from being all five stars was no pool or spa. A big spa even, would be very good.

Lovely property with a great position in St Kilda - walkable to the beach and the hotel has some excellent dining options. The walls in the room are incredibly thin though which is is annoying if you have people in the rooms next to you.

Was a whistling/buzzing sound on our floor that wouldn't go away. Night Manager was most helpful but couldn't isolate or fix the noise. Gave us some earplugs which helped. Seemed to be a faulty bearing in A/C or similar, I'm sure it's been fixed by now.

Lovely place for weekend away from home, with great eating options (in and externally) and a good bar.

Amazing and friendly staff, place was clean and comfortable, I recommended anyone to stay. Was really close walk to the palais theatre which is why I booked. And cannot make a negative comment against this hotel. The food and drinks were great. Will definitely be back again :) thank you to lovely staff for making me feel very welcomed and safe.

Location and service was great. Really nice facilities pub, dining room etc but the room was tired and sad - it needs some attention.
Overall it was good stay.

Stayed at the Prince Of Wales because of a Band the Wife and I were seeing at the venue. Very convenient for us because we just had to walk through the Bar area and out the Front. The Room was very clean, and the Bed was comfortable. Shower was really good as well. Perfect location for shopping as we just caught the tram out the front to go into the city, and also there was plenty of café’s and restaurants nearby. Just a short walk to St Kilda beach as well. Wife and I had Breakfast at the Prince Of Wales on the Sunday and it was one of the best Breakfasts we have had in a long time, the food was so fresh and delicious and the coffee was on point as well. Will definitely be coming back 😃

I love staying here, its central and convenient for what i do when in Melbourne and i am here monthly, My only feedback to the Prince is that i have been coming here for about 2 years now and the menus have never changed, nothing wrong with the food but very limited choices so i find myself looking around for somewhere else to eat when staying.

Once you've figured out the very confusing layout of this hotel, you begin to appreciate it. Having free onsite parking is a major plus. The WiFi Internet is reliable and reasonably fast (for Australia).

I have often stayed at the Prince and very much enjoyed it. This time I had a slight problem with my room and the staff, not only not offering any compensation, were dismissive, suggesting I ask for a room without this problem (provision of basic equipment) next time. What makes them think there will be a next time!

Amazing property at the beautiful St Kilda. Great location, across the road from the beach. Free car parking onsite, the hotel is trendy and our room was lovely. The bed was just as comfortable as ours at home! Which is rare for a hotel. In room service for breakfast was quick and delicious. We will stay here again.

My room was simple and lovely with beautiful considerate touches.
Such a comfortable bed, lovely products to use in the bathroom and all the extras. Iron and ironing board, dressing gown, etc.
I will definitely be back.
Thank you.

Great location and friendly staff. Enjoyable stay!!
We had a clump of someone else's hair on the wall of our shower which was unfortunate. ( Have pics if you need ).
