Good communication with instructions for self-check-in. All was as described. Single room with everything I needed for one night. I wish there was a fan, but no other suggestion. Easy walk from the train station.
4.2
There was no proper communication on how to access the property and no office reception during the hours as advertised.
4.2
Stayed for a work trip
Late check in so didnt see staff but had full instructions on how to access the hotel and get the key.
Room was great, beds very comfortable but we left early at 7am due to work commitments.
Very comfortable
4.2
Nice & clean. Quiet, helpful landlady.

I didn’t stay, leaving my details in a book that everyone else could access felt entirely insecure. The room was basic and the cover was hideous. The towel rail was on the floor of the bathroom.
There was no reception just a key code to get in and lots of single men staying there. No way did I feel safe enough on my own.
4.2
Good location for Southampton port
4.2
The property was clean, the process was simple and the room was perfect for what I wanted 👍
4.2
Nice guesthouse with self checkin system.
Limited breakfast choices
Clean and cost room setup

A little confusion on website regarding breakfast. We weren’t the only guests who thought breakfast was included.
4.2
Greeted by Roddy on arrival made me feel very welcome. And assistance up the stairs with my bag was greatly appreciated.

Thank you so much, everything was very good.

I think this is a good place for young travelers looking for basic accommodation. I git more od hostel vibe than a motel. It is not for older folks used to nicer places. We stayed here for one night before cruise and will not stay here again. The stairs are stiff and most rooms are upstairs. Some rooms get really hot like the one we stayed. It had a fan and no window. There’s also a skylight window that you can’t cover so the long summer daylight makes the room bright all day. Not good for the ones taking a nap or going to bed early. Skylight window opens but the air circulation is unnoticeable so it was hot all day and all night despite being quite cold outside. There are limited choice of restaurants and bars in walking distance. The area is mostly residential and guesthouses. Taxi passes by infrequently and Uber was hard to get in the morning as no one would accept the ride to the cruise port. You should reserve a taxi by calling on advance. Breakfast is overpriced and very basic so if you have time, get proper breakfast at a cafe in a few min drive away. Self check-in was nice and rooms were small and old but clean.
4.2
Very basic accommodation comparable to motels in the US. Almost all rooms are upstairs and not air conditioned. More like a residential house with many rooms. Will not stay here again.
4.2
A pleasant stay. There are lots of additional signs throughout the place so the proprieters have obviously had some bad experiences!
The room was compact and clean if a little tired in places.
Only real issue was the shower water pressure and availability of hot water - both were poor!
4.2
Centrally located near restaurants and cafes but it's a low income neighborhood. The best part was conversations with a regular boarder Adrienne. You only get one pillow unless you ask for more. No air conditioning, just a fan. The breakfast is not worth buying. In all it was a convenient stay before my cruise from South Hampton.
4.2
A late check-in was no problem, this was much appreciated!
The room was compact and cosy, bed was fine. En-suite bathroom good, shower OK, easy to operate. TV mounted in a great position to watch in bed.
The property and surrounding area was quiet at night, slept easy with the window open.
A fan was provided but was rattling and very noisy so I did not use it in the end.
Hunters Lodge was an ideal choice for a 1-night stay. Didn't get to try the breakfast but I might next time - I have another stay booked and look forward to it

I was told in my mail that there would be a key available upon arrival. There was no key and I had difficulty getting ahold of anyone, since there was no receptionist and no answer to phone calls or email. The owner said she forgot to leave us the key, so we had to wait over an hour for her to send someone to give us a key. The property and area was nice.
4.2
It was a quaint B&B
4.2
The staff were not particularly welcoming - our key was not there for check in, no welcome and you were expected to check yourself in and help yourself to the key! Area quite run down and quite far from town centre.
Room very dated and odd layout with sink in bedroom and toilet and shower in bathroom.
Bed and pillows very uncomfortable
4.2
This place was comfortable, but the power kept turning off for no reason.
4.2
Went to theatre so really good to walk too.
4.2
Very steep stairs. No windows. No air-conditioning or overhead fan. Had to ask for top sheet only donna. Far to hot. Woen up with someone burning toast so fire alarm went off when still in bed.
4.2
overall great for the price. its a very lowkey b&b in a charming victorian era guest house. its in a decent area, nice and close to the rail station. the owners were lovely, the room had a skylight, breakfast is an option but i dont think its included depending how you book. my only criticisms is that there was what looked like splotches of mold on the slanted ceiling in the bathroom, though there was no water damage smell. the other thing was soundproofing, last i checked it was advertised as sound proof but i could hear people quite clearly where i was in the building, no big deal, other people stay there too. overall though a solid place to stay.
4.2
Fine for just stay overnight.
4.2
Easy check in, the room was a high standard and very clean. Would recommend!
4.2
The property is around 20 minutes walk from the city centre, the rooms are clean. I was a bit confused with the high ceiling window. The walls are thin so I could hear other guests conversations quite clearly.
4.2
Twin room perhaps on the small side but otherwise excellent. Very pleasant and helpful staff
4.2
Very clean

It was very relaxing time, friendly service, nice, clean room.
4.2
Price to service totally out off balance!!
4.2
nice quality linens and furnishings. Very new shower and toilet. Beds comfortable. Pleasant and hospitable hosts.
4.2
I screwed up the reservation and booked it for a day after we were supposed to leave on our cruise. I contacted the owner and she was able to change the reservation for me to the correct date. The place is clean comfortable and quiet. Remember in the summertime there is no air condition but there are fans. Since we came from Southeast Florida it was still very comfortable
4.2
Be honest the place is close to the cruise terminal but area and neighborhood is not good. The room doesn’t have AC that day was so hot . The room has lots flies have to call the manager came to spray. The owner was very nice.
4.2
Very small room, not the best.
