1.5
A conveniently located hotel with easy access to local attractions. While the facilities show a bit of wear and could use some updates, it served its purpose well for a short stay. Overall, a decent option for travelers looking for a simple, budget-friendly place to stay.
2.5
Hotel is small but lovely, lots of complementary food and drinks in the lobby and got a great dinner recommendation from Idis at the front desk

Fantastic location with charming staff. Quirky, clean and fun.

We chose this property because it was close to the train station. We only stayed one night for a concert then headed back to Barcelona. I loved this hotel. It has so many great dining options within a couple minutes walking distance. The train station is right there so even with luggage it would have been easy to make that walk. The
Hop on hop off bus stop is just down the street also! We took a flight that landed at 10am and we were so lucky and grateful that our room was available as soon as we got to the hotel! They have great amenities in the lobby like coffee and water and ice. I would absolutely stay here again if I ever end up heading back to Madrid!

Great property, great location near dinning and quick connections to transportation hubs. Very clean and quite room, however I have to say that the front desk individual was not friendly and unpersonal.

The person the desk was really nice!

I would stay here again. Though the room could use a little upkeep (the workmanship is sloppy), it was clean, quiet, and the bed was comfortable.
5.0
The staff was very helpful and friendly.

For the price the hotel is expensive not especially wonderful on its own terms. But you're paying for the location, which is excellent in terms of access to parks, the Prado, many other museums, food, and the major train station.
3.0
No kettle available for rooms, you have to go to reception. There were no windows in the hallway I stayed on, this became very apparent when I stepped out of the elevator and the hallway was pitch black. I turned around to get back in the elevator and realized each section of the hallway had individual motion sensor lights.
2.5
It was an amazing stay. Very friendly staff and amazing location. House keeping is top notch. The only discturbance was the rumbling noise from the subway which runs right below.

Everything was really fine!
I only was mising something to put my stuff in the bathroom and practical wall hooks.

Excellent location, small and simple but well-equipped rooms, very comfortable, very helpful staff, very reasonable price.

Close to train station. Food options right out of the hotel

Hotel is centrally located. Excellent desk staff and check-in.

I didn't feel in Spain. Staff was a little too uptight. Even as they smiled, they felt robotic. Still the place is perfectly located within train and bus stations. So, if you are looking for that, as I was, staff, which is almost a reflection of management, is secondary. And the price was right.

As experienced budget travelers, we were more than happy with the comfort, cleanliness and especially the friendliness of service staff at Urbansea Atocha. The location can’t be beat: A 10-15 minute walk from Atocha train station (hub for commuter train and Express bus from the airport, as well as Renfe high-speed trains to other cities), Prado (Museo de Reina Sofia is even closer), Botanical Gardens, center city highlights, and the hipster neighborhood of Lapies. Plus, the hotel accommodates (free) early checkin if there are rooms that weren’t occupied the previous night. This is really helpful for Americans arriving on red-eye flights! Our room was small, of course, but pleasantly modern in the European style. Note that bathroom area is separated from bedroom area by a solid white curtain you can draw across, but toilet is set in its own cubicle with a frosted glass door so we did not find privacy to be an issue. Also note that rooms with two twin beds seem to be the norm in Spain (often pushed together to mimic a queen), so put in your request for a double when making your reservation if you care about that.

Staff was very helpful

No AC super small and dirty not what the pictures shows on expedia is the worst of the trip not recommended at all we rented 5 rooms and they were all the same and we have pictures to prove it

It was all very good. The only thing we didn't like was the openness of the toilet to the common area.

very Clean, nice area, very close to Reina Sofia and Museo del prado. nice staff, excellent service.
1.5
The staff was excellent. Ice water and coffee in the lobby anytime you wanted was a lovely touch. The king size bed was quite comfortable. The room was clean. Unfortunately the room itself needs some attention and was quite an awkward set up. Only a part wall between the toilet and sink and no door. The separate shower was fine although it took a while for the hot water to get there. Location was good. The little restaurant close to the hotel was excellent, in particular for breakfast. See photo

Did not like- when opening window in evening too many cooking smells came wafting into our room…not sure where that was coming from, but was unpleasant. Also, shower needs a bath mat-dangerously slippery when wet. Otherwise room was fine.

I highly recommend this hotel!
We would definitely stay again. The rooms are very comfortable and clean. The service of the staff is unmatched. And the complimentary coffee and cappuccinos in the lobby is a very appreciated detail.

Hotel close to Atocha. Nice big room on 6th floor with good views over roof tops. Nice roof top patio. Comfortable big bed. Effective air conditioning. No safe in room. When we got up at 6:30 to go to the airport, there was no hot water in the shower - only cold water. I think hot showers are a basic requirement, so couldn’t recommend this hotel.

I was very happy with my stay here. The check in was quick, room was clean and suited my needs. The staff was very friendly and helpful.
The hotel was just outside of the tourist area, which meant it was quiet but close to the action. Only a 15 min walk to the train station and 25 minute walk to Plaza Mayor. 24h coffee available and has a filter water dispenser on site. Room did not have a view (looked into an interior courtyard), but this meant there was no noise from the streets outside.
Overall very happy and I would stay here again!

Usually the transportation is very good but the Metro line on Atocha was being refurbished. The shower could use some shelving to hold shampoo & soap. Staff is great. Great location near Retiro Park and easy walk to the major museums.
5.0
Very nice, clean, good air conditioning, central location, walkabe to train station, and walkable most places. Loved it!
2.5
Clean, calm and walkable hotel near Atocha train station. Very good option for visiting the city or stoping in between travels.

Nice place to stay for a short time. We stayed for a day on way to Barcelona.

Good location. Friendly personnel. Quiet room, no noise for a good sleep.
4.0
Location is excellent and staff are very helpful and friendly. Our room, however, appears heavily used and is now tired, with chips in the pergo floor, damaged wall decor, cracks here and there. Bed is good and linens clean, no problem there. Walls have stains too. Needs refreshed.
4.0
Was quite a good experience; only thing I didnt like about the room was no door to the toilet.
3.0
Lipstick on a pig.
The shower hose kept falling off
Our non smoking room smelled of stale cigarettes

Pictures were not accurate, is not as clean.
Bathroom has no door, there seems to be dirt in the shower, seems in pretty bad state, light did not work properly, there was no toilet paper (we had to constantly ask for it), totally not worth the price, a hostel would've been a better option.
5.0
Outstanding staff. Close to train station and tourist sights.
