Excellent stay with Emma and Carl, nice view from room and great breakfast. I really enjoyed the stay!

Like the hospitality of the host. The rooms are very clean and comfortable. The breakfasts were delightful and tasty all done my Emma. The only problem we had was that the bathroom were not ADA compliant. The bath tub was a foot of the floor and made it very difficult for my wife to climb in an out of the bath. The breakfast area requires going up stairs and makes it difficult for someone with mobility issues. Other than that, we enjoyed our stay.

Good breakfast. Clean room with ensuite bath. Nice patio and entertainment by all the animals of nearby farm. Host was very pleasant and likeable. No tv but we really werent there much. Recommended

Superb location with a view of the South Kona coast from the Lanai! A mile away from some of the best snorkeling in Hawaii.
Carl & Emma were awesome hosts, catering to our many small needs. Looking forward to coming back here soon!

t has its own vibe, the bedroom stylish but overall the room and bathroom need to be updated.
The cows and chickens are fun, but it feels like we are in the farm. Just to be prepared if you looking for that kind of experience. I grew up with cows and chickens, bit it was too much for our vacation:) we had a wonderful sunset view but never tried it on our balcony, since the cows and smell wasn't our choice for the dinner at sunset.

Good location - great breakfast - amazing sunsets from your patio. Good value

A wonderful host and a beautiful property. We would stay here again for sure.
There are ranchers cattle and wild pigs about 20 feet from the back property line. The bulls can be loud, and the local roosters will greet you in the morning...but we loved it.

Wonderful place to stay with lovely hosts.

Other than the very vocal local frogs it was a nice, quiet, low-key location on the island, which is what I was looking for. All my needs were met and the host was friendly and knowledgeable. They also made a nice breakfast I enjoyed before heading to my next stop on the island. Of you are looking to stay out of the more touristy areas this is a lovely place to stay.

Our hosts were wonderful and provided a lot of information. The breakfasts were wonderful. As were the visits from the cows and pigs. Also enjoyed waking up to the roosters. Would highly recommend this place. It is out of the hustle and bustle of the main part of the city

Amazing views of ocean and sunset from the room/ balcony! Very friendly and informative hosts, who not only provided the info about snorkeling in the area, but also let us borrow the snorkeling gear, etc for the day! Lovely breakfast served in stunning backdrop!

This was our first time using a B&B and it was great! I picked Hale Hoola B&B because of the location and the great reviews and they were right on. The views from the room are amazing. Our activities were mainly on the east and south side of the "big island" so the location made everything easy to reach by car. Carl and Alma were excellent hosts and really made every effort to make the stay enjoyable. The breakfasts were so delicious and I think all the fruit and avocado came from their garden!

I was pleasantly surprised at how wonderful this place was. Clean room, well stocked bathroom, comfortable bed and a fabulous lanai right next to a lush forest jungle. We saw wild pig, cows, Cardinals, geckos and beautiful Flora. Ocean view, too. The breakfast was delicious. The owners were charming. I look forward to staying here again.

Beautiful area, right up against nature and a great home cooked breakfast every morning made for a great experience.

Absolutely loved staying here. Great communication, great recommendations, owners are so incredibly nice and attentive. Quiet at night (no street noise or drunken party shenanigans - just the sound of the island critters) and beautiful views all the way around. If I had a choice between a 5* resort and Hale Hoola, I’d choose this B&B hands down first no questions asked.

This is a perfect little B&B for couples away from the main city of Kona with a very warm and welcoming feel. From the airport it is about a 40 minute drive so you definitely need a car, but I think the distance was what I loved most about our trip. We were away from the the touristy areas, which gave us the opportunity to have a more authentic Hawaiian experience. The room itself was wonderful, and we loved the Lanai. There is no A/C but it was never needed even on 87 degree days. The ceiling fan and and open window was perfect. There is also no TV. I thought I would hate this but TV’s are a time suck and I’m so glad we didn’t have one to take away from the many things you can do on the island. The wildlife around the property was so neat to be around from wild pigs, geckos, and roosters. We are from a big city and never get to experience it. Parking is free, but tight. I was glad we had a smaller vehicle. The owners are absolutely wonderful. Breakfast was beyond amazing and that alone would bring me back. They welcomed us like we were family. I would recommend this property to anyone who wants to have a wonderful experience on the big island.

Great place to stay with beautiful view. Owners so welcoming & helpful. Delicious breakfast and good coffee. Loans of snorkeling gear & boogie boards were so beyond expected. Staying there again on our way back from Bolcano

Off the beaten path. The room was very clean and comfortable. No surprises except for the balcony that I didn’t expect. The view from the room was very picturesque overlooking the plush foliage and the ocean in the distance. The owners were very friendly. Breakfast was very good. If I am ever back this way I would most definitely want to stay here again.

This adorable bed and breakfast came with a beautiful lanai as large as the room itself. The highlight however was our warm and gracious hosts and having home cooked breakfast with them on the upper veranda every morning. It was obvious they enjoy operating Hale Hoola and took great care in managing it and making sure their guests are happy.

Parking was tight but is expected in this area. Everything else was fantastic! The host is very friendly and the breakfast is the best on the entire island! Spinach, mushroom omelette + avocado, papaya, pineapple, etc. + bagel + cake + coffee + juice. Room is spacious with your own balcony overlooking the ocean. Awesome spot to birdwatch and watch some farm animals as well as some non native gold dust day gecko, coqui frog. Close to great snorkelling spot and a national historical site. Poke down the street is awesome too.

This B&B is a little isolated but it was extremely clean and a very quaint place. The beds were super comfy. We are older and were very busy taking off early in the morning both nights we stayed there. So we missed breakfast. The hosts were very accommodating and gracious. We would for sure recommend this place.

The room was very comfortable and clean. Gorgeous Balcony, useful fridge, great shower. Fantastic delicious breakfast, and very helpful hosts. No A/C ot TV. Common area with more seating and microwave. Overall, very homey and enjoyed very much.

Large, delicious breakfast, full supply of beach and snorkeling gear, nice view. Very close to spectacular snorkeling beach (two-step).

This charming B&B felt like a step back into rural Hawaii, but it was just off the main road. The house is surrounded by lush gardens. Out back, behind a rock wall, are acres of forest, leading down to the sea. The frogs sang to us at night, and the wildlife entertained us during the day. The breakfasts were wonderful, including some fruit from their own trees. Thank you, Carl and Elma.

Hale Hoola is a fantastic place to stay. It is quiet, the view is perfect. The hosts are very friendly, accommodating and knowledgeable of the area. Breakfast was great and filling. The location is basically half way between Kona and Hilo. The restaurants in the area do not stay open late so you need to plan time for meals

Great beach view. Amazing couple running the faculty. Breakfast was on the upstairs lanai great view and great view. Loved Carl, Emma as well as Rex and Indy. Would highly recommended

Excellent location. Friendly and helpful on-site hosts. Numerous unlisted extras from snorkeling gear to towels and even sun screen. Talk about above and beyond! Great view of the ocean (and little piggy families!). Very convenient to all kinds of amazing places. Highly recommend.

House on very windy road, steep driveway. Very nice view of ocean. Unfortunately not near any beach and backyard is zoo like. Wild pigs, stray cows, chickens and roosters roaming on path right near house! Ok if you like the farm life. They will wake you up early (5am)! And don't forget the geicos, they will join you on the patio for breakfast. Cute? Breakfast ok, but limited in choices. Owner greated us every am with plate already prepared. Sometimes home made and sometimes cool.
