Lovely country pub with restaurant and large, safe garden. Good atmosphere and owners friendly and helpful. Room large and bed comfortable. We only stayed one night but wished we had stayed longer.

Managers only be there a week so may not have had time to fix things, bathroom was not clean and everything just looked jaded

Excellent service, fantastic staff, delicious food. A great place to stay in a quiet country location. Will definitely return. Highly recommended!

Excellent. Would stay again

It was great, a bit more remote than we were expecting but that was a bonus. Staff were very friendly and food and room just right.

Lovely old fashioned pub/accommodation. The rooms were small but cosy. Coffee and tea facilities and everything we needed for our stay. Although we didn't eat there the food looked really nice, and they serve a few guest ales. All in all was quite a nice place and would stay there again if visiting the area. Would try the food as well.

Very clean, comfortable and quiet.
I only stayed one night whilst on a business trip. I couldn't get the wifi to work but I didn't ask for it to be looked at as it forced me to switch off from work.
The food in the pub was excellent and the staff very helpful.

Room over looked the back of the kitchen so the fans were noisy. The walls between the rooms are paper thin so you can hear everything! The shower was dangerously scolding hot couldn't turn the heat down.

When we arrived the small bar was buzzing. We had lunch (just sharing Camembert as we were eating at the hotel in the evening) before being shown to our room. As we were the only ones staying that Saturday night we were upgraded to the Merlot room which was very large with a terrace and full bath. The landlady and the other lady who dealt with us throughout our stay were so friendly and welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. We were even allowed a late breakfast which was a. great treat. All the food was beautifully presented and very tasty. It is a very quiet área and we just used the inn for a quiet getaway after the Christmas holidays and this was perfect.

Stayed here while the regatta was on. Had a lovely stay, nice and quiet, cute room and well equipped although very tricky (impossible) to use the mirror with a hair dryer. Breakfast was fabulous as was the service provided by Nicky and the owner. Highly recommend and hopefully be back next year!

Great Hotel, good breakfast with great service from Dora, evening meal tasty and plentiful if a little expensive on the wine. Roads leading to hotel are narrow, muddy potholed tracks, or better roads with speed humps! Locals have big high cars!

It was wonderful! A very nice staff and a quiet place.

As noted in my earlier review, the New Inn is a delight to stay in, lovely quiet location, easy parking, brilliant friendly staff, a comfortable room and bed and delicious food. On this occasion Dora and her team went out of their way to help us by opening the Inn earlier than usual to allow the congregation at my Aunt's memorial service to gather afterwards, to share coffee and reminiscences of my Aunt. This was a real kindness to us and is a testament to the very customer focused community spirit of the New Inn. Thank you so much Dora.
I would recommend it to anyone and would always choose to stay there if holidaying in the area.

I can't say enough about this lovely country inn in a quiet village about 10 minutes northeast of Reading. The owner/manager (Dora) went above and beyond in the service provided to us -- excellent meals and very comfortable accommodations.

Owners 5th anniversary at the New Inn the night of our visit, so we joined their BBQ celebration and enjoyed great food and entertainment.

Booked this hotel as was a lot cheaper than the city centre hotels but still only 15 mins drive outside Reading. Upon arrival, the Inn was empty and I waited 10 mins before I managed to find anyone to check me in. I even tried to phone to speak to someone but it took me straight to answerphone. When someone finally arrived, it looked like the chef who didnt appear too pleased that I had disturbed him. I was handed the key but that was about all. Not the most welcoming check in I have ever experienced. However, things did improve and the room was very nice and modern and the bed extremely comfortable. The rooms are located in a annex type building attached to the pub. I didnt eat in the hotel for dinner but the breakfast was nice although fairly limited, but I was happy with the English Breakfast.Although a Business traveller, I would be happy to return with my family if I was ever in the area again.

Really friendly welcome in this country pub full of character. We had a lovely newly decorated double room, very comfortable.Evening meal and breakfast was excellent as was the real ale selection (3 on tap)

This pub had rooms and ours was outstanding . The pub is a bit tired but with friendly staff who were helpful.

Chef at breakfast wore dirty whites, button missing and reeked of cigarettes. I suspect he had just been smoking and had come out of the kitchen to take our order!

Excellent breakfast!
