Breakfast ok, but not up to the usual standards in those little places.
Lack of Friendliness. Felt I was intruding. Ordered decaf tea got regular.
But there was one employee , Ed (Polish?), who went out of his way to help me with a couple of issues and certainly made up for the lacklustre performance of the owner(?) or person in charge that day.

Well, it’s not the Ritz but the room was warm and comfortable, all the facilities worked and the staff were very friendly and helpful.
I think £100 is a little pricey, £80 is what we think it’s worth

Staff were very welcoming and helpful.

Very friendly helpful staff. Room was very nice, with plenty of room. We were 3 people in a quad room. Bathroom was clean with large shower. It was a hot evening and a very effective quiet fan was in the room to use when needed. Parking wasn't an issue as there was a car park very close.

It's not too far from the Ridgeway Trail, which I was walking. Nice decor in the room. The whole place is contemporary, but maintains a warm charm. The menu consists solely of burgers. I had a vegetarian version of pulled pork. It was pretty good. My veggie breakfast was great. All breakfast options are half price for residents. My room backed on to the beer garden. There wasn't much noise, but it was midweek. The staff were polite and friendly.
As a solo in a double room, I was charged the full price of a double. No complaints, but it made it an expensive stay. I wasn't impressed with the bed. I rolled into the middle and was pleased that I was sleeping alone.

Location is great, room was perfect for a night stay and was child friendly. Staff were fantastic and very helpful for a solo traveller with a baby.
Pillows/bed were okay but could have been more comfortable.

Location was excellent. Staff very welcoming. Food excellent, Breakfast not to be missed! Room and beds were very comfortable. Very clean. First time away with the dog, and it was a very positive and relaxed experience.
Tiny, tiny thing. The owners were absolutely fantastic but the bar staff in the evening could have been a little more cheery.

Location for event, non restricted access, very clean and beds were comfortable.
Fourth bed in group room was not a futon, it was not made up and when one member of staff asked if the bed could be made, I was informed it was our responsibilty, which I was surprised at as I had specifically booked for four in the room, it should be clearer that this fourth bed isn't really suitable for an adult, a second mattress pulling out from under the day bed would be more suitable and made up bedding ready to add to it. Also I was not aware of no parking until my arrival.

location was lovely.
the staff were abrupt and asked for the money as soon as we walked in the pub. their was no offer of help to carry bags to the room up quite a lot of stairs.
the bathroom door did not shut so removing any privacy.

The staff member who greeted was warm and friendly and accepted there were problems with our booking and set out to resolve them.
Room large and airy, well presented.
My bed! It was a child's narrow z bed!!
We pre booked our breakfast and explicitly explained timing as we had a taxi picking us up at 8.45. When we came down at 7.55am nothing was prepared, in fact the cook wasn't there.
My waffle was dry luke warm, my friends beans were dried and crispy.
Needless to say the taxi arrived whilst we were having breakfast and couldn't wait.

Good location.
Manager lacked basic customer service skills.
Futon is more of a camp bed.

We loved the rooms at the Town Arms in Wallingford. We stayed in the family room which was beautifully decorated and spacious. There were just 3 of us but it looked to have the capacity for a family of up to 5. The furniture and lighting really enhanced the room. The ensuite was very clean, the shower hot, with good pressure and lots of toiletries were provided. Tea, coffee and chocolate were provided with a kettle - with spares outside.
One of our party had a dog and baby, this was no problem (although carrying the buggy upstairs was a minor chore).
We arrived at 1pm (before the 2pm check in). We parked up nearby - there are a couple of cheap car parks within walking distance and took ourselves off to explore. Wallingford is lovely, so many welcoming pubs and eateries and lots of beautiful historic buildings. We were a big group of 9 with a dog and baby and found many friendly places to stop.
We ate at the Town Arms later that evening (again dog and child friendly. It has a Smoke House type menu and our party really enjoyed the food. The tikka chicken specials were very tasty. The only drawback was that they had no bitters (for the real ale drinker), everyone else was well catered for though.
Breakfast wasn't available when we stayed but we had booked room only and were given 24 hours notice of this so we had a lovely brunch next door. Would definitely recommend this venue as a place to stay.
Regarding our room nothing, our room was lovely
Bottled real ale would be good for the drinkers eating here

This was a quirky little place which we thoroughly enjoyed. It's centrally placed by the river, and is a lively hub. Evening meals were great, and breakfast, though simple, was very good. Our room was a little cramped, as was the bathroom, but it was adequate and met our requirements. We would certainly stay again.
It is worth knowing that there is no parking at the hotel. When we booked we did not expect to have a car with us. There are reasonably convenient nearby public car parks.

Nice standard room, very clean and with everything you need. Good location right by the river in Wallingford. Helpful staff. I would stay there again.
A minor thing, but the cups in the room were not that clean. But when I mentioned it to the staff they immediately gave me replacements. The room was nice, and comfortable, but on my walk along the Thames path national trail I've stayed in similar rooms for slightly less money.

The hosts were very welcoming and friendly. The room was nicely decorated, very clean and the bed was very comfortable. The shower was powerful which was great. Breakfast, whilst not included in the price, was 50% off for guests and it was delicious, really great choice and reasonably priced even before 50% off!
There is no parking on site - also our rooms were on the road so there was some road noise at night, I would book again but as I'm a light sleeper next time I would ask for a room at the back or take earplugs!

Great location, parking close by, all staff so friendly and nothing too much trouble. Lovely spacious room and very clean.
Nothing to dislike!

We liked the way the landlord is trying to offer the customer a slightly better experience than a 'normal', with the way he has redesigned the interior.
The 'burger of the month' for our evening meal, and the breakfast the next day were really great. The coffee was the best that I had all week.
The evening menu wasn't too inspiring tbh - but appreciate them trying to keep it simple to manage.
Room was fine, but the shower leaked a bit.
The one way system (I guess for C19).
