Great people and very helpful. Very close to downtown

This hotel is just like a YMCA hostel! We were told there was only packed breakfast! The room they offered us was no bigger than a broom cupboard so we asked to be moved. The room was slightly better but still plain and sparse. In the morning we didn’t get breakfast and there was no reception, just shutters pulled down. So we phoned up Amelia hotel which was in same group so we moved there. Don’t bother booking into the st Elisabeth hotel because it nothing like the description. Probably the worst hotel that I’ve ever been in. Save your money and book into one of the other Enter group hotels. !!!!!

Hotel was previously an hospital or elderly people residence. That gives you a hint of the ambiance out there. No carpentry on the floor, shower glass was broken (one panel was actually missing), furniture was somewhat, curtains do not really protect from daylight, bed was comfortable. We hardly reach a 3 stars hotel standard from my point of view. Price for this level of service was insane, considering I booked quite late I must admit... I would not recommend to stay here as there is plenty of correct hotels downtown.

It was a lovely hotel with magical views across Tromsø. The staff were polite and really helpful. It’s just a short walk from the town centre but not an inconvenience. We would definitely stay here again.

The overall stay was okey. The common area is fully stocked with coffee and tea. And there is a small kitchen with a small fridge. The room was also clean but is not carpeted. So even if the heater was in maximum level, the room was still a bit cold. It would be nice for the guests to be informed that the hotel was previously a hospital and used as clinic now.

I booked a twin room for two colleagues. This specifically mentioned in messaging to the hotel and the twin room specifically booked. The guys get to their room late after a long day of work and travel and there’s one bed in the room. I think telling me so I could have booked somewhere that could accomodate them would have been a reasonable thing to do which would have avoided a hard working tired person having to sleep on a floor.

no breakfast on site need to go to another branch hotel for breakfast
inconvenient in a very cold town
otherwise good place to stay

Absolutely horrible.. I have stayed in 400 plus hotels in 30 plus countries n this was disgusting for the value u pay.its a one star property with no basic amenities such as a kettle in the room or clean sheets and a proper blanket.. not to mention no basic toiletries such as shampoo and conditioner in the bathroom..also the hotel has a hospital on one of the floors and it's such a negative feeling..the staff at reception especially Elisabeth is not at all helpful and accommodating n kind..would never stay again and would strongly recommend a no for this place

Good value for money hotel. On each floor there is an electric water kettle, tea bags and instant coffee, free to use. Inside the same building is a professional membership gym (which can also be used by the hotel guests), a pool and a massage therapists. The downtown/harbor area is in walking distance, less than 10 minutes away. The hotel does not offer a breakfast buffet, however, a breakfast bag can be bought at the reception containing a sandwich, an apple, a yogurt and a juice. The staff is VERY friendly and helpful. Parking is approx. 25 Euro for 24 hours, however, to be fair, the parking fee is enforced by the Tromso municipality and not by the hotel itself.

Not bad. Avarage. Friendly and helpfull staff. Poolarea looked very good on the pictures, butt closed for the summer? Why?? Kids rather disapointed...

Pool closed, no water, no parking. This is the worst hotel I have been ever. Staff told us they had a problem with pool pipes and that eas the reason to close the pool and no water but the prices for room were exactly the same for a one star or less hotel service.

I stayed i two different rooms. Both were clean, bathrooms were clean.
I booked a room with 2 separate beds but when we got there, they sayd that only doublebeds are avaylable. Quick thinking by a guy behind the counter and he managed to give us two separate rooms.
They said that there is a sauna and a gym wich i didnt manage to visit.
Breakfast had to be ordered separetly. It was a "here-are-some-ingredients-for-you-to-make-yourself-a-sandwich" type of breakfast. It was good though.

The hotel is about 10mins drive from airport.
I saw the northern lights while driving to the hotel, which was a big bonus!
The breakfast was basic, but plenty of it.
the hotel booklet said that the gym would be open at 7am, so I got up early and went there at 7am, and waited 25 mins and no one showed up, which was annoying, as I could have stayed in bed.
I would stay here again, the gym look very good from what I could see though the glass door!

My partner and I were in Tromsø for 4 days to “chase” the Northern Lights. We picked the St. Elisabeth Hotel frankly because they had rooms at an affordable (Norway “affordable”) rate and a good, if not ideal, location. After our stay I am not sure I would have cared to stay anywhere else. My partner’s luggage did not arrive on our flight and the help at the front desk telephoned all around to help us track it down. Everyone we encountered at the hotel was polite, friendly and willing to do whatever we needed to make our stay enjoyable. True it is about a 10-15 minute walk to get to the center of town, but it is an easy walk and twice we saw the “Lights” on the walk back to the hotel. Ølhallen, the best bar in town (in my opinion), is less than a 10 minute walk. The breakfast (an additional 105 kr) is amazing and served on the top floor with a gorgeous view over the city. Some reviewers have complained about the cost of parking but the hotel does not own the land they sit on so the parking fees are the standard Tromsø public parking fees...the St. Elisabeth Hotel has no say in those rates. Our stay was very nice and I would do it again if I ever found myself in Tromsø.

Staff are very friendly and happy to help. Parking is a bit expensive though, but it's Norway!

Good friendly hotel. Very helpful staff. Took a kettle but they do supply a small kitchen on each floor and a sitting area on each floor. Great for talking to your friends in comfort. Maria was especially helpful telling us where to eat etc.

Great hotel except booked family room and got a z-bed for the extra which was not very good at all.

it was a nice stay with friendly staff

dirty common area near front desk. crumbs on tables and chairs and wasn't cleaned during the 2 days we were there.

I don't normally leave reviews.
Arrived late (12 midnight) - had already contacted hotel and confirmed this was ok. Check in service was poor - the staff were polite enough but took over 20min to arrive, struggled with keys and don't really know process.
No blackout curtains is strange given it is 24/7 sunlight in summer - very bright so little sleep. Room was small but clean.
Sounded like a dance floor above my room on level 3. Then I found out there was! Noisy until about 4am on both nights of my stay. Wedding party on night 2 made things worse. Hotel is a little out of town but only bout a 10min walk - quite steep access which must be hard in winter!
Check out process was as poor as check in.
Hotel price was ok but don't expect anything better than 'at best average'.
Marathon was good course and Tromso is a nice city in a lovely setting - beautiful.
norweigan people were really nice too and would definitely recommend the country but not this hotel.

A very good place to stay for shopping in downtown area.

The hotel was very centrally located, a five minute walk to the centre. It is recently renovated, and was prior the only hospital in the area.. Everyone you meet in Tromsø was born here, so they all know where it is.
The gym is amazing for a hotel, as it is actually a full gym and pool, for which people pay membership. As a hotel guest you are given free access.
The staff was very helpful. Calling taxis, giving directions, etc.
There is free coffee in the lobby.

About 10 to 15 minutes walk from the centre of tromso. Nice views of mountains from hotel room or breakfast room on the 5th floor. Breakfast was OK with breads, cheeses, meats, smoked salmon and cereal. Beds were comfortable but narrow, the room was cleaned every 2 ddays. The hotel staff were very friendly.
