Stayed for 2 nights. The location is excellent. The place is clean. Mattress and towels, not so good. They need to be upgraded. Service was average.

Great location, pools were clean. Front desk was just...there. Building and rooms need updating. Elevator was "misbehaving"...it wanted try to shut multiple times before it closed...every time. Complimentary "deluxe" breakfast was minimal, went only once. Overall, we would stay again.

Our stay was great! However the buildings need clearer marking's. Maybe on the wall facing the road so you don’t have to wait until you check the stairwell. However after the first time finding your number it’s easy!

We've stayed at The Islander many times over the years. It's a great place to stay mainly because of the location, but they could put a little more time and money into refurbishing the place. They are quite a bit behind the neighbor next door, Ocean Isle Inn.

Location was perfect. Room's are old and very dated. But comfortable. Elevator was sketchy to say the least. Pool areas and jacuzzi were very nice!!!

Location excellent. The condition of the facilities? Meh. Everything worked in the unit. But the light that illuminates the front sign didn’t work making the hotel hard to find at night. Gate to the outdoor pool was in bad shape. The breakfast was mediocre. The TV was slow on Illuminating channels. Mentioned this to management at checkout. They said much will be fixed in the slow season as budget allows

Having a reservation made and going back a couple days later in adding a day that had to be made to a separate room could not have been combined as we could not check in till after 3:00 the first day and was told we had to check out at 11. :00 the following day and wait till after 3:00 to be rechecked in. Basically gave us 2 days out of being at the beach so a 4-day trip turned into really a 2-day trip. As I had called prior to making the add-on reservation was told they had no more rooms. So I went to hotels.com and rebooked an additional day. Called back to the hotel and asked them if they could combine. Said they would try. Upon arrival did not happen so therefore lost precious time on vacation with our 3-year-old grandson. I do not feel that the greatest effort was made to get us in a room the second day as soon as possible. But as far as the trip the location was great. Pool s were clean. Areas were clean. Staff was very friendly and probably will be back.

We had a great stay. Rooms were clean and staff was friendly. The only downside is the hotel only has one elevator and you have to go through two doors for each breezeway and it’s not the easiest thing to do in a scooter.

We had an ocean view and it was amazing. Short walk to the beach and shops. Only complaint is the towels. Probably the thinnest towels I’ve ever had at a hotel.

This property is showing some age. Housekeeping by request and prior appointment only. Noisy with paper thin walls, carpets in hallways were dirty, air conditioners filters were black and dusty, definitely hadn’t been cleaned in years. Towels were thin and sheets looked dingy dirty. No pool towels provided, had to go buy 2 for our use. No broom available in room to clean up sand. Breakfast was mediocre at best, do it yourself waffles, cereal and prepackaged cereal bars, muffins, yogurt, and bagels. Location was convenient to town but on a holiday week, traffic and parking was a problem.

The location is the only thing this place has going for it. The staff was rude. The room and amenities were just ok. Definitely was not impressed and wouldn't book here again.

It’s a very nice place to stay. The bedding could use an upgrade, you can tell it’s been around a long time. Even with it being old they were clean. Elevator was not working, we did receive noticed of this after booking. Unless you are in good shape, going up to the 3rd floor is a workout.

The elevator not working definitely hurt the rating..and my knees. The elevator hasnt been down just a week or two, but a few months. I wonder why it isnt a priority. The breakfast was basic, but sufficient if you want to save time and money in the morning. The room was clean but had a few minor blemishes. Overall for the price, great. Cant beat the location.
